My late father bought 2 of these. He rolled one down a mountain in Kentucky while in the National Guard, and used the insurance payout to buy another. He said they were the most dangerous cars he ever owned, and he meant it. Thanks for the fond memory of my Pops, and Happy New Year.

@GbbJunkie this car has to be dangerous, over 500 hp in a what 2,000 pound car. I would probably never go over 350 in my fb. Shit gets sketch real quick, you can roll launch but if you hard shift from 1-2 that tail is coming around. Go look at the vargas brothers intro where you see the build & battle fb and you'll see what im talking about.

Always a great car. I bought one of these brand new in Australia back in 1974, I was 19. One of the unique features was a siren that went off in the car when you hit the red line because the rotary engines were so quiet. And at top speed of 115 mph the car would start to lift and float which was really scary.

Thx for that,am a 53 year old teenager who loves and adores Rotary Rockets, had a rx2,rx4,rx7 and now am looking at a 85 rx7 to build, they are the shit, nothing on the street can touch the sound and speed of Rotary, live in Los Angeles, and Rotaries are the Bad Boys, anyhow we, I do have a soft spot for old 510's and early Z's also, you all have a Great time with your cars and always be safe and show the public their respect. Oh, I also love my 2 stroke magic rd400's, can't forget my 2wheel passion, love those 2 strokes. As you see, am a teenager at heart..LOL.. Stomper, Hollywood

Even this car, 20-25 years later with the same owner, who's involved with a performance shop, is never truly done. That's the thing with cars. You'll be 30-40 years old, reaching 50, and you'll have sexy cars that teens could drool over, but they're still never done. That's love I guess, you still enjoy doing stuff to it.

No wonder it wasn't like having a vacuum assist big block torque response, massive impeller! The one I got to experience was about 2/3 the size, and I thought that one was a big turbo! 205 tire... your tuner is legit. Props!

Nice Rx3 had 3 of them back in the late 70's. Lost to a Ford Capri in a dtag race wish i could have had the motor of this RX3.

Please do an AutoFocus on the the RX-2 there! I had a 73 RX-2 with a 12A and a header in 1996. I was 18 and it was probably one of the funnest cars I've ever owned. I love this series Larry...keep up the great work.

Cool!!! 73 rx3. By the way Cosmo was just japan only...1990 through 1995. Not mid to late 90’s. Feel like there are quite of bit of misinformation from the owner. Including 48-50lbs out of 9180... to make 900?? Umm. I would be surprised.

I didnt know the 9180 could make that much psi, isnt it a larger turbo meant for increased cfm for a given psi. I would expect it to make 730-750 crank since rotary's deal with turbo's a little differently. For those that didnt know the peak number rated on a turbo is different for a rotary, its around 72%-75% as much. Dont expect a 300 hp turbo to make 300 hp on a rotary, it will make about 220.

@Phil Sohn thanks for the correction on the Eunos. No intentions of running 48-50 PSI to run on the EFR 9180. I was referencing a similar turbo, but a different brand, that made 938 WHP at 50 PSI on a Dynojet dyno.

yeah, you can run a single belt up front (a gilmer drive) and that cleans up the engine bay a ggod chunk once you remove the air pump, a/c, and power steering if you have it. Remove the rats nest and there is pretty much nothing in the engine bay except for the engine.

As a younger guy I had rotaries and family and responsibilities ended up taking over and I sold my 69 R100 my 72 Rx2 and my 72 Rx3 coupe and you think that your over rotarys and then you watch this or you hear one come barping past and I’m young again early 20s and bulletproof thanks

I know what you mean by too much power. I just installed flex fuel and Cobb 20G turbo on my STI and it's almost impossible to go WOT as a daily. If you are pulling out of a parking lot, you instantly break the back end loose and start drifting, even at only 23 psi. I love it, but I get what you're saying.

Would love to see it on here, but it is well known. and theres also the fact that its gonna be a while for that thing to look good enough for Rob to be ok with Larry taking some pics. That said the mechanical function of the car is almost there so maybe he can get the body worked on, I wish he would get Kyza to design the body so much.
