I personally would have loved to have your white panted areas is dark green or blue, and the other areas in pure wood color. Loved it. But, since you are so full of skill, you made a piece I would never choose, beautiful! That’s amazing !

That was a bargain! You couldn’t touch that set here for less than 600, and it would be a mess. I have done that exact color combination. I adore sandbar with white. Not sure if I missed something, but did you not topcoat your washed areas? To my knowledge, CMP always needs topcoat, or at least wax.

I have been painting for years and was taught that you can paint oil over acrylic but never acrylic over oils as it will crack over time. Is it because it’s primer so it doesn’t matter?

It is a very beautiful piece of furniture. You did not talk about your wage. If the 480.00 profit is your wage and it took reasonable amount of time say 80 hours than your hourly wage is only 6.00.

Instead of playing music over all of your work, specifically your sanding with your Ryobi you should let everybody see and hear how you are sanding your project so when they start doing their project they'll know how to do it properly..... Does that make sense to you ? And also with the drawers.... Seeing it in fast forward doesn't really give any real direction on how to do it properly..... Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. (But I doubt it) My two cents, ~Jonny5🥁

In my view, mid century modern should not be painted. Cleaned, repaired but no paint. It will loose its value. Just my view but you go girl. Do your thing.

What I don’t understand is how people can get started to pay off debts when you need - access to a huge garage, a truck, thousands of dollars worth of tools to start off with to begin with. Doesn’t seem like a way that people can pay off their debts when the starting cost is extremely high. So most people will not be able to actually pay off their debts this way because they can’t afford to start since you need tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to begin this hobby in the first place.

They look so fabulous for the technique you were going for. I do have to say as a MCM furniture hunter that I am my heart feels a bit sick you painted as much of it as you did even though it appeared that most of the veneer was in good condition. The tough call though is the laminate top, usually that gets painted and that really means the outside of the cabinet or dresser box gets painted too so that it flows. If this were a piece to keep I would probably put veneer on the top of it and kept it all wood looking. The exception is I loved the paint wash you did to neutralize the orange, that is a terrific tip! Overall you did a wonderful job and I am sure who ever purchases this will be thrilled to have it.

I was actually going to tell you to list it for like 1000 to 1500 that was a beautiful set I absolutely loved it though how I wish I could have got that for myself I would have paid up to 1500 for it it was very unique I just loved the way you did the paint wash, and then the color was absolutely so perfect I Ve watched you flip a lot of furniture and I think this was my absolute favorite it was very different ❤,💯🎉😍🤗I don't comment very often but I do watch all your videos and this one I just had to let you know how much I loved this one! Dearest Laura, Great Projects, I love your channel, Not to mention that adorable fella you hang out with. HOWEVER ====YOU MUST GET YOUR BEAUTIFUL HAIR UP IN A BUN WHEN USING POWER TOOL====== Years back we had a post grad student working alone in a her lab over the weekend. They found her dead on Monday morning because her hair had gotten caught in the machine she had used. And yes they had to ID her from her Name tag. Please be safe, and encourage other to do so, please I beg you. I have taught my granddaughters to always put their hair up when ever using power tools of any kind.

I couldnt help but notice that once you sanded all the drawers you then sprayed them down to clean any dust. Have you heard of waterpopping before? Water popping, in the context of woodworking or refinishing furniture, refers to a technique where water is applied to the wood surface before finishing. This raises the grain of the wood, allowing it to be sanded down for a smoother finish. It's commonly used with water-based finishes to enhance the wood's appearance and achieve a more even stain or finish application. Normally this is done just before the final finish. Anyway just wanted to add that i absolutely love your work and you are very quickly becoming my favourite youtuber! Godbless and happy holidays

It’s so sad to see these gorgeous, classic pieces are being ravaged for a fad that will go out of style so fast. It’s one thing if they are irrevocably damaged and unrestorable. You’re sadly erasing history. I would use them as is, “love marks” from their previous owners are a plus. 😢 I am so glad no one got a hold of my Lane Rhythm pieces.

Lauren, back in the day the washing used to be called pickling. Why, I don't know. I pickled the kitchen cabinets in the kitchen about 40 years ago.

That looks like teak. I would only oil it unless it already has a finish on it. Beautiful. That would be a keeper for me, no way to sell it! You did not overpay for it. This is my fave of yours. I would gladly have paid 900 for it. It should have been more! I don't do Instagram

I love you were not impressed with any patina those drawer pulls had. Some people adore patina. I see patina as something that wasn’t appreciated by its previous owner. They didn’t clean it they didn’t polish it. They took absolutely zero effort to keep it clean. I don’t worship historical filth.

You do a great job with your pieces…but i love mid century pieces like this style…and the wood was so pretty….then the paint ruined it (for me) When pieces are in good condition and can be restored, especially a piece like this…paint feels wrong

Lauren, were you able to paint both pieces of furniture with just the one container of paint. My wife and I painted a piece of furniture and ran out of paint. How do you make the paint go so far. We love watching your videos!!
