Revisiting this great TED Talk after the Emir of Kano SLS was deposed today at the hands of Governor Ganduje. I thank God this Nigerian hero left the palace alive - and is free to fight another great cause and inspire us from a bigger platform against the injustices of the “vested interests” of Nigeria....I pray God will protect and guide him!🙏🏾

An excellent speech. I would urge all of us, Nigerian youths to ponder upon this and not only take action, but make also begin to realize it in our hearts that Nigeria is our one and only country. We must learn to live with one another and be patriotic. I pray and hope for a One Nigeria where all of us will refer to ourselves as just Nigerians, not Northerners, Southerners, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo or Muslims/Christians. We must be proud of our country. Violent is not ours.

I'm here after watching a video said, he was dethroned for speaking the truth. Which kingdom, village or ethnic group could ever think of dethroning an intelligent, well-spoken and germ of a leader. Oh my God, which world are we leaving in? Are people sick in their head? How can you dethrone someone for speaking the truth? They could have been happy for having an amazing and truthful leader like him. With this kind of attitude, what do you want to pass to the next generation? We northerners are often labelled by the southerners as illiterates due to the fact that some of us don't speak good English having forgotten that language proficiency doesn't actually determine how well one does in life. Unless we value what is ours i.e our language and stop continuing to quantify intelligence or brilliance based on the ability of one to speak a good English we won't ever appreciate the good minds that our great but battered Nigeria has to offer. When I went to south to serve I was looked down upon at first by my southern fellow corp members for the fact that I'm a northerner and that equates me with an illiterate boko haram. I stood up and addressed the matter maturely clarifying the misconceptions that many had about us and I'm sure many were agaped by just me being able to express myself with poise as if that is much of a big deal. unless we treat one another with respect, ours is the image of shame in the eyes of world.

It is really inspiring. The bitter truth indeed, and the hard way, the only way! What is even hard there, it is very simple as SLS has asserted. This idea if truly followed, will obviously change not only Nigeria, but the entire Africa. In Nigeria, another problem that we have, those using religion to falsely dupe ignorant youths, but change must come, come what may! It is now I understand why SLS supports fuel subsidy removal, because the money had never been utilized according to the said reason. It is very early this year, however, I could have termed this, as the speech of the year. But let's wait for other truth/actions to come. Thank you for telling the truth. Youth should save Nigeria!!!

If what he said about the second CEO of a bank which I'm sure is Erastus and the popular religious leader which I'm also very sure is Pastor Adeboye is true, then we are in deep shit in this country. Now we know why Erastus case is yet to be concluded. Good speech by SLS. Pity most of the audience probably get their daily living from parents or families with vested interest. Also with religion used to promote, protect and foster vested interest most will see it as way of life(faith/ destiny). Nigerians knowledge of self has to be changed and improved before we start fighting vested interest else the fight will just be a fight to replace one vested interest with another.

Well spoken and articulated. The only way to resist the vested Interest is by resisting organized religion and this can be done by not funding it. If they don't have money, they don't have power. Nigerian youths should be wise, organized religion is total enslavement of the mind and spirit, you don't need to be part of an organized body of religion to be spirituality fulfilled. Imagine a scenario in which you attend the same religious gathering with the bank CEO whose bank where you have saved all your hard earned money. The Bank CEO defrauds the banks and the head of your religious gathering intervenes so that he does not go to jail and he does not repay what he has stolen. Who will intervene on your behalf? Be wise.
