My favorite Overlord episode ever. Renner singing and dancing like a fallen Disney Princess is just icing on the cake.

The personalities of the guardians are like skins that were put on by their creators. To me, mare is the most terrifying to meet as a human because his displayed personality and his actions are so different. He acts like a helpless child but is just as ruthless as the rest.

You know, normally Albedo HATES humans. But with Renner, she got along pretty well from the start. That's because the whole personality of the Princess is so inhuman, that she was more like a demon long before she used the Seed of the Fallen. And there are some preparations, the user must do for a race change. I don't know, what exactly but it's clear, that with a race change into a demon, it's something horrible. For exampe: Do you remember the Orphan Kids from one of the former episodes? They and the Women, who looked after them, were dead long before the Sorcerer Kingdom made it's invasion. Renner personally poisend the food to kill the children. And Renner sent Climb away, because she didn't wanted to see him, that SHE kills her own father willingly.

if you remember from the previous episode, Princess Renner gave food to the orphans, she poisoned this food to kill them so she could use Seed of the Fallen to turn her into a demon. You should also know that yes she killed her father the King with her own hands (without being forced by Demiurge). She has always manipulated Climb into believing that she is a kind and innocent princess incapable of harming anyone. She is a genius and Demiurge and Albedo see her as one of their own long before she was a demon despite the fact that they see humans as mere insects who should be happy to be crushed by their feet killed by they're hands. I remimd you of Albedo and Princess Renner having a talk about her plans for the kingdom and they're lover like they're already friend.

Mare is not sad about having to kill everyone in the city. She is just afraid to dissapoint Ainz by accidentaly letting people survive. On their way to the capital Ainz let her train on the villages and cities on their way so that she would learn which of her skills are the best for killing people in a city. For her this is like an exam after learning with Ainz. When she says: "Even though my powers come from (whoever her creator is again)" she does not lament that she has to use this power for murder. She is saying: even though I got these awesome powers I must be carefull not to fail.

Mare is such a sociopath that the author who had thought to write the next volume from his perspective had to change his plan because he couldn't imagine how such a sociopathic character would think

I love the fact, that since the start of season 2, Rennas evil side was already shown…. and now In season 4, we finally see what she was planning! Just to be together with Climb!

My favorite part of Renner's scene was it was exactly the scene in my mind when I was reading this part of the Novels ** Despite all of that, Renner still smiled. Her dream of the past was minuscule. It only grew to how wondrous it was now because she had met them. How lucky was she that she could realise such a dream through the simple betrayal and sacrifice of the Kingdom? She wanted to dance. She wanted to sing. The joy in her heart was overflowing. She was truly, truly overjoyed. Her brain felt like it could break from all of this happiness. Demons were immortal. Being locked up in here meant that she had just found shelter in the safest place in the world. If that was the case-Renner looked towards the door behind her. No. towards the young man sleeping on the bed inside. "Climb. Stay here with me forever-Let us exchange our first times today." Renner almost melted as she spoke. "Or should I treasure it more and stop myself short of that today! This is the first time I have been met with such a dilemma-aaaah, such bliss." **

