I would say instead of using the flip kit you bought, just flip the axle and use existing perches. doing so will also raise the lower pinion up out of the way. No need to worry about the axle driving since it is just a trailer.

That was my first thought too. I flipped it over and it leaked fluid all over the ground right out the axle vent. I would have to plug it and re-tap a new hole for it to work. I have an alternative with some old AALs that I have that I believe will work and possibly extending the rear shackles if needed. New episode on it soon! Thanks for watching!

@@pickettbuilt2686 I did not think of that. I think it would be worth flipping it, welding the hole and make a new one, just to get the clearance on the pinion. I seen in another video where a guy removed the pinion and welded a plate in its place. sheds a little weight in the process.

@@aaronbutcher7321 just measured and I have about 10” of clearance to the bottom of the dif which matches my 4Runners clearance. I see what you are saying and that’s definitely something to think about. Thanks for the input!

@@pickettbuilt2686 I think you guys are on the right track. plug the breather hole and drill and tap a new one on the other side. and the drum idea will work. leave them off.
