He is. I thought he was using a pick on this but was surprised to see him (when they finally showed him) using his fingers. I've always loved John's playing through the many incarnations of the band.
to be honest everyone that like and truly heard fleetwood mac knows that CM, SN and LB share the lead singer. I mean, the band's successful compositions are well distributed among the 3 so it's not wrong to say CM was the lead singer, it's not wrong to say SN or LB was the lead singer. They were during the minutes they sang their songs, right?
This is an example why the Midnight Special, was so freaking awesome and amazing. They put on phenomenal 🎶 and groups. I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac on this show. Christine McVie, is sounding like the original Songbird.
Stevie and Christine both brought their best attributes to make Fleetwood Mac one of the greatest and most memorable rock bands. Bithe of them had phenomenal voices. Out the two ladies, Christine had the most unique voice. Thank you for sharing! 💖
One of my favorite voices singers Christine McVee I Loved that sweet soulful muffled soul sound of Christiane MC,Vee ,, it went deeper in to my heart then other voices ,,,artist singers...no others compared to that sound she had.
On Fleetwood Macs Greatest Hits Box Set, Christie McVie wrote 8 out of the 16 songs in the Greatest Hit's Box Set. That's more than Nicks or Buckingham. Crissy was so underrated in Mac but that's how she wanted and loved it. RIP Crissy
Better than the studio version, I always thought was kind of a flat recording. But that track worked for the masses. You can hear Lindsay's guitar licks here much clearer. Nice vocal fills from Stevie. Christine Perfect as always. The usual groove from John and Mick.
I’m molding gray now but don’t get yourself. I had one ass rocking good time back in those days camped out on the sidewalk for three days for Fleetwood Mac tickets the Omni hotel I remember it well.
Christine mcvie wrote th is about lindsey buckingham I was falling in love with lindsey but I knew it would not work out he only had eyes for stevie but it took him long time to get over her but before she passed away she still had those feelings about him and he never knew about it.
Yes, I think it's because he's playing a strat here & the extensive use of harmonics. Hard to do without a pick. Watch as he hits the last note as a harmonic. Awesome.
The Rhythm section is so good. The eponymous duo is somehow overlooked in the discussion, but throughout all the various versions of the band these dudes were the foundation.
I was born and raised here in Hawaii in 1968. So, I was blessed to be able to grow up with amazingly great songs during the 70’s and ‘80’s(I graduated in 1986). I have sooooo many favorite bands and solo artists from that era that are still in my heart and soul and near the top of my list…TheGo-Go’s…ZZ Top…Eagles…Chicago/Peter Cetera…Wings/McCartney…Sade…James Taylor…Journey…Carole King…Linda Ronstadt…Eddie Money…Toto…Billy Joel…Air Supply…Steely Dan…Cyndi Lauper…Annie Lennox…Elton John…The Doobie Brothers…The Alan Parsons Project…Genesis/Phil Collins…Supertramp…TheStevie Wonder…The Cars…ELO…Little River Band…The Bee Gees…Dr. Hook…Commodores/Lionel Richie…Kenny Rogers…The Manhattans…Bryan Adam’s…Foreigner…Dan Fogelberg…England Dan & John Ford Coley…Marvin Gaye…ABBA…George Michael…Styx…Pat Benatar…Sheena Easton… Billy Idol…Huey Lewis & The News… Bread…Hall & Oates…Alabama…Carpenters…Queen…John Denver…Debarge… Van Halen…Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers…Smokey Robinson…UB40…ZAPP/Roger…Rod Stewart…Roberta Flack…Ray Parker Jr/Radio….38 Special…Richard Marx… …just a few off the top of my head😄😁
@@s.malone2849 🤭😆. Yes, that’s what happens with a music major. Sorry ‘bout that…I always get carried off and lost in my music🎼🤘🏾 Heartfelt Mahalo for asking, 2849….I live on O'ahu, but, have family there. Haven’t heard from two of them yet. Gut wrenching. If it, truly, wasn’t for music…😔 I’d be deep in freak out mode. The devastation is so sad. I was stationed in Germany when my unit went out to the first Gulf War in Kuwait in ‘91….film footage of Maui has sadly brought back memories I thought I had suppressed waaaay deep into my next lifetime…..umm, nope. Probably what I get for not seeing someone about back then, huh?🤔. Oh, well…I’m in my fifty’s now…so, just a few more years to hang on to. Again, thank you for asking. The outpouring of mainland and other overseas friends and, people I don’t know personally has really helped us all….especially, the great response to help in so many ways to our neighbor island ‘Ohana with food, water, people from other states flying in to help…it has truly gave me hope that our great nation still has people that care and put issues aside. I was kinda giving up hope the last ten plus years, or so. I’m taking vacation to go over to volunteer. Hopefully, we will be able to get that once beautiful island back up and growing again. It’ll take some years. And, a lot of healing. But, that island wasn’t given “Maui Nō Ka 'Oi(Maui is the Best)”, for nothing🎼🤙🏾 music.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QE0oP9j9QYI.html&feature=share
One of the few Midnight Special recordings I find less than adequate. Sound is muddy and flat. Still worth watching because it captures a band in a point in time but the original recording really is so much better.
A cool detail about this performance is that Lindsey is using a guitar pick. He is almost always fingerstyle. He usually uses his right hand fingers only withiut a pick but not here. And it's a huge triangle pick that you don't see very often. It's not unheard of but it's unusual. (I call it a Dorito. Lol) There are at least five different variations of guitar arrangements that I can find for Over My Head and many other Fleetwood Mac tunes. He's a brilliant guitarist.
"Over My Head" You can take me to paradise And then again you can be cold as ice I'm over my head (over my head) Oh, but it sure feels nice You can take me anytime you like I'll be around if you think you might Love me baby (over my head) And hold me tight Your mood is like a circus wheel You're changing all the time Sometimes I can't help but feel That I'm wasting all of my time Your mood is like a circus wheel You're changing all the time Sometimes I can't help but feel That I'm wasting all of my time Think I'm looking on the dark side But everyday you hurt my pride I'm over my head (over my head) Oh, but it sure feels nice I'm over my head (over my head) But it sure feels nice I'm over my head (over my head) But it sure feels nice

Brilliant music, but the whole band looks like they just walked away from a beating. When you learn the history of how the album "Rumors" was made it becomes obvious why. Talk about triumph through adversity!
"My success is infinite." You really can have all the success. But only if you eliminate doubt. Doubt is the killer of success, make a decision to arm yourself with the affirmations close at hand when doubt creeps in. 365 Days of Positive Affirmations-Nicole Lockhart
"Failure is my ally." Any sports Hall of famer will tell you that the only reason they did well so many times is because they also failed more times than anyone else. They just tried more times than their peers. Do more. Do not fear failure, in fact, welcome it and learn from it. Failure is just important as success because we can learn from it and come back stronger and smarter. 365 Days of Positive Affirmations-Nicole Lockhart