[Philip walked slowly to the door. “Oy! Where the hell is everybody?!” He yelled as he kicked the door violently. He did not use his fist out of fear that it could hurt. No response. He clicked his tongue, opened the door, and yelled at the top of his lungs once more. “¡Are you all deaf! ¡I said I am out of booze! ¡Bring more!” Still no response. Philip left the room in a rage. The house was quiet. His father and his older brother’s family had all moved elsewhere because Philip wanted to make use of the main house. Only servants remained here other than him. While it was a noble’s mansion, it was only one befitting a mere baron. He could easily reach the dining room from his own room. As he opened the door to the dining room, Philip’s eyes widened. That was because he had noticed a woman in white, sitting upon one of the chairs. “Hoooh, ¿are you awake now? You took so long that I was almost about to head over to get you myself.” That was the Prime Minister of the Sorcerous Kingdom, Albedo. Her smile remained unchanged from the first time he had met her. She did not appear to be mad at Philip for what he had done. Suddenly, the thought that the Sorcerous Kingdom probably did not even give a damn about what he had done surfaced in Philip’s mind. Indeed. If they were truly mad with him, they would have begun their invasion with Philip’s demesne first. They had not done so however, so in other words, they were not mad at him. On the contrary, they should be grateful to him for giving them a reason to start a war with the Kingdom. Perhaps she was there to express their gratitude. No, no. Maybe she had not found out yet. Maybe they did not know that it was Philip who did all of that. Albedo’s smile was infectious, causing Philip to smile at her too. “T-Thank you for coming over to such a wretched place, Albedo-sama. I cannot believe that you had to wait here! I will definitely scold those servants later.” Albedo was stunned for a moment, before smiling wryly. “To have reached this extent is honestly impressive. I am somewhat in awe… fufu, I am here to finish what must be done, but before that, I have brought you a present. Do you wish to open it?” Placed on top of the table was a white box at least fifty centimeters wide. Philip regretted that he had stayed in bed for so long as he lifted the top of the box. A wonderful floral fragrance made his nose itch. With bated breath of what valuable item could be in this box, Philip opened it up and peeked inside. It was Baron Delvin and Baron Rokerson’s heads. Had they experienced unbearable pain before they died? Their contorted expressions made him feel intense revulsion. “-Eeeek!” Albedo calmly spoke to Philip, whose body stiffened. “To have the gall to besmirch me? We had planned to prepare an idiot, but never in my mind would I believe that someone as stupid as you could exist.” ‘Woosh’, that was the sound of Albedo standing up. Her face was all smiles, but now that things had progressed to this point, even Philip knew. She was absolutely furious. If he did not escape this place, things would not end well for him. Philip turned around to run, but in his panic his leg tripped over the other, causing him to fall to the ground with a loud ‘bang’. ‘Clop, clop’, the sound of footsteps got closer. She had already made her way to him. “Now then - let’s go.” “No! No! I don’t want to go!” Putting up the minimal amount of resistance, he curled up into a ball. “Do you seriously believe that acting like a spoiled child could get you out of this situation?” He was pulled along by his ear, which sent pain to his brain so intense that he began to question if his ear was about to be torn off. “It hurts! It hurts! Stop!” “Then walk. Here, stand up.” Philip wanted to push Albedo’s hand, which still held on to his ear, away. However, even though her hands were thin and delicate as expected of a woman, her grip strength was far stronger than his. “It hurts! It hurts!” He was pulled into a standing position by his ear. His vision was blurred by his tears, yet Philip still punched towards Albedo’s face. However, his fists were easily caught mid-air, and then- “Hiyaaaaah!!” A force strong enough to crush bones was applied to his fist, which began to make crunching sounds. “…If you just walk, I will not crush your hands, how about that?” “I got it! I got it! I will walk! Please don’t do that again!” The force on his hand was lifted. “Why…? What have I done?” Philip’s sorrowful tears streamed down like a waterfall. He had tried his best at everything, but not only was he not met with success, he had never been treated like this before. ¿Why was he victim to such violence? ¿Why had nobody come to help him? ¿Had he been sold out to the Sorcerous Kingdom for others’ safety? They were all cowards. The whole lot of them, cowards. Albedo did not react to Philip crying for his fist and ear’s sake. She just walked forward as if he did not exist at all. Philip followed along without resistance, since his ear was still in her hand. They walked outdoors from the main entrance. “-Eeeek!” Philip shrieked at the sight in front of him. A forest had popped up in front of the mansion. But unlike a normal forest, this one was not made of grass and trees. A large amount of strangely shaped trees were there. They were like stakes with hands and feet. Impalement. The villagers had all been impaled. Men, women, old, or young were all impaled on stakes. Not a single one of them was spared. All of them were impaled from the rectum to the mouth. All of them told of their sufferings through their expressions, no exceptions. Blood spilt out from every orifice and puddles of blood formed at the base of the stakes. ¿When had they done something like this? It was impossible for Philip to not have noticed this going on. “This… is not a dream. I used magic to soundproof your room. It must have been really silent, ¿was it not? Haaah, if you were even a smidge smarter, you might have noticed something wrong… but from what I have seen, you were completely clueless up till now.” Philip tried to put all of his strength in his hands to release his ear from Albedo’s grip again. Albedo reacted by punching his face as she said to him. “I had considered letting the villagers execute you themselves, but that would be boring. That which I admire, Lord Ainz, had placed heavy emphasis on practical experience and training. That is why I wanted to test out some intel-gathering torture methods on you. You should be - of some use to me.” Upon seeing Albedo’s expression, which was a smile that looked like it could tear her own face off, Philip lost consciousness. “Haaah… this man, really…? Haaah, fine. After all, your father had requested me to, ‘let that idiot taste everybody’s pain!’ I shall keep my promise to him.” Philip could no longer hear what she had said.] And that was the beginning of Phillip's hell, a hell more than deserved. It was definitely the most satisfying part to read and I'm really sorry the Anime didn't get it right. Well Friend, it was a long journey but it was really fun to see you reacting to this Anime. If you want to watch the Fate series, I recommend you start with Fate Zero, although actually the right thing to do would be to watch Fate Stay Night from 2006, but its animation is already a bit old and you might not like it that much. 19:05 Philip's fate is way more gruesome in the light novel. Nearing his wits end, Philip desperately wondered why no one was coming to help him and immediately believed that his servants had sold him out to save themselves. With this mindset, he proceeds to curse them out while labeling them all cowards, until he was taken outside and found a forest of spikes that had been planted around his home; Spikes that impaled members of his family, serfs, and villagers that ever existed in his territory. Albedo then proceeded to gleefully explain of how she personally killed them all as an example to those who would foolishly attack the Sorcerer Kingdom. She had even briefly considered to at least leave a few of his villagers alive to execute him and have them vent their hatred and frustration at him for causing this tragedy due to his vanity for her own amusement, before deferring her choice due to deeming that to be to boring. Philip was then told by Albedo that she had a fate much worse in stored for him, promising to fulfill a request that his own father asked of her before he was put to death and make full "use" of him by using him as a test dummy for her "information gathering torture techniques" for future reference.

