As part of our euro roadtrip 2014 we drove many great passes from Switzerland to Italy. The Stelvio Pass is the most famous with its 48 hairpins (on the way up from the north). Music: Bensound - Endless Motion
Absolutely love this video. Must have watched it at least 5 times now. I have a Chimaera too and the car was simply made for these kinds of roads. More videos like this please!
Thank you for this video! With any luck (the weather) I'll be driving this exact road, with my daughter, in this direction in June with my MX5 RF. I will be coming from Bolzano and then continue to Bormio, Madonna di Campiglio and down the Garda lake to Gardaland for 2 days :)
You'll have a lot of fun! Make sure you check your brakes/pads and change the brake fluid before going. Going down from the top absolutely EATS brakes ;)
I've driven this route, in my Lotus Eleven, and made the same mistake you did, by running it in summer, surrounded by cyclists and slower cars, I ran on a Saturday day, .... the following morning I was thrashing the Lotus at daybreak, no traffic, and the cooler air helped the higher I climbed.
@@glennoc8585 I’m sure the folks who actually built the road will be very happy with the smiles-per-miles on the Caterham and TVR owner’s faces. Certainly makes for fabulous YT watching!
@@tubebaler West coast of Norway is also highly recommended. There's a commercial line going from Hull to sweden and Norway if you want to take the chim here
@@jstdrv I did indeed. The worst was when we hit traffic in Monaco in around 28 degrees. We had the engine fans on full (switch mod) and the blowers blowing hot air to try and help but the temperature kept rising. To be fair, it didn't break down for the whole euro trip. I miss her dearly.
In case anyone does not know, the music is "BenSound", the track "Endless Motion" (which is fitting driving up the Stelvio Pass). It is here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0IGZmEELwcM.html
Car sounds great, but you're taking a lot of risks there fella, cool it down a bit and you'll live longer. And so will the cyclists in your local area...
I hope to get some new GoPros to add more angles on my next drives. If you know of any action camera or other camera that does the job better, please let me know!
Engine hot ???? just as the 'tail' motorbike mullered you, . mmhhhh think not. And why don't you WAIT behind bikes until you are clear to pass....fool !!!!
Glad I wasn't riding my bike up there that day. Show some respect. Been cycling 40 years and a tvr owner 20 years. An S for 10 years a Griff 500 for 10 years.
Very early on in the chase I slowed down to let him pass, but he slowed down too and did not pass. We guessed he just was having fun chasing so we pressed on.
