I have made a video on my channel where I make a few more modifications to these turnouts, including sleepers. I think one has to remember that these turnouts date from the 1970's when people ran Lima O gauge. In fact, Lima stock actually runs really well across them! Since the 1970's, our 4mm friends have had their turnouts upgraded about 3 times. These O gauge turnouts are well and truly due an upgrade. I am using them on my 'Salcombe' layout, but quite frankly, they are absolute rubbish. Unfortunately, short of hand building (which I haven't got the time to do). there are no alternatives.

Hi, Love the layout great weathering of the track and attention to detail. I to have electrical issues with Pecos O gauge points. I did not do any bridging to improve reliability and all worked OK or so I thought. My Heljan diesels negotiate ok as long as they are travelling fast enough power wise, a crawl and they stall. Not sure if ballasting etc. Has caused it but really frustrating. I even bought some Markway points to replace the peco ones but have not yet took the plunge and done so. Once again well done a superb micro layout as I set out to do but it grew bigger than Id intended.

Top tip, you could also fit stay alives to the locos. 😀

All RTL points need hardwiring with a switchable crossing nose vee - you can't rely on the switch blades for connectivity. I'm sorry to see that you're going through this. Your methodology might be suitable for garden railways whereby drilling the boards is the kiss of death🤔🤔🤞🤞👍👍

Where's the background? This beautiful layout can't be left with plain blue - it's too good ?!? :)