It goes all the way back to Season 2 as they flashed back in this episode to several little bits of foreshadowing. Renner revealed to her brother that an eighth location had been discovered only to cut to Demiurge getting a message about just that from Renner. Demiurge told them that Climb was not to be killed under any circumstances especially by you Shalltear. Princess Renner makes sure Climb knows to wear his very showy armor despite it being a stealth mission so that Nazarick doesn't kill him by accident. I remember watching that episode and finding it strange that they somehow miraculously got away from Shalltear. No, she let them go after seeing Climb with them. The reveal that Renner has been working for Nazarick since all the way back then puts every action taken into new context. It was handled perfectly. Renner's only insane desire is to be with her boy toy for all time so of course her one condition for serving Nazarick is that Climb cannot die. Nothing and no one else matters to her, not even her family.

The ending to this season is honestly one of my favourite from any series. Really left me craving for more!

The more evil part of renner is the stew she made for the orphans was actually posioned they were part of her offering to be a demon just as her father was, she has a very dark disturbed nature she hides well, its also why jnciv said she was the type of women he hated the most cause he could see the disturbed nature or maybe glimpse behind the mask

like the others have mentioned, I think Mare is just afraid of how he will disappoint Ainz if he fails to exterminate all the civilians and let some escape.

Honestly dude, kudos to you. U knew in the previous episodes that it was not Ains fighting the dragon lord, and now u understood the reference to welcome last human, u really paid attention to little details. And what Climb use is Rigrit's Ring: An artifact of the Thirteen Heroes, a ring that temporarily boosts the wearer's abilities by up to five levels when activated. Also fun fact: in the LN Renner is afraid of Ains because she really thinks he is scary smart, that is how good our boy Ains is to deceive people 😂

With this ending one thing I have to say because a lot of people just see stuff in black and white is that ainz is not evil for doing what he did. If given the chance the other empires would have done the same to him. They even tried to do it to him by attacking the great tomb and so on they tried to destroy him he did what any lord would do to protect their people and loved ones destroy all in their way that threatened them

it is not explained, but the princess has a class called genius, if you go to the overlord wiki you will find that few have it, it is a class that was not in the game from which Ainz comes, for that in the last episode she could use the sword , three more things, climb could have been treated better but the princess wanted to leave him in the worst possible state, second thing, do you remember the kids from last episode? they "helped" the princess to become what she is now , the song scene in the novel was not there but the author liked the addition 

Such a good final episode Kinda insane to think about, but Renner is might be the most evil person in this story

