I drive a Trailblazer 4x4 with the G80 and I've always felt that the chassis was more capable than the bumpers. I've really wanted to take it up some trails like this, but I'm nervous I'll explode an axle half way up a mountain somewhere.
Flagpole knob down to Meadow Knob... must be something I’m missing because looks like you went down by Switzer Lake and came out on 33. There are some other routes in there that are really cool too. Ill check out the other videos see if you guys found any of them. Believe it or not, I’ve done them all in my Neon.
Great video. About time someone showed that the Trailblazer was a decent overlander. Every other video I've seen on here is garbage. I love the Trailblazer but not a big fan off that Isuzu motor but it does have a good torque. The two Trailblazers I've had were very unreliable. But none the less great video. You should consider a hand held radio so you can talk to him through the Cobra under the dash.
@@JohnB-dr8sk I think it ran from 2004 to 2010 I don't know much about the 06 and up but the early ones with the 4.2 had a major issue with the fan clutch on them going bad. I put 6 OR fan clutches on in one year. Then two exhaust manifolds within 2 years. It constantly had an EVAP code that made it difficult to get through the emissions testing for about 3 years straight. Then I heard about an extended warranty that had been set for the fuel tank. There was a bad seem near the filler neck. It would cause an EVAP code that was usually associated with a bad gas cap. After changing the gas cap 4 times I found an article on the internet about the gas tank. It was not a recall at the time but GM did replace the fuel tank for free.
@@Jason4422Daddybear Yeah, it sounds like you got really unlucky and bought two that were already lemons, and that's why they probably kept changing owners. I won't buy any used vehicle unless I can verify it's history. Carfax can help with newer vehicles that were dealer serviced, but not so helpful with older vehicles that may have been serviced in places that don't report to Carfax. Best bet is to try and buy from the 1st or 2nd owner who has all the service records. Anything else is a crapshoot for almost any vehicle.
