My org sorted the missions by payout such that you need to have 5 missions with payouts of 10k 12k 14k 17k and 23k which will put your progress at 6/5 rather than looking at the progress numbers. I found out that if you fail to input the codes for the upload phase the servers will overheat and explode and the progress towards the upload that server was doing will be lost.
When we started this we had no idea what we were doing so experienced a fail, all that happens is it destroys the attached server and makes the progress go slightly slower, great guide!
Also it makes the other servers overheat faster and monitors in the bunker will still display a code for the servers that are already down so could create more confusion and chaos
Just about to watch the vid. Beware there are BUGS in this event. I have completed 7 missions that ranged all the way through Lvl 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 5/5. It only records 'completed' Lvl 1 and 5... ALL my Lvl 2,3,4 are 'converted' into being recorded in History as 1 OR 5. I have written in Spectrum and to Concierge. Other in Global have have similar problems. I suggest DO NOT start half-way as I did at Lvl 2/5 then go BACK to do 1/5. Be patient and do them in order even if peeps say you can do them in any order. Also, do it in ONE sitting with ONE group and ONE Leader sharing. None of this was mentioned by CIG in the event website page.
Yeah there are definitely bugs and the best way we found around it is to go with the lowest person (who hasn’t done any and is solidly on 1/5) then let them share. Tbh though I think CIG will air on the side of caution and as long as you’ve done x amount of missions they’ll count you as completed and give you the award (at the end of the day they wanna sell F7C Mk2’s 😂)
The buggy “1/5” for all missions can be countered - by ensuring the payment for the missions are different, from 10,000 to 23,000. But you are also correct that a group should stick together to do the entire mission chain together.
Completed this with a group of 3 had a great time and bagged the heavy armour on the 5/5 mission, this was the best mission I’ve played with SC as it rewards teamwork.
Very good through video! I've been looking for tutorials on how to do these types of missions and they were either too vague or didn't explain it at all, except this one. So good job on this really appreciate it

Cheers David, chances are you’ll need a pickup group to complete this - I think you could solo mission 1/5 but the others you’d seriously struggle on. 5/5 is probably impossible on your own. The good news though is people are very willing to help each other so even if just using general chat you’d get a pick up group to run with.

I just wanted to get a little better at the game and piloting before i burden other players so I've been doing most of the game on my own. But of all the orgs i've heard about, I've been most attracted to yours.
I did these the other day with a rando I met on my server, it was good fun. We were lucky to have the missions go fairly smoothly for us (apart from having to server hop to get the 4th mission to pop up) but I know that for missions 1 - 3 we were the only people on our entire server to actually be receiving the missions in the first place, so there's clearly a problem there. Also we did the entire mission chain (excluding the 3rd mission) with only 2 people and its perfectly doable like that if you cant get a larger group together, it just takes longer.