Hello friend, we reached the end and it is also my last comment, unless you dare to watch the Fate Stay Night series or the Aninewz videos about the Overlord Lore. In any case, thank you very much for reacting to Ovelord and for bothering to add an answer to each of my little contributions to understanding the events! The first scene introduces us to a saddened Mare, but not because he is going to kill a large number of people. In the novel they make it very clear that his fearful attitude is above all an act that is due to his programming, but this time the tears are real and are due to the fact that he is not sure that he will kill absolutely all humans on the first try. Then we see Rener doing the whole act of hiding the crown... In a place where Nazarick already knows they'll be. All this is nothing more than a pantomime to keep Climb away. Aura arrives at the magician’s guild to find the Demiurge item, there she finds Gazef's aging master, who by then is so weakened by age that he can barely do any of his important techniques, so Aura has no trouble killing him. In the novel, when Climb leaves the castle, he is met by a large number of aristocrats and knights on his way. All of them had been released from their service by the king and were allowed to escape, but they chose to stay and defend the castle until the last moment. Climb had always seen them as pretentious, but at that moment they seemed so heroic to him, that he almost gave up his mission to stay and fight alongside them. But when he was about to speak to them, he felt unworthy, because for the first time he understood that there really was a difference between a commoner like him, who only lived to serve Renner, and the aristocrats, who lived according to high warrior ideals that he could not comprehend. This part was quite emotional and very pleasant to read, because it vindicates the fact that there really were many men who were authentically noble. When Climb leaves the crown and meets Mare, the destruction described in the novel is much more intense and it is really evident that almost all the inhabitants of the capital are already dead. Then Climb arrives at the throne room and meets the Ice Virgins of Cocytus, who tell him a phrase that is the first clue of what is going to happen: "Enter, last HUMAN of this castle". We then see what happens in the throne room, which is a complete charade to fulfill Renner's whim, who wants Climb to always see her as "the perfect princess". But actually, killing one's father was the most classic way for traitors to show loyalty to a new emperor. Then Renner's transformation occurs. It turns out that the box that Albedo gave him in chapter 2 of this season contained an Item from Ygdrassil called "Seed of the Fallen" that allows a player to change race. To be able to open the box you have to meet certain conditions and one of them must be to kill a lot of people. In her encounter with Albedo, Renner thanks her for delivering a "poison" so we can deduce that Rennes poisoned the orphans' "last meal" and killed them all. For this reason, the crazy princess leveled up and was able to wield Gazef's sword without problems. Now Renner is a immortal demon of the Imp race and will live forever together with Climb, locked up in the "safest place in the world". Renner told Nazarick everything, including his soft spot for Climb because he knew that was the only way to gain his "trust". However, not everything is rosy. When Renner meets Albedo and thanks her for all his help with the charade, the Overseer of the Guardians tells her: - No problem, IF it's to get a talented individual. ¡Do not disappoint me! - In that "IF" Renner realizes that Albedo, who until then had always treated her with good will because they are both crazy in love, is now angry with her. And this is because Ainz himself chose to play the jester for Renner's pantomime despite Albedo not wanting this. Renner originally planned to hide some of her abilities when working for Nazarick, but now she can't and has to give 100% to stay valuable in Albedo's eyes. All this because Ainz wanted to play the villain. We know that Ainz did this simply because he felt nostalgic for his friend Ulbert, but Renner gets confused and thinks that Ainz really is a mastermind that surpasses even her and that he deliberately acted that way to completely trap her. So, Renner has joined the ranks of those who believe in the Overlord's "unfathomable wisdom." But the jokes, which is not shown in the anime, is that Ainz is also scared of Renner, because he heard from Demiurge that she is very smart and also she is not an NPC, so maybe Renner might be able to figure out that Ainz he's just pretending to know what he's doing. At that moment, the Overlord makes the decision to escape for a while and take a vacation to get away from Renner and decides to travel to Elfland, which opens the curtains for the next act. The part of the musical is not in the novel, but I thought it was very good. ¿Don't you think? The only disappointing part of this chapter was Phillip's ending, which was pretty toned down. In the novel it is much more graphic and also the fact that Albedo plans to do terrible things with the fool who helped humiliate her in front of Ainz. I really want to leave you here the fragment of the novel, but I think that doing them would be too long, so I will divide this comment in 2 and put it there.

