I am a person from Turkey who is 55 years old now .When I was young,I used to lose myself when I listen to Years of Decay song especially at the time 48:53(And still the same..🙂)..I am sure and hope that , after 50-100 years may be much more there will be someone who feels the same.Immortal song for me.I say hello to that man or woman from the time 2024.

I get that at the end of the day it's just opinion, but in my eyes Anthrax is just *okay*, not one of the top 4 thrash bands of the 80's. Especially when we have stuff like Morbid Saint, Overkill, Testament, Exodus. And if we include bands from outside the US, there's also Sodom, Kreator, Sepultura who are far above Anthrax. Again, just opinion. And I understand Big Four represents not the best, but the ones who made thrash metal popular. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer all produced really strong stuff in the 80's and I do not dispute their position at all.
I used to fly around in Mom's 1990 Escort wagon blasting this cassette. Those days are distant memories, but I still have the cassette, and still love this album. 👍
I just listened to nuclear assault (survive) an had to hit this next, OMJ this album is still amazeballs in every way! when I was in HS an this came oot no one else was jamming to this and I didn’t understand?! Front to back, top2bottom this album is perfect! And still wonderful today rinow. Pert sure I still have the tape laying around somewhere in the garage lol

This album in particular is kind of special to me. It was this album I used to introduce one of my best friends to Overkill; I never heard the end of praises for this band from him up until his untimely passing. He was one of the most generous, kind and welcoming people I have ever known. RIP Jeff (my friend). Miss you, man.
Its strange, how music affects us........ takes us back to a place in time..... what you were doing........some of my strongest memories are completely based around music.
My friends used to make fun of me for listening to this band. But then again, their favorite bands were AC/DC and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Nothing by comparison.
This was the first Overkill album that I ever heard, and it blew me away so much that I went out and bought every previous one, and every one since then. I've never been disappointed.
I've come to the conclusion few years back, that Overkill is just my #1 favourite thrash band of all time. Why fight it, shit hits home for me every time.
@JackUHU They were beyond Slayer's sound too. The East Coast thrash scene seemed like a different beast altogether. Much more bass oriented and far more hardcore punk influenced than the Bay Area thrash scene.

I used to BLAST the hell out of this and I hear lack on my 12" Rockford Fostgate speakers in the house everything in the cupboards would fall out and the phone would come off the wall my mom would come home PISSED and hit me with the belt but i didn't care it was WORTH IT! Im 58 now and STILL blast this in my car.
Now I'm listening to this awesome album.. but in the early 90's I had a local metal magazine which featured all the songs ' lyrics from this album though I had no idea back then how this band would sound like. 😅

One of the heaviest tunes on this rock! Playing with spiders- skull crusher still holds up 20+|year later still better then 90 % of the shit out there , hope all is well with wrecking crew
I’m a simple guy. If you’re playing overkill I’m listening… So many great albums from this band. For me, I’m old-school so probably taking over or this one’s my favorite. It just depends on which one I’m listening to. Honorable mention albums, from the underground and below and horoscope two amazing albums as well. Also, it’s so cool that they’re still putting out music and touring
i was wary listening to Overkill for the first, but I'm glad I did. This reminds of a early Accept, and the similarities between Bobby Ellsworth and Udo Dirkschneider is uncanny, so much so that I actually had to look at the band roster to double check.
discovered OVERKILL from Horrorscope when it came out. F''n love Years of Decay.. Gustafson kills it. Didn't realize Spiders/Skullkrushers is ~19 minutes. Sees like 5 minutes every time. LOL, The riff bridge on END: devil horns!
