Great show! One thing I’ve noticed is that there is always “epic” music playing during the many b-roll sections.. id personally love to hear the natural sounds of the bush instead.
Great Video and Tuli reminds me of my own place here in India with elephants, striped Hyena, leopards, sloth bear, wild dogs, Gaur or wild cattle and the majestic and greatest of all cats the Tiger. Thanks for a wonderful video.
I recognised Joe's voice. Joe Mazibede. He is a cyclist, Cape Argus and an amazing birder. He learnt English from his Newmans bird Book af a Tracker and quickly became a top Mashatu Guide. I worked with him in 1991/92
Top line production. The best yet! Enormous amount of work went into shooting and editing this video. Your passion for Botswana is reflected in every clip.
HI Ryan, the shooting and editing of the video is very high quality image. This emphasizes the beauty of Africa. Thanks Top line production for those beautiful videos.
Wife and I got the camp site right next to the ablution at South Camp last September, parked between the trees because the elephants were walking on either side of the site for 2 days straight - a dream.
Great video - thanks for sharing. There is another site at Thulamela in KNP - all fit in with Great Zim Ruins. Thulamela is a must visit when next in northern part of KNP.
Beautiful. Makes us want to see more of Botswana. Great sightings, but brown hyena, wow. I get a little lift when I see my name at the end. Makes us fel part of things. You, Ed, Chris and Bruce have inspired us to get back to Africa after a 4 year absence. You said the lithium battery wasn't working well in the heat, well as a Canadian, I can tell you, they don't work well in extreme cold either.
Hey Doug, thank you mate. I really appreciate your comment. And yes, wish we could do more for you than just a name at the end. We will get there legend. Yes, lithium . . . a bit of a revolutionary conundrum that I’m sure will advance. I saw somewhere that sodium-ion batteries have made a revolutionary turn, with future forecasts looking good. Maybe better things to come. I’m not unhappy with lithium, my end result was to purchase another 108 amp/hr, and this seems to be the solve between a balanced useage and charging state for my useage. Magic
Sounds good Doug, and I hope we are around at that point. No plans as yet for that time, but, keep in touch and we’d be happy to grab one with you. Have a good one
Thank you so much Ryan for sharing this stunning video. Sitting here in the warm and sunny UK I can’t quite get my head around the temperatures you describe or driving around the bush in an open-topped vehicle with all that amazing wildlife so close. Thank you again. Keep safe. Philip.
The length of the video is so amazing but seemed to short though cos it's quiet a magic still wanted to see more, this is true adventure man keep the great job up Ryan i real enjoyed 😉
My favourite RU-vid channel and it is (4x4 ventures) Ryan keep you on the edge of your seat have learn so much from him and Ed and Christof. The Ranger is a beast Ryan, animal sighting epic the Ellie welcome out of this world. Camping wow and the lions calling during the night epic brother.Botswana on my bucket list
Yet another awesome episode Ryan. Your 2.2 Ranger looks fantastic, where everyone else plays it safe with Toyota's.... Rangers lead the way 😀, your truck stands head and shoulders above the rest. Looking forward to the next episode boet.
Ryan, I always anticipate your videos! Worth waiting for indeed Your footage, commentary and zest for life are so thoroughly entertaining. Hurry up though for more episodes.. Come on win the lotto and do one every day 😂
amazing overlanding video. I love Africa. So this video is so special for me, your videography and editing skills are highly appreciable. Keep going. All the best, From Kerala, India
Good day. Thanks for bringing the wild to us through your episode. I'm watching here in Botswana at Serowe. I really enjoyed and that heat did not have mercy on you😅. I once saw you in one of your videos I can't remember which one with one gentleman who offers 4x4 training...... Is it a long course or even if I can visit my brother that side for 2 weeks I can enroll or if you have any info about it.......cheers
Another great video Ryan. You and Ed make a great team and present great content. Maybe you need to move the batteries inside the air conditioned cab or divert a pipe from cab to battery case. Whatever you do don't charge lithium below 0 deg otherwise you will do irreparable damage.
Excellent episode as always Ryan .. I follow all your blogs .. fantastic sightings .. the weapon Joe was carrying would probably be a .375 cal. That’s the minimum calibre a guide is permitted to carry in areas where there is members of the big-5 ! Keep these series coming .. much appreciated to you and Ed ! Go well ! 🙏🏻
Hey Ryan, with this video you have really exceeded anything in the past. The incredible sightings, the banter between mates about birding (not bird-watching) - the quality of videography and editing is extremely high here. I just have ONE complaint : I wasn't there with you guys! Thank you very much for sharing, my biggest item in my bucket list : a Botswana trip with you guys. The things that dreams are made of. Keep up the good stuff!
What an incredible and epic adventure to Botswana again... Always love your passion for this magical place. Maybe you Chris and Ed must plan more trips with Epic Africa... That would be awesome
Hey Ryan, This video is absolutely fantastic.. Thank you for sharing such amazing content. The incredible sightings of all the wildlife must have been truely epic. As a person who is from Kenya and how lives in the UK i can only dream of such adventures. Yours and Eds amazing content really touches my heart in all your videos.. thank you so much.
Hi Ryan, you 2 really go well together! Always nice to view your uploads. This one particularly good - well done!! Question - why do you run the fridge off inverter (220v) instead of the regular 12v?? (I have found on my National Luna 80L, efficiency barely visible between 12v and 220v.)
Hi thanks, in the first episode to this series I mentioned I ran into electrical issues. So I had to make a plan to run the fridge as the connector broke between main system. Thanks mate
@@4x4ventures_southafrica Hey Ryan , what is the advantage and disadvantages of a land cruiser , petrol verses diesel, for an African safari, and if the conversation is viable or not, to convert it to diesel. I want to thank you in advance for stealing ur time!
Excellent stuff as per usual, is Edd doing a video as well, he usually follows yours? How come it's so hot , in Zambia the suicide heat month is November, not Feb?l
@@4x4ventures_southafrica I get the feeling the seasons have drastically changed since the 70s, in Zambia rains always started 5th November every year, bonfire night, this cooled things down till about Feb, March, April, May chilly nights, warm days, June, July, August, hot but pleasant, September, October especially mad hot, horrible!!! Looking at videos from over there seems a lot wetter now as well, we never had grey skies, thunderstorm then sun came out, what happened???
Hi Ryan, great video, really enjoyed it and very informative. I've been to Nxai Pan twice before but do not recollect there being a waterhole right by the South Camp entrance. Can you please confirm its location in relation to south camp.
Thanks mate. If you are worried about the wetness on the pans, then remember that March is a month advised not to be in the pans. I think we were lucky as water was supposed to be on the Nxai Pans. Have a good one legend
Sorry what was the name of the river to do with elephants ..I’m curious tlou is the usual word for elephant but Tswana does have different pronunciation so I’m wondering if it’s a different one that I’m ignorant in
@@4x4ventures_southafrica I grew up in Botswana and I love watching you go there .. I asked some friends about the name and I found out some interesting stuff I would like to share ( they know a lot about history etc lol) Matlolo-a-tsie (Crossing of Locust) evolved into Motloutse over time.. I wasn’t trying to correct you but I love discovering new stuff and originally I got the name wrong hence why I asked Curious if anyone knows of when it changed if it actually did …. Maybe my friends have it wrong … I love a mystery
Hey Ryan, got to just say that your’s and Ed’s videos really have inspired me to get out there and see more of Southern Africa. To the point where I’m planning a trip myself up into Zim and a small bit of Botswana at the end of the year. Keep it up! Loving your work!