It's been an incredible journey that I've gone along with you from the very beginning. My deepest regret in the whole thing is that you made me experience the dubbed first episode. Now, then, aside from that... One of the things I find people talking about is kind of what Climb says: "The kingdom would have been at peace if you weren't here." Unlikely. The kingdom wouldn't have been destroyed so thoroughly like Ainz did it, but it still would have fallen if Ainz hadn't appeared. Without the appearance of Nazarak, Carne Village would have been destroyed and Enri and her sister would have been killed. The trap by the sunlight scripture would have killed Gazef when he arrived, depriving the kingdom of one of its pillars. Followed by that, E-Rantel would have been mostly destroyed by Clementine, and Nfirea would have been her toy controlling an undead army. Brain would have probably been fine, doing the things he was as a bad guy leading a group of thieves, but he would never have redemption. The black scripture would have captured whatever they set out to mind control, and that would have given them more power. The eight fingers would have spread their drugs around even more, upsetting the powers that kept the kingdom going. With the lack of Gazef, the empire might have invaded for real, and destroyed either a lot of the area, or overtaken the kingdom completely. After all, adventurers aren't really war potential. The Dwarf kingdom would have been destroyed. Though I don't know what else would have happened because of that. The holy kingdom would have had a better time... no spoilers on what has been causing them strife. We'll get to see that in the Overlord movie when it comes out. Princess Renner and Climb... maybe would have gotten together. Renner might have helped someone else. But the lizardman couple wouldn't gotten together at all. So... as with anything, Ainz just created a changed scenario, and not one that was completely different from how it might have been.

Renner is such an insane character I love it

in case it wasnt clear, mare wasnt sad he had to kill everyone. he was sad he cant do it in one go and that there will be survivors

This is definitely one of those shows that has a high re-watch value. The story beats just click on the second time and at least I got same feeling as re-watching something like a mystery or heist after you know the big twist ending that changes your perspective.

mare wasnt against killing climb she was just ordered not to by albedo as renner wanted him alive. This is also why the white shalltear with yaldabaoth, stopped chasing brain after he cut her nail off

Poor, poor Climb, death would had been more of mercy than what was coming to him by Princess Renner. Princess Renner became demon soon after she gave (poisoned) food to orphans, reducing her alignment to -200 (?), that number, -200, is very close to what Demiurge, Shalltear and Albedo have. Seed of the Fallen changes your race to demon only if your alignment is low enough, otherwise it does nothing (or fails?). So with this in mind, in order for Climb to become demon himself, what would he need to do? Something similar will come for him.

In the book, Mare remembered how Ainz encouraged him. He was saddened due how difficult would be to kill everyone for sure, without any survivors under the ruins of the city or for wathever means, because humans are resilient. Then he remembered ainz, and that gave him de reasurement that he could find one spell he needs to wipe absolutely every human in the kingdom at once. Remember the box Reiner recieved many chapters ago? that was an item to change class. It requires certain number of souls to let the user changing class. This ocasion, a lesser demon. Remember the orphanage? well, las chapter Reiner gave them poisoned food so she could collect the souls of the children and caretakers in order to open that box. Finally, she recieved another box for Climb, but she delays the healing and sacrifices nazarick offered in order to make Climb suffer enough for her to attend him for as long as possible. She only lives to be praised for him, so she makes him suffer without him knowing so she can be the one that heals him and gains his praise/ loyalty/ love I need to add, the part with the "foolish noble" it might be too graphic for the anime, but in the book, albedo impaled all members of the mansion just outside, and let him watch the result of his actions after watching that. That is also why there where no one with him, but he was too drunk and angry to notice at first

I've been here since your reaction to the Overlord Openings. The way you actually react drew me to you completely. You would pause and talk about things and actually be a person. It was amazing to see that and I wanted to know your thoughts and feelings on this amazing show from the start. It was incredible to rewatch this show with someone who cared and was in-depth with it. So every time Rener visited the orphanage, gave them food, it wasn't to be good or charitable. It was to gain their trust. The last time she visited them all poison, killing all those children to grow the deamon seed that Albedo gave her (that box from the start of the season) it allowed her to turn into an Imp, which, a side effect of that is eternal life (assuming she isn't murdered) and the second one box she was five was for climb, so she can keep him as her pet for eternity. This class change is also why she could wield the sword so well in the last episode, she is much stronger than a normal human now

"She sold out her family to be with Climb" Now you know why the episode is called "The Witch of the fallen Kingdom" :D

Renner singing at the end accentuated and elevated her to god-tier level villain. The ultimate anti-Disney princess. Can't wait for the movie to be released. and i hope there is more seasons through the end of the light novels. Im not sure vol 18 is even finished yet. guess i ought to look.