JFYI, each time you don't complete to input the code in time, the corresponding server is destroyed. Loose enough servers and you can't complete the upload => Mission failed
Mission is decent but really just a slightly longer bunker clear out mission. After a couple it was redundant and just knocked it out to get the full completion. Most of the enemies were typical stuck in elevator NPCs so using the enemy weapons was more than enough firepower to complete these missions.
I have found the cooling station farthest from the hack terminal is no audible if you are at the terminal. However, the terminal screen displays a warning banner at the bottom when one (or more) starts the over heat process. You do here the critical alarm from the unit farthest away. Failed entries results in a 5 second cool down. Failure to start cooling destroyes the cooling unit. No damage to you if you are right on top of it when it fails.
I was trying to make it solo. Doesn't seem posible to complete it alone, I guess. Is it time framed? In my first attempt the mission failed, I had to do 2 uploads (a yellow marker was on) on upper levels. I don't know what I gad to do, as guards kept me from getting there
To answer what happens if you miss a code, the server will fry and you will have that upload fail and reset the progress for that specific upload (I.e if you are active on 3/4, the upload will fail and you will remain at 2/4 and another server will take over the 3/4 upload attempt). I will say that it forgiving but while not tested, you probably have like 1-2 code fails before you lose the mission.
So do you get the f7a upgrade after completing these 5 missions, or after completing all missions of all phases? Considering putting in the effort if it’s not the latter. i just don’t have the time
Regarding missing the code: a server will overheat and become deactivated. We had this happen when we couldn't find the code (glitched or were we just unobservant?). This appears to reset the transfer time since a new server has to start uploading. From what I recall, an overheated server will be visually different as well; smoking and stuff. Additionally, I hear that you can lose all the servers to fail the mission, though that didn't happen in my group.
is there a fix for none of the screens showing the blue box popup with 4 digit code, after turning off/on cooling for a server and it prompting for the code?
Thank you for the video, it's helpful info! For what it's worth in 1/5 as you fail codes the upload pauses and servers melt, fail enough and they all melt causing mission failure. You can get the mission again, just have to wait for it to pop. No idea what happens if you fail further on in the chain.
Also what i was wondering, do you just need to do 5 missions in total or all the 1/5 - 5/5? Because ive done like 10 missions but they were all 1/5 - 4/5 but never got the 5/5. It did say on the hud that im at 5/5 but the mission in the mobi glass showed that they were 1-4/5 levels as well as their payout.
I think technically you need to get the actual 5/5 (the one with 6 uploads). That being said it’s quite buggy particularly if you move around groups at all and I would imagine CIG will be quite forgiving (they do want to sell ships after all!)
This is vaguely cool as an event series, but also I think the reward will be a gigantic nothingburger. There’s no way they can have a ship that only a small subset ever get to access that is so OP it can for example outdo a crewed Hurricane, which is what some people are claiming. Then it becomes pay-to-win, which hopefully nobody is in favour of.. ultimately I’m all for a lot more achievement / play related unlock of things, because pay-to-win would be a terrible path for Star Citizen to go. As it is, the ship pledge model already means a major advantage after each wipe for those of us with for example large cargo haulers, salvage, mining etc from the outset instead of just a starter ship.
I think there should’ve been a more meaningful in game reward like an armour set or something - I’ll be advocating for this from the next vid onwards 👍
Great video as always! Don't know how i feel about how often they do extra salles now in addition to the usual once over the year that in combination with them laying off staff makes me kinda question there financial situation. Could be way off doe.
Cheers Aimes! I don’t think there’s too much to worry about though (published accounts are all solid and the letter from Chris that dropped this week cleared up a lot of layoff speculation). If anything I think it’s likely that they’re gearing up for the marketing spend on Squadron 42 and are trying to build a war chest for that.
I am so curious to see how they rebalance old ships with so much power creep in new ships. This is the same size ship as the mk1 medium fighter but has heavy fighter firepower. Pretty sure the F7A mk2 has 600dps more burst firepower than the Vanguard series when both are equipped with max size laser repeaters. In sustained firepower the vanguard eeks out 30dps more damage. Vanguard carries an extra 4 s3 missiles but we know how effective those still are in game.
This is definitely an element to be considered but there is always the final lever of power balancing - price. In game UEC and Reputation cost will mean that some ships are allowed to be simply better than others on certain measures - it’s not like say a moba where all champions have to be equalised.
Very frustrating event. Completed 1 of 5 three times, 4 of 5 twice, and 5 of 5 twice. Got the ‘mission completed’ message on 6 of the seven missions (one of which we had 3 servers blow up - only two of us played that mission and I had 3 servers beeping at once on two of the uploads). One failed to be recorded in my mission history at all. Two of the three #1s show as completed and one shows as failed. One each of the #4s and #5s show as failed and one each show as completed, giving me a total of 4 completions… I haven’t seen 2 of 5 or 3 of 5 pop yet. I wasn’t always the one accepting, so I’m sure that’s part of the problem. I hope to see the ones pop up that I haven’t seen yet, but…
Just to answer what happens if you dont find the codes: The servers overheat each in turn, and once they are all overheated/destroyed, the mission fails. Ask me how I know :)
If you fail to enter the code in time the firewall overheats and disconnects from the server and your upload progress resets. Thankfully just the upload youre on, not the entire thing. It will be down and not possible to bring it back up. It feels like thats a fail mechanic, but with 10 servers youd really have to mess up.
i tried this mission. i have a budget pc. it did not go well. but before it really went not well, i can tell you that if a server overheats then the upload switches to a different server and the first server is unuseable.
It’s like 99% likely you’ll find one; but we did have one mission where we screwed up and didn’t bring one, then ofc couldn’t find a single one in the whole place 😆
WTF? How did you do the mission when the quest system doesn't work? Like seriously the devs must never had played this game because it's impossible to actually do any of these missions.
I think there should’ve been a purely in game reward (an armour set or something - the XT heavy armour is cool af in my opinion). I’ll be advocating for this from the next vid onwards since there is still plenty of time for CIG to correct this.
