yeah, Cranesbill's lore joke was actually pretty funny for once, along with the other major victories the plants bring: - actually decent designs and animations - decent, unique and novel plant effects that aren't too useless or too powerful (barring Batter's plant food and meteors hitting both extremes at once WHYYYYY) - interesting synergies that promote making unique builds (I especially like Capaci-Cone being unable to charge up while facing a horde being somewhat circumvented by placing it around electric plants, and said plants getting charged up in return when Capaci-cone is at a certain level) - a Jester W this episode was actually a pretty decent showcase all around.
@pillowmint4622 I think the damage of Pike Hoya's basic attack is too high but that's tame compared to other plants we've seen (and the gimmick is really neat too)
Wow, I think this might just be a coolest batch of plants yet. Capaci-cone and Gorgon Pitcher looks super fun to play around with, and Burdock batter too.
Okay, Gorgon Pitcher is amazing. First, top tier design, they hit it out of the park. Secondly, a unique and fun gimmick. Yes, Medusa Zombies do the same thing, but this is more interesting because it’s a plant that can be both a help and detriment, along with giving Grave Buster an actual purpose besides Dark Ages and Ancient Egypt. Overall, Talkweb may have fumbled the bag with plants, but man, they made a straight up banger with Gorgon Pitcher.
All we need now to see a Medusa's zombie get petrified by her and since she petrifies friendly zombies, it's gonna be funny to see her getting petrified for once.
I can see what they tried to do with burdock batter. A defensive/support plant that sort of gives piercing and stun, and can stop the more annoying zombies. Shame it’s not used, it’s a really good plant on paper.
Burdock Batter is actually a super cool plant, like Torchwood but a bit cooler. Gorgon Pitcher is really cool too, especially how she gives Grave Buster another use
Gargon Pitcher is such a badass plant. It's really useful and unique. Also it has some cool features like getting poison effect from poisonous plants. As well as giving more usage to plants that really need it like grave buster. Good job Talkweb, this is how you need to design plants.
I really appreciate the songs being listed throughout the video and the composers who made them being listed in the credits. It’s little details like that which make these videos stand out even more.
A small thing i have to appreciate with Pike Hoya is that the upgrades don't overcomplicate it with new abilities, they just make it better at what it already does
10:20 they reflect towards the ground because the code just reverses the pea speed values and changes the plant damage variable to true, while jester makes a clone of the object and deletes the original one on touch
Man, those plants are so much more quality then international slop we got nowadays. Their art style is coherent, and their gimmicks are far more interesting, like the salad that baits attacks and cabbage turning zombie into statues, which combos with grave buster. Shame on you, international.
4:07 I think I already understand why this bug happens, when this plant dies while the zombie is in the air the game gets confused, it can't erase the data correctly and that's why the game crashes
Seems the pike also has its spear discolored yellow when charged. I suppose it makes sense why it can't reflect those peas specifically, shadow peas are intangible, and maybe the electric ones too, and the goo would probably get stuck to them.
Honestly, with how good literally _all_ of the plants shown are for once, I'd actually go as far as to say that they're all (or at least some of them are) worth being ported into one of the mods! an event for Reflourished, perhaps?
I feel like Capacicone would fit really well, but it would probably need a nerf. Plus I don't want that absolutely adorable 10/10 design to go to waste.
I think that the answer to many of the differences between Jester and the two other dudes reflecting projectiles can be explained with my theory In the code, the two dudes’ reflect work by actually reflecting projectiles back to the plant that shot them, independent of lane, but still following the same or similar trajectory the projectiles had (in simple words, the two dudes change the direction of the trajectory of the projectile, you can prove it with threepeater) While Jester does not deflect projectiles, but instead absorbs the projectiles, erasing their damage, and then sending them back their lane Evidence of my theory is that you might have noticed that the two dudes reflect projectiles INSTANTLY, while Jester takes a while to send them back
You should do a tierlist for all plants in the Chinese version, including plants from international version that have good new level up effects, that would be awesome
0:37 Flag zombie is wrong, you can also tell by how the spear has a slight yellow aura around it. That will also tell you if it's angry (if you missed the animation).
The reason the Batter is able to hit parasol zombies but not excavator zombies it's because the game probably still counts the projectile as a pea attack, which usually is a straight lane attack. Also, they only deflect/get damage respectively from attacks that start as lobbed
WE ARE BACK !!!!! I actually really like the concept of Gorgon Pitcher, however I feel like she could do without the snake attack, the petrifying is useful enough on its own
Everyone talking about how useless is jester for not being able to reflect almost any Chinese exclusive projectile while parasol can’t protect from almost any lobbed attack from the Chinese version.
Burdock is actually such a cool idea, I could imagine having this thing up front behind the defensive walls, with primal peashooters to stall and laser beans to deal with crowds.
HELL YES 🎉 WE BACK Gotta say, even if the 2C plants are functionally kinda goofy, I really like their designs, probably more than international's current offerings tbh
Capaci-cone is such a cool plant, and I think it would be even better to play around them, like a full loadout with supports and occasional dps, while everything else comes from Capaci-cone.
