In case you were wondering how to make a lemon cake, it's your lucky day, because here is how you make a lemon cake: Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour1 tablespoon lemon zest1 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon baking soda1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature1 1/2 cups white sugar2 large eggs3 large egg yolks2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice1 cup low-fat buttermilk Directions Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter and flour two 8-inch cake pans, tapping out excess flour.Step 2: Whisk flour, lemon zest, salt, baking powder, and baking soda together in a bowl.Step 3: Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat eggs and egg yolks, 1 at a time, into creamed butter mixture on low speed, beating well after each addition before adding the next. Beat lemon juice into butter mixture.
