Hi all, I bought my first Senreve bag after being interested for years and watching so many glowing reviews. Turns out it's not worth either the hype or the price.
Bag Details:

Thank you for some refreshing perspective! Most RU-vidrs got this bag for free, which means their view is very biased. I have never found it to look practical whatsoever. For the price, you can do much better in terms of looks, function, and quality!

You're welcome! I've noticed the same issue where promoted/influencer products often appear much better than they really are, and it's difficult to tell which products are legitimately worth the price

What other bags would you suggest? Everybody else just recommends open tote bags 😔

Thank you so much for your honest review! I've seen so many reviews of this bag already, and I still can't really decide if I should buy it lol. I know by now that it's not very practical. The medium size would be perfect for my frame but it wouldn't fit my laptop so it would be an awful work bag. And some might think this bag is too overexposed because of all the influencers getting it for free, but I personally love this style. And I think it looks quirky and unique. So maybe I should just buy a pre-loved one or something, love it or regret it, but at least learned my lesson :p anyway, a good commuter work bag for me is the Proenza Schouler PS1. I own two of them in large, where my laptop fits and a smaller one with fringes, just for when I feel like looking more boho in the summer. Other good work bags according to this die hard commuter: the Givenchy Antigona medium (it really is not that heavy to me, even when I carry my laptop in it), the Mulberry Alexa (cult classic!) and the Phillip Lim Pashli medium satchel. I'm really a satchel kind of girl, not so much the work tote kind.

Oh i wish you had done this review BEFORE i bought this ridiculous bag. I absolutely hate it 🥴. I relied on too many youtubers reviews who had been sent free maestras from senreve 😭

Thank you for making this video! I’m still looking for honest review on this bag vs Polene brand. Your review has helped me so much to make a decision. Best work bag (in my opinion) is from Longchamp. ✔️Big space for laptop and all daily essential items ✔️ Has a zip for security ✔️ Waterproof material (in case of rain) ✔️ Lightweight to carry around all day

While watching your review it seems you didn’t do much research on the sizes of the Maestra. The Midi isn’t meant to carry the world of a full office in your bag, that would be the largest Maestra. Full leather is heavy, always has been, quality is important.

I am writing this review everywhere that I can for awareness: I recently bought the Maestra from a reseller (new) and within 3-4 months of use commuting to work 3 days/week, the interior flap has begun to pill and the straps started to wear although I don't regularly transport my laptop or anything heavy for that matter. I carry a hardcover book, my house + car keys, wallet, phone, and small cosmetic bag. I am easy on bags and have a number of mid-tier and luxury bags for years without the level of wear and tear of this one. When I reached out to Senreve to request repair options they told me I was beyond the warranty period and there was nothing they could do, although it was a new bag. The fact that the company doesn't even stand behind their products is maddening. I truly don't get the hype behind the brand and the quality certainly isn't worth the cost. Also, while it does have a nice design, the Maestra simply isn't a comfortable bag to wear.

I don't own this bag but I agree with everything you mentioned. I can't imagine being at a supermarket and trying to quickly pay for my items - The bag is really just not very functional, in my opinion.

I got one in the mini pebble leather. It's a good bag but not for getting in n out of much, it's more for packing away things you'll want to get out later. Good for traveling.

I've been look at Polène as well as senreve and am leaning toward Polène. The Polène cyme and cabal both look like better options for work totes.

Thank you for your honest review. I also have an iPad Pro with the case and it gets pretty heavy when I commute. I was also worried about fitting in an A4 folder which nobody else seemed to have mentioned. I had a muscle tear in my hip recently so I’m looking for a better way to carry my work things, traditional backpacks are out of the question though. Do you have any suggestions? I’m usually in formal attire with heels (out of the question too since my injury) so it needs to match my attire.

It's really challenging to find a good work bag! Personally I like bags from Caraa - they're high quality and also have a ton of pockets. Their bags tend to be a bit sportier, but they do have some work-appropriate bags that can convert from a tote to a backpack. Alternatively, there's brands that specialize more in work bags like Tumi (although they also tend to have more of a traditional aesthetic), or Longchamp if you're willing to go for more of a basic tote. If all else fails, there may be "women's briefcase" options. I hope that helps!

I wish I also found this video before getting this bag. I do find it very heavy by itself (empty). Also, it's very difficult to remove the Senreve pebbled leather straps. I was actually looking for a video on how to remove the straps easily.

I'm glad it's not just me that thought it was heavy. Definitely agree that removing the straps would be a challenge. I hope you were able to find a video!

Don't be afraid to pull hard on the straps to separate and adjust them. You have to pull hard to separate and then push hard with your thump to put the little bolt back through the leather. Sturdy bag, it takes some getting used to but each time the leather will stretch and it's gets easier. I like it as a backpack. I think I'm going to get the Alunna next.

I’m a glutton for punishment. I bought 2 of these bags with my own money. I bought a mini maestra (paid full price) about 4 years ago in the dolce blue leather. The only really comfortable way of carrying this is cross body which is my preferred way of carrying a purse. I can’t carry it as a shoulder or top handle because the bag leans away from you and is very awkward. As a backpack these bags are not size inclusive. Its hard for a bigger person to put this on. I like the dolce leather - it holds up well. I also like the quirky, unique look. Its like a little suitcase. I just bought a midi maestra on sale for $440 in pebbled leather. I plan to use it when I need to take my ipad with me. I would definitely not pay full price for the maestra bags due to the design flaws.

it's an unattractive bag... it looks terrible as a crossbody shoulder bag or backpack... thank you for your honest review... there are too many fake ones out there to hype up the product
