I love this show especially the people who rely on the railroad to get into civilisation. Nancy and her crazy husband were lovely people. One thing irritates me is when repairs are needed or the line is blocked,there always so much urgency, the train is coming, panic stations and I don’t believe that it’s always the case just because they play a background track with is giving the urgent sounds.

oh for sure man, they would never even risk a discrepancy of worktime to even remotely allow a collision to even ... ever happen, thats why these people are so hardy and on time, if you fuck up out there you are stuffed for a few weeks maybe months

You prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend lately :)

wow the brake shoe only seemed to be 1/4 the wheels surface? i thought trains especially large haul in varying inclines of terrain were safety standardised to 3/4 coverage? i hope this is like, 10 year old footage lol

No, Train brake shoes are only touching the wheel (only the shiny bit as touching the flange would cause issues). But most of the time you use your dynamic brakes (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_braking) and train brake in combo for easy stopping. Its been that way since steam and really doesn't cause issues
