Always fun to look back at your old videos just to see how far you’ve come. It’s odd seeing you hike in long pants and use a tent lol.

Sintax 77 is what got me and my brother out in the woods our first hike for the both of us we 80 miles in the smokeye and had 47 pounds of gear on our backs. Not knowing what to expect 😅 we where miserable but kept pushing. 6 days we did two days of over 20 mile walks and no less then 16 a day and boy thst was a trip. We did 400 miles in that year and since then have hiked every year and learn and grew with sintax 77 but love hiking!!

Backpacking Adventures (Rob) was the first one I started watching, great vids (got hooked on the Long Trail series) - and it's also where I first learned about Dutch. Then Sintax77 was second-- admired how he did all these solo trips, on weekends, and driving ridiculous distances to get to them.. Shug I found because I did a search on cold weather hammock camping- hard to beat his -40deg vid (for cold factor). Then I found you by doing a search on the Morrison loop, because I had just hiked it the previous weekend.. Btw- (off topic) last night, my wife and I threw up our hammocks (an ENO and a Hennessy) on the sailboat, went from the mast to the steel forestay- while anchored in a creek on the chesapeake bay- 20mph winds, no bugs, no tarps, it was an experience.. Next weekend hopefully is Dolly Sods..

I see you are from Moon Township! That's awesome man. I live in Center Township just north of you by about 15 miles. I'd love to meet up and do a hike or two with you. I'm a rookie and might slow you down though. Lol! Love your videos and I want to say they have helped me figure out my ideas for gear and stuff.

This is the video that got me hooked on your channel, while researching local hikes. After binging your content for a few weeks. I’ve finally come full circle and I just booked a site at raccoon for this Sunday.

I love Luke from the outdoor gear review, I'm a member of the wolf pack and now I've found you though him so all is good. I can't get out much due to mobility issues so I'm going to say the same thing I told Luke and that is thank you for bringing the outdoors to me.

I enjoyed your hike. I have seen a meteor shower like you talked about. It was Awesome! After such a strenuous hike I'm surprised you were able to pull yourself out of the sack to even try to watch the meteors. Good job on the video! I have the Thermorest pillow you mentioned in a different video and I love it! Keep the videos coming, and keep sharing food choices because it helps when you pass that along too. I would like to try the chili beef stuff you were talking about. Thanks

I did the same trips as you around Pgh. over 40 years ago as a kid in Boy Scouts. There were no bear worries then and backpacking wasn't fun. I really enjoy watching you slog through the mud, rain , snow, poison ivy , flies, ticks . I live in S NV. now and I can sleep out under the stars all year with out any of that good stuff. Have you been swimming a Koosier ? Coldest water in W PA

I'm glad I found your channel, I like it! I think you do a good job, your personable and you don't talk too much-just the right amount haha. And I got super excited that you know who Luke is, from the Outdoor Gear Review. He's one of my favorites. And you said that you thought slippy was a real word, but it must be a Pittsburgh thing? It really must be cause I live less than an hour away and I thought it was a real word too! What area are you from in PA? And keep it up man, i;m looking forward to watching more of your videos.

@FrozensAdventures 9 лет назад
Bobbi Pease Oh yea, Luke's one of the first people I started watching when I got into hiking, he and Sintax are still my favorites. Slippy should be a word everywhere, but alas just to us Pittsburghers. I'm near the airport in Moon township. Happy to hear people enjoying the channel, and thanks for the compliment, expect new adventures soon, just doing some conditioning with my friend so I can bring him along.

I'm heading to raccoon creek next weekend. I got camping permits for both camp sites on different nights and was wondering how strict PA is about where you camp. If I have Souix camp site booked Friday but end up staying at the other site would that be a problem?
@FrozensAdventures
@FrozensAdventures 9 лет назад
jdg5086 Really depends on how many people are there. I'm sure the park rangers don't mind but if it's full when you are there then you will have to make camp somewhere else. Personally I've only seen 3/10 groups there though.

@FrozensAdventures
@FrozensAdventures 7 лет назад
Park at the main office. walk up route 18 until you come a trail head on your LEFT. Take that trail all the way to Sioux camp site. from there head north and follow signs for heron trail. follow heron down to the spillway/dam then right on the road to heritage trail. make a left to stay on heritage and head all the way down to mineral springs. you can take the mineral springs look back to the main office and your car. then go see the lake on your way out. www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_003204.pdf
