Ive been saying housing was the best option for the homeless since I was a child. My point is... I was a child and I knew this. WTF is wrong with people in charge??? They are overcome with evil
“The disposition to admire, and almost to worship, the rich and the powerful, and to despise, or, at least, to neglect persons of poor and mean condition is the great and most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments.” -Adam Smith, Scottish political economist (1723-1790)
Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs! Assess and fulfill the needs of the needy from the bottom up. Stop punishing people for being homeless or doing what they know to survive. Limit imprisonment to people who are an immediate physical danger to others, and jails to people who are 'perceived' as a possible immediate threat. If they are not found to be an immediate physical threat to others, release them from jail without bail, or prison without any further requirement except some probation (temporary oversight).
FridaKahla Theyre in the European Union. When I wrote that comment I had heard a lot of different sectors of economic news and world news analysts saying Portugal was the second most over leveraged and most in debt european economy with Greece being first.
This is unbelievably wonderful, finally those with commonsense are getting the State to try something new, something that works! God bless them for doing the right thing.
I have alot to say on this issue. I have been homeless here in california for over 4 years and it's not because of substance abuse or mental illness. I have been on a waiting list for low income housing for three of the over four years, because at first, I didn't know how to get into low income housing until I found someone that had a list of low income housing. I am still waiting and waiting and waiting. I don't qualify for anything but that. I also applied for section 8 and have been on list for 2 1/2 years. I'm on disability, so my income is not alot. The fact is the government is very corrupt, money hungry and don't care about the people, especially the poor. All these video's on what horrible things they are doing to the poor, homeless is a perfect example of that! The government is in fact is registered as a corporation for those that don't know and have big time control issues with controlling the population in the United States and elsewhere. They are a corporation that controls the population in the United States. They have violated the constitution all the time and act like they don't recognize the constitution. They are inhumane in my eye's by all the terrible stuff they do to the people of the United States. I wonder when people are going to wake up and start a revolution to take our country back? Nothing will change, but it will get worse and it is getting worse everyday, until we do something about it and take our country back. These pieces of sh...t in our government should be horsewhipped to say the least. They are nothing but a bunch of psychopaths running our country and if you don't know what a psychopath is look it up, it fits them perfectly. Rents are skyrocketing everywhere, especially California, minimum wage is not keeping up with that and inflation, so it's no wonder homelessness is so rampant right now. Homeless are swarming everywhere, in every city in the United States and there are tons of them in the millions. I'm not exactly sure how many millions, but alot. I didn't realize this until I became homeless myself, but I was astounded at how many I saw all over the place. Everyone and I mean everyone is only one paycheck away from homelessness. I even saw a video of a millionaire on you tube that lost his businesse's and became homeless, but atleast he has the smarts to go back up. I am disgusted with our government and am not proud to be here anymore. I am a patriot, but I hate the way our country is being run by a bunch of idiots that should go to prison for what they do and they want to criminalize the homeless. I have met plenty of homeless that are decent people and were struggling to get a job, some that I met lost their house to foreclosure or they lost their job, so it's not fair for people to be stereotyping all homeless as lazy, drug addicts, alcoholics etc.... I met a few that were homeless that were going to college at the same time they were homeless. I, myself just decided to save, save, save money and buy my own piece of land to get out of this siutation, because I am tired of waiting. I live in my van day to day and just try to make the best of it and some days it's not easy to keep up positive attitude, but I try. I spend my days reading and exercising to occupy myself. I didn't get on disability because of laziness, I got on disability because I had to, but when I was working at jobs, I always had the reputation as the hardest working employee in the company wherever I worked. I don't know, I just want to live in the mountains away from difficult people and live in peace and do the things I enjoy in my old age now without being checked out by police or security for doing nothing wrong. I think the system is trying to criminalize everyone. It sure seems that way to me, when I see videos like this and other one's like it. Excuse my english, it is not my forte. I was never good at english, but math I was very good.
+Charlotte West I hear you loud & clear sister I myself was recently put on disability due to health issues I am not homeless just due to the help of family & friends but its a constant struggle trying to find some place I can afford v
My mind is full of the abuse of my childhood. c-ptsd, i can't do anything to help myself, physical disabilities too. No one cares if i die. just another waste of space
Here's a Good question, If drug addiction and alcoholism are a dieses how do they lock you up for something you cant control and then use it to make a money profit??????
+Thomas edwin Because it's people of color as well as a gross indifference to & lack of empathy for people with mental illnesses, as well as an inability to pay for legal defense.
Police officers aren't the only ones who need training. I wish there was a moral class course being taught in schools on being humane to other people. There's a lot of misinformed and ignorant people out there who don't research something before judging it and them.
what a waste of resources. What's even more sad is the police force and their complete lack of empathy. Why does a PO need to learn about justice/obeying the law, only after having been on the job for x amount of years?? Doing the right thing, apparently, is only done when one is FORCED to do it.
"Don't silence gun safety." Best line in the video. Doctors should be allowed to discuss any topic, including guns, with their patients and their families. It should be treated as any other doctor-patient issue, including possible malpractice lawsuits if a family believes they received harmful gun advice from a doctor. Most of these doctors are probably sharing common sense advice that most responsible gun owners follow anyway. This sounds like a gag rule that should be "shot down," legislatively speaking.
I’m so proud of these recovering addicts and the people and programs aiding them. I'm a recovering alcoholic. I had all the resources imaginable to help me get sober. I would have died had I been homeless. Today I’m alive, sober and happy. I’ve found my place in this world and so will these wonderful people. We’re finally starting to understand the causes of addiction and ongoing relapses. Please see this page: www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/the-real-cause-of-addicti_b_6506936.html
Wow, what if you could take a non-violent drug addict and send them to a treatment facility instead of racking up 50K a year in prison and making them hardened criminals...naw...that'd be just...a solution! hahahahaha!
wow usa what are you doing....sadly i no longer think of the us as the land of the free....how could you make homelessness a crime....how?!.... shame in that system.
I don't know about this law. If it purports to restrict the 1st Amendment that means it's a void law anyway. But doctors should stick to preventing disease and what humans consume, and warn them what not to consume such as fluoride in water, GMOs, vaccines, etc. See IssuesOutline > Environment and Health or link from my youtube channel.
The point is, why add it it to water? It's forced medication without specified dosage. Arsenic is also naturally occurring but we don't add it to water.
The working people I mean people that work hard jobs for no pay are tired. America is tired!!! Because you have to work 100 hours a week just to have an apartment that's it!!!