Princess Renner is implied to be a "Yandere" type of character, something akin to Albedo. Yandere characters are typically known to be extreme in love, in the sense that they would resort to killing you if you even turned your head to another woman and then kill herself to ensure "you'll both be together in the afterlife". To contextualize Princess Renner, she loves Climb as her "puppy", so much so that she would kill. When given the opportunity to be immortal alongside Climb, she immediately took it. Seeds of the Fallen are race change items from Yggdrasil that turn the user permanently into a demon. It requires certain conditions to be met, mostly implied to be a sacrifice of sorts but afaik, they was never any in-depth info outside of that.

In order to activate a Seed of the Fallen, one must be evil enough or have a certain amount of "Karma points" that existed in Yggdrasil. Renner was obviously very evil but last episode as part of proving her allegiance she poisoned the whole orphanage that she visited. This is also what she meant when talking to Climb about proving his allegiance, he is going to need to commit evil deeds to activate his Seed. AND this might just be me, but lets be honest, Climb was always whining about how weak he was, so upgrading to a demon might not actually be so bad for him lol

I was waiting for this! By the way, "the seed of the fallen" Turns you into an imp, but first you need to have a certain alignment to be able to turn into one, renner used to be neutral, but turned evil by poisoning the kids and nuns in the nursery.

The box Renner had, that seed of devil, was opened by sacrificing the lives of the kids of the orphanage, just a little spicy fact mentioned in the novels. And Phillip, the dumb man that thought could become the husband of Albedo got what he had coming to him for attacking the caravan of food and changing the plans of the Sorcerer Kingdom, all the villagers and retainers that helped him do that, got impaled in front of his mansion and everyone at the end wished for him to suffer a lot more than they did before dying... Also, all that's left announced is the movie that premieres this year, so until then it was good to watch this series here

Thanks for the journey back through overlord, been a blast re-living the story so far since i last read through the light novels. Hopefully the next movie is just as good and a season 5 gets announced at some point.

Nice reaction. Not sure if someone's told you this but you might find it interesting. Mare and Aura's personality comes from their creator, Bukubukuchagma. She was a voice actress that fought with her brother and fellow guildmember, Peroinchino (Shalltear's creator). She wanted the twins to act how she though real siblings should. That the younger brother should be submissive to the older sister. That's why Mare seems so timid and unsure. He's still highly competent and decently cruel. Also I had forgotten the Hocus Pocus song. I remember it being amazing.

OK... Phillip's fate is way worse in the light novel. Only they really couldn't show much as the rating for the episode would go through the roof. Spoiler Alert ⚠️ While he is passed out, Albedo and the forces of Nazarick arrived. A spell is placed around his room so that he doesn't hear or wake up while they get to work. Albedo, after the scene, drags him outside by the ear, and what he sees drives him mad. Basically, think Vlad the Impaler's ultimate wet dream. Everyone in his province, young and old, has been impaled around the mansion. His father had been made to see some of this, which led to his last request to Albedo. This area also becomes known as the Forest of the Dead. Now, while Phillip is losing his mind over what he is seeing, Albedo explains his punishment. He is now her experimental torture doll... and that this is for eternity. So she and others are going to torture him to death, then resurrect him and start all over again. Moral of the story... do not make Albedo mad Also, a side note to anyone who missed it. The cube Ains gave to Renner that turned her into a demon. In order to get it to work, she had to do something really evil. Remember when she asked Albedo to thank Ains for the poison for the food? That was for the orphans 💀

First spell Ainz tried at season 1 upon coming to the world: Grasp heart. Last spell Ainz uses in the anime in season 4: Grasp heart

To trigger the box for her to become a demon, she had to kill the orphans she was watching over (thats why she mentioned poison), and kill the king herself. She wanted to become immortal and have climb to herself forever.

Full marks to Climb for absolutely unflinching bravery in the face of beyond-impossible odds. Gazef was several times the warrior Climb is. He was more experienced, had better armor, multiple martial arts, and more experience with Razors' Edge. And Climb did not hesitate. Sebas' training showing its results here; absolute death awaited him, and the only fear he had was for Renner's sake. Also in regards to 'testing' Climb's allegiance, it will likely be giving him a strict time limit to open his Seed of the Fallen, which requires a VERY low Karma score. His 'test' will likely be willfully engaging in acts of wanton violence against innocent people. Which, considering Climb's whole deal, might just break him as a person. Honestly, I'd watch the fk out of a spinoff that's at some far-future point in time where Climb is a legit badass in service to Nazarick.

