Oh, snap it’s Evans I was just watching a couple of your videos this morning I enjoy your contact, especially when you’re working on Hardtail’s lol getting back to the bike it could be a jumper, but I’m mostly a trail rider. I am a full standup rider and I’ve learned to ride with just one break. I’ve been doing this for years. You have great contact by the way.

Nice video. I liked the music you chose for the rebuild. I was hoping you would make the build faster and lighter by using higher quality parts instead of removing 4 pounds of components. I saw you added some higher quality parts. Any chance you could do a similar video but add back on, high quality parts you left off? Curious on weight and performance then. Thanks for making the video.

I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video. No the bike was built for my style of riding . it’s definitely not for everyone. The only thing I think I would never book back on is a dropper post. That’s because I’m a full standup rider. I will be thrown back on the four piston calibers my 1 XTR brake. it’s coming off and that will be explained in my next video for good reason and my budget is split between three projects, biking high end, RC build and drag racing so my bike budget is down for now, but more higher in quality parts will be going on the bike, but like I said, not a dropper post. Thank you for watching again I appreciate it.

Good question, because it wouldn’t hurt to have extra spare parts lying around and plus the components on a bike are a lot cheaper if you just buy the whole bike as compared to sourcing it out

Interesting build, you probably purchased the wrong bike. A procaliber would have suited your needs better and been lighter right out of the box. Our 2023 Roscoe is 27lbs and a complete trail bike, not missing parts to cut weight. Curious of what terrain you usually ride? - Tyson

Double black diamond trail’s and the precaliber head tube angle, is too steep for me even though the Roscoe comes with a 65 head tube angle, I’m running it at 60° where I found the sweet spot for me but if you check out my channel, you can see the bike has completely changed to be built as an Enduro bike

@@hardtailrider7172maybe install a smaller downhill cassette and derailleur and keep the front brake. You’d save a bunch of weight going to like a 7 speed downhill setup, and you clearly don’t need the huge granny gear where you’re at.

@hardtailrider7172 Год назад
Thanks for the advice I’ve actually been looking for 7speed cassettes that will except micro spline i’m working on my bike as we speak and the XRT brake is coming off. it worked great for my 21 pound bike but I guess 3 pounds more can make a difference and especially the weight of the rims and tires compared to my old set up so yes, I’m most likely gonna throw the four pistons back on even in the front instead of 180 in the back, I’m gonna go with 160 rotor and then the front drop it down to a 180
@ChrisRidesHisBike
@ChrisRidesHisBike Год назад
@@hardtailrider7172 seems they only make 10 speed downhill still for microspline. But looking at the cassettes, they’re literally half the weight of a 12 speed microspline cassette.

If I took a roscoe 9 apart and found the things you found, I wouldn’t let that go. I would expect that from a 500.00 Walmart bike, not a bike shop bike. Disgrace. Otherwise, beauty bike:)

Why buy a "harecore" hardtail when you could just buy a cross country hartail and end up where you seem to want to be... seems a waste of time and effort. But then again i ride my "hardcore" hardtail slow on fast trails ao whonreally cares.
