Join us as we cross the Arctic Circle on the 12 hour overnight journey from Helsinki to Rovaniemi to visit the real Santa Claus Village in Lapland Finland!
If you bought a drink, coffee, and a bun they may not have kicked you out of the dining car. The reason why they don't let you eat your own food there is you are taking up space from the paying customers.
@@inter_1097 The dining car is a restaurant on the train. You do not bring another restaurant's food in there to eat. Would you do that?? Avecra Oy(separate from VR) is the company that provides dining services on the train. They have every right you buy their food to eat there.
woah booking a hotel only after arriving during the high season sure is a risky bet. Or rather a question of money but glad you found something affordable
7:35 Commenting on how rough it looks like to travel in economy class is a good way to make yourself look like a jerk, especially while passing people doing just that. ;) Luckily, many of them might not be making the full trip to Rovaniemi. But if someone happens to be doing just that because they are broke, it's probably not something they want to be reminded about.
In america your self-worth is caclulated by how rich you are (rich equals succsess) but looking at their tiny overnight cabin you can also see theyre on a budget. When i , as a native, do the trip i usually book a bigger cabin with shower and wc inside and the price is not even that big of a deal. but from now i will probably travel by car just to avoid all the youtubers travelling to the "north pole" pissing off restaurant crew by unpacking their homebrewed mystery meals there..... :-)
I wanted a sleepcabin, but they were sold out. So we'll make the best of it. My son sleeps everywhere and the adults will make do. On the way back we've got a cabin.
True👍 There is no point buying bed cabin if you get out after few hours. If yoyr butt gets numb, just walk little and your butt is ready for sitting again. 😊
What a nice footage ! It was fun to watch you guys, really like children as you visited Santa village. If only we all could feel it like you did ! Greets from that northern side of Finland. All the best for your journey in the future. Take care. 🇫🇮
Lovely video! You really had quite an adventure! The trip was definitely challenging and it was cold too. Getting a hotel room seemed uncertain. Still, you were so happy to get to the Arctic Circle! Awesome!
-10? On the sign it said -5. Its normal in the rest of the world to checkin on hotel before 11am???? Not here in europe anyway. The girl say dont film with your own camer and what are you doing??
Tell other people they're poor eventhough you were to poor to book the bigger cabin 😅 p.s. How did you like the American food (Subway, Pringles, McDonald's...) in Finland?
Clueless American tourists, obviously. Rovaniemi is not on the North Pole, but that is geography, way too difficult for most Americans. Imagine eating something like the wonderful salmon, or the ever so tasty reindeer meat. way too adventurous! That might be why American tourists are so much loved worldwide...
Some cabins have own shower and bathroom, they are on the top floor. Also more quiet during travel but more money of course. Also if you want it smooth and quiet pick the ones far from locomotive. "Do we need to take a taxi to city center" made me feel a bit amused. For me as a Finn trainstation is in the city center city is just very small ;)
Yes you would need to book well in advance to get a room with your own bathroom, especially during Christmas. I think we meant where all the hotels are, rather than city center.
Kinda rude to say that comment about travelling on the regular seats next to them. Also what makes you think it's okay to bring outside food or drink to a restaurant? Americans🤣
When was this filmed? I dont get it, cause when I watch the Santa Claus village live on youtube, I see Santa's office, but there is no big Snowman in front of it? Lovely vid btw, would love to visit too!
North Pole? You are not even close, yoy hava a map, you see the country north of Finland? That is Norway, and when McDonalds open in Tromsöin a few weeks , that is hundreds of miles north of Rovaniemi, and then the Rovaniemi McDonalds would not the mor\st northerly anymore. Norway has had McDonalds for 40 years, longer than Finland, but they decided not to open north of Steinkjer, of some reason, but they changed their mind. Actually, id you mail a letter to SantaClaus, with no country, or North Pole, teh US Postal Service sends it to Norway, the Finns have tried do get them to send it to Finland, but I thing the USPS send it Alaska now
Why do Americans always want to go by taxi when it is much much cheaper to go by bus? The taxi driver was not exactly honest with you when he said the taxi was your only option. AND 15€? The bus would be about 3 or 4€
