Travel vlog #22 | Pamukkale, Turkey | Filmed October 2, 2021
About 600km south of Istanbul and about 250km east of the port city of Izmir, the town of Pamukkale is situated in western-central Anatolian Turkey.
Known for the stunning travertine limestone cliff formations and the adjacent ancient city of Hierapolis, we explored the area by air in an early morning balloon ride!
We also explored the area from the ground, so this video provides both perspectives.

About Us:
-------------------------------------------------------
We are Matt and Avic; Matt grew up in Virginia, USA, and Avic in Quezon City, Philippines. Since we started dating back in the 1990s, travel has been a major part of our relationship.
By May of 2021, both of our sons were out on their own and we were fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. We decided to quit our jobs, sell our house, get rid of most of our stuff (store the rest) and set out on a Nomadic Life.
“Explore Tayo” means “let’s explore” in Taglish (blended Tagalog-English.) “Tayo” is the inclusive “we” vs the exclusive “kami." This isn’t just OUR journey, we want to include everyone who watches our videos or visits our site so we hope you will hit "like" and "subscribe" and come along for the ride!

Wow, amazing video, one of my fav travel vids I've ever watched. Maybe Because Pamukkale is one of my fav places I've ever been, hehe. I went just expecting to see the travertines not knowing there was amazing Hierapolis above them. The rebuilt stage made the amphitheater my fav I've ever seen. Great to be reminded of it all and amazing to see it all from above!!! I didn't know about the balloons, prolly cuz I'm not a morning person. Was thinking of going in Kapadokya but was too cold. Seeing your whole process was fun too! Thanks!!!

I often wondered how they got the in them into the air. Now I know! It's WORK! But looks like it is well worth the work., the entire process!

Thank you! This was an incredibly fun trip to film. And the honeymooning couple let me use their footage from the ground.

There we around 20 of us, we never counted exactly. What kind of "upgrading" do you mean?

@ExploreTayo there's an option to pay another $30 or so and it's a max of 12 people. I just want to be in the side, not somehow get stuck in the middle of people. You know, window seat not isle 😉😆

@@furincleavage8136 we were both in an "aisle seat" and the burner apparatus took up most of the middle so I don't recall anyone being more than one layer away from the edge, but the edge views were incredible so probably worth the $30.

Is baby riding allowed?
@ExploreTayo
@ExploreTayo 2 месяца назад
Well, I assume the question is do they allow babies to ride in the balloon, as riding a baby would be a real challenge for the baby... But, assuming the rules are the same as Cappadocia, then NO for children 0-5 years old. www.hotairballooncappadocia.com/Ballooning-FAQs.html
