Overnight Boat Camping | Secluded Island In Miami 

Thanks for sharing. We're up in Ontario Canada (near Detroit) and enjoy anchoring overnight by a uninhabited island in Lake St Clair from time to time. So quiet once the sun goes down, but a few small fishing boats start showing up around 5AM. Always good times out on the boat!

Great video. A suggestion - and I’m not trying to be a downer. Although on that night with the steady breeze it was not an issue, if you ever stay out on a windless, or nearly windless night, and are going to run the AC, consider placing your generator up on a cooler or something more elevated than on the deck and try get the exhaust as close to the outside aft edge as possible. You might want to look into getting some kind of extension pipe for the exhaust as well. You have to be aware of and reduce the risk carbon monoxide poisoning. You can also get a carbon monoxide detector like for RVs. On a completely windless night, if that exhaust doesn’t get vented out well it literally could be lethal. We are out regularly down by Elliott and over by Billy’s Point and occasionally stay overnight. If you sleep out near there, make sure also to take plenty of mosquito repellent and keep far enough away to keep the skeeters at bay. We are long time So. Watched your awesome video on camping over night and can’t believe you guys didn’t have any screen to protect you from the bugs! I just camped on my Yamaha AR195 and I had a tent with a screen to keep the bugs off me. I had a great time, looks like you guys did as well!

The admiral and I had many boat camping adventures like that on our last boat. No generator - we opted for a small camp stove to boil water to make coffee and fry eggs and a small propane bbq for dinners. We loved it. That electric griddle is quite versatile too!

I have a GradyWhite 24 offshore, an 88. She’s been real good to me. I’m mostly interested in seeing your AC set up and your bedding. I have all the cabin cushions but don’t feel that would be too comfortable. Like the video thx for sharing.

Found your channel when searching to install the add a battery kit for my first boat, a 17’ w/ a 90 Johnson. It was in my budget and I’ve always fixed everything I’ve owned. It’s a goal of mine to spend the night out on the hook one day. Love the channel and the positive can do attitude dispute any obstacles. “Calm seas never made a competent sailor.”

Hello cap. Love the video and now you know what involves in staying overnight on a boat, my maximum nights stays are 6 nights and i have to ration water amd beer lol, fish i always have plenty to eat but portable water is very important, now one question on your generator position test ware the hot engine exhaust travels to, because if that exhaust can hit the engine for long periods of time, remember there is fuel lines inside, just looking out for you and your wifes safety, and looking forward to seeing more of your overnighter cap. Cool video!! AND the boat looks GREAT! I have watched all the videos, commented a couple of times and am pretty impressed with what you started with and what you have transformed this boat into. Hopefully many more great adventures to come. Look into getting a butane stove for the boat. We use 2 when on boats when cooking one for coffee and other for frypan. Once coffee is done can add second fry pan. They are very inexpensive (@$30-40) easy to store and keep clean and you will not need to run the genset. The canisters are very inexpensive also and really easy to store in a Tupperware or other container with other cooking stuff. One thing is do not leave the canisters on the boat while on trailer parked or when it is really hot out because they are pressurized. Also if your anchor alarm got set off during the night it may have been from tide shift. Boats can swing off the “spot” pretty easily especially with a lot of scope on the anchor line. Double anchoring can usually eliminate this or extend the alarm ring ( @length of anchor line you have out) a very little bit. Looking forward to the next video👍🏻
