I contacted Minister of Fisheries . Was told video was taken in 2014 when catch limits were 9 per person. I still think their boat should have been confiscated. Pure greed on their part!

Well good. Considering populations i think there are some limits that need revisited more often, but I totally agree for the need of conservation. Here in the US, I'm just getting into learning the bag and size limits of the Texas Gulf Coast, and there's a lot to remember. But if I want to keep going out, I'll follow every rule.

I never understood the point of this. Get your limit then go home and drop them off and go fishing again. Cheaper to pay for some extra fuel than to pay fines.

Maybe breath testing for alcohol and lick the stick to. Check boat reg and trailer and car reg and boat licence. And check safty gear life jackets and so on. Also ask of they know of any other crime in the area.

Jeeze some of the people in the comments are a bit harsh... One bloke reckons they should have lost their house! Nothing wrong with taking a bit of snapper home for a feed. Everyone knows the forbidden snapper taste the sweetest.
