This time, we went on a 1000km overland exploration trip in the Rhodope mountain in a group of three 4x4 vehicles - the Suzuki Jimny along with a Jeep Cherokee and a Nissan Patrol. An offroad adventure that takes us back in time hundreds, even thousands of years.
We visit some astonishing places in Bulgaria that tell amazing stories - From the ancient history of the Thracians to early medieval Byzantium - on this overland adventure trip we uncover cities lost in time, conquer the steep walls of old fortresses, and admire picturesque mountain views.
The terrain was challenging as we cross a variety of muddy tracks, washed-out roads, river crossings, snowy hills, and icy slopes.
