If the weight of the component is more than 5gms, is there any mandatory inputs. I mean whether I have add or enter extra information regarding the weight exceeded 5gm. I'm submitting IMDS for Rubber parts. It weighs 11.7 gms.

Hi there, I am working on IMDS... Is there a way we can cancel or delete the registration which has been accepted by the customer? Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question. Once an IMDS submission is proposed and accepted by a customer it cannot be deleted. This is part of the versioning protection process. If you wish to make changes to an IMDS entry, you can create a new version of the initial IMDS ID and make corrections to be resubmitted under the same IMDS ID and new version number, thus keeping the legacy data available in case of audit. Please note that to protect versioning, IMDS submissions need to be sent via the “Propose” button under the Recipient data tab. If you made an error and wanted to create a semi-component for example, but initially created a component, you could obsolete your entry and recreate a new IMDS Datasheet for the semicomponent. You will most likely receive a warning that an IMDS entry already exists with that Part Number, but you can overlook it in this case. Your customer will still show the initial incorrect entry in their system. Once accepted a part cannot be rejected. The rule of thumb is however, once a part is created in IMDS, it should always be associated with that initial IMDS ID. I hope this helps. Francois - Product Compliance Specialist - Tetra Tech

@@francois-xaviertorrentz9266 Do you have a tip for updating several materials in the component that need changing at the end of your step? I can generally copy a newer dataset and submit similar information quickly; however, the customer often rejects it if there are multiple IDs with the same description warning. So I am forced to change each material from the old submission one by one.