14:37 The box Albedo gave Rener all the way back to S4E2, was a seed that allows you to change your class to demon. But for that to happen, you need to build a lot of negative karma. Remember that scene when she went out of her way to feed everybody in the orphanage? All the kids and the staff? And now that she's talking about poisoned food? Poor people, that's a painful way to go. She also killed his father willingly. That's more negative karma.

Mare isn't saddened by having to kill them all, he's worried he may fail to destroy the entire city and everyone in it with one spell. During the conquest they've been experimenting with various things to see how they go (Airdropping the undead horses for one city) and Mare has failed to one shot cities a few times but Ainz encourages him to learn how to better combine his skills and spells to do better and be more efficient. Renner had Climb store the treasures in a safe place (so Ainz could have them recovered safely rather than accidently destroyed. Renner has never been... "normal" and looks as other humans as stupid and emotional. She only became more normal presenting when she saved Climb from dying in the street (starving orphan) and has been willing to do anything to live with her pet. When Ainz showed up, they reached out to her as an 'unusual' individual and she happily sold out the kingdom to spend eternity with Climb safe in Nazarick. So climbs been an 'off limits' person of interest for some time now. The nobles who survived didn't survive because they surrendered but after the Katze plains incident they reached out to Ainz and became double agents then knowing the Kingdom stood no chance against them. Essentially Marquies Raeven and some of his closest associates. The box contains a 'demon heart' it's a race change item that lets someone become a demon, Renner did a lot of what she did in order to be able to use it, so Climbs going to have to do some pretty horrific acts in order to be able to use his in the future. Given his obsession with Renner this is probably going to happen. Finally Renner CAN be good with a sword one of her classes is 5 levels of "Genius" a VERY rare class that can act as 5 levels of any class... so lvl 5 wizard OR warrior OR General etc as needed but not at same time. (at the end of the anime she's a lvl 1 Imp, lvl 4 actress, lvl 5 genius)

love how they show everything since the start once they worked together with the princess and came all to this moment at the end. Climb is the King of Simps lol. remeber that orphanage? she sacificed them all ,using the posioned soup. her only goal was for her and Climb tobetogether, anyhting else not matter to her and she would do anything to get waht she wanted even if ment giving up her family and kingdom.

Sadge that series is finally coming to end. I always felt most sorry for Climb because he was just as honorable as Brain and Gazef. Gazef loyalty was towards kingdom, Brain his swordskill and sadly Climb simp for the wrong person Renner. If he didn't have all his eggs in her basket he would have gladly accepted death like Gazef and Brain as a proud warrior. Looking forward to new reactions and votes.

Just as extra info: transforming a human into a demon requires two things: a magic item and a sacrifice of lives. The items Albedo helped Reiner with are the magic item needed and the poison for the sacrifices, which she gave to the orphans and offer their lives.

With Mare he is not upset about all the killing but is upset that some will escape and is trying to think of a way to kill the humans without alerting any of them so that none can flee. So he is giving himself that pep talk saying that he can do it with the powers he has. When Climb is noticing how quite things are that is showing you that Mare did succeed in killing without alerting anyone. Also the ring Climb had was a wild magic item that allows a person to boost abilities and level temporarily, this includes someone like Ainz who could boost past max LVL. With Renner she has been a demon since after the orphanage, she poisoned all the children as a sacrifice for the seed to change her race.

Renner fufilled the requirements of becoming a demon when she 1) poisoned all the orphans at the orphanage and made sure to kill the curators as well, and 2) when she killed her own father. -400 karma, get! Demon evolution has begun! now she just needs Climb to do something similarly as atrocious to become a demon along with her

also the fact renner could cary, wield and run with a sword larger then herself without breaking a sweat is a hint

Welcome to my final comment, I'll keep it spoiler free and not mention some of the stuff that happens in the movie coming out but this comment is still gonna be massive. Firstly: congrats on making it to the end of the anime and seeing the true Princess Renner. Mare isn't sad that he's about to massacre the civilians, he's scared and anxious that he's going to fail the task given to him; "Do not let a single person survive." He's just seriously unsure of himself and scared of failure. Albedo went to Philips mansion and put up a barrier around Philips room to make sure that he didn't hear a single thing of the torture and massacring going on all around the rest of the building. Right before Philip enters the room Albedo had already removed the barrier and was about to go looking for him but he was nice enough to happily greet her. The heads in the box are his two compatriots and his father's. After the Battle of Kahtz Plains, where Ainz killed Gazef, Raeven fled to his domain and hid there then when Ainz began his secret march towards the capital Raeven gathered some local lords under him and went to Ainz. In exchange for his help to silence rumors of towns being wiped out, he would be allowed to continue to rule over his domain and he would be the sole survivor of the Invasion. All about Renner: So in this episode she is already turned into an undead, via that Seed of the Fallen box she was previously given. If you remember back when she was given the seed Albedo asked her "do you know how you will open it?", because it's similar to DnD how a player becomes a Lich (you have to do some heinous evil acts). Remember last episode when Renner visited the Orphanage and she told the nuns "there's plenty of food so make sure you eat plenty yourselves"? You know, the scene where you said "it hits your right in the feels"? That food was poisoned, by Renner's hand all the children and nuns in the orphanage died shortly after she left, just as she planned to do when she created the orphanage in the first place, and this act allowed her to fully begin the change. Also in the previous episode when she lifted and swung the sword, she was testing the strength of her new undead form. All the way back when Demiurge first invaded the capital Climb had a version of Plot Armor protecting him from Ainz's crew, and this was the deal that was arranged between Renner and Demiurge. Renner has never really been fully human, she has always viewed the people of the New World the same as Albedo does, which is why they have such an honest friendship and why Albedo is glad to have Renner working directly under her, now forever. The reason for her outburst into song is because she was just SO happy and excited for the future because almost everything went flawlessly. If you look closely when she's shown meeting with Albedo for this last time she's scared and nervous because of what happened in the throne room. So when Renner first planned out Climbs death scene she expected to have Albedo or Demiurge act as his foil but she was horrified when Ainz showed up to act out the two-bit part himself. Renner was terrified because she was asking the Great and all powerful Ainz to act out this farce for her own personal selfish demands and to maintain the lie in Climbs eyes, to keep him looking at her like she's a perfect angel. So when she met with Albedo she was scared that Albedo would just say "no" because Ainz was involved in her selfishness and so in that moment every single thing she had done and planned was hanging by a thread because immortality would be meaningless if she didn't have her "puppy" by her side. Regarding the Seed of the Fallen, it's an item from when Yggdrasil was still a game, it was just a standard race change item that let someone change into a Heteromorph (non-human) but when Ainz came to the New World new requirements were placed on the item in order to activate it. Also Ainz is the only one who has these items, meaning Ainz was the only one in the entire New World that could grant Renner's wish (to live forever with her puppy by her side staring up at her in innocence and naivety). Alright so this is the final comment from me. It was a blast to watch you react to this series and I hope I could fill atleast a couple of gaps in this amazing anime.

To be fair Renner was a genuine genius but noble and royal women were just political pieces in their kingdom. Climb was the one thing that made her happy so she stopped at nothing to secure being together with him for eternity. She turned into a demon after poisoning the orphanage in the previous episode, evident in her increased strength when she swung Razor Edge. This was a pleasure to watch, gaz. Looking forward to season 5 reactions whenever that comes out.

Reiner was working with Demiurge since season 2 in a quest for being herself with her love. The kingdom was a chain for her and sold all to win eternal security under Nazarik power so she will make love with Climb freely. Nazarik won the best brain in this world in a 2x1.

In the end Ainz was the only one in the world with the power to grant Renner what she really wanted. She wanted to make Climb weak and dependent on her and be together with him for eternity. She sold out the kingdom and her family so she can live out all of her deepest fantasies and she is happier than she's ever been at this point.

Many have mentioned this previously, but the Overlord Anime is based on a series of Light Novels. This season covers books 10, 11, and 14. There will be a movie that covers books 12 and 13, and the author has stated publicly that there will only be 17 total books in the series. This means there will likely be another season of this anime that covers the final three books, some time in the future. So this season isn't the "end" of the series, just what has currently been animated so far. I hope you'll be on the lookout for the upcoming movie and the next season (Whenever that happens).
