Most major cities and landmarks I’ve visited past 5-10 years . From NYC, LA, Vegas, Areas in Florida, Cruise ships & destinations, theme parks, to name a few. Probably the worst ones were Paris & Rome a few years ago . Shoulder to shoulder crowds from multiple countries trying to see the same attractions made it a un joyful experience… Even once smaller cities like Austin TX or Denver Colorado , are now packed with people. 😢
I live in the centre of Edinburgh right near the castle; same address for 50 years. Overtourism has struck our neighbourhood severely and it is now difficult to live here. Our local shops for food have been turned into souvenir shops or snack bars. Many of the local schools and other formerly public buildings have been turned into hotels. A massive proportion of local residences have been turned into year-round AirBnBs which pay no council tax nor business tax. The owners of these - all outsiders - have been harassing those of us who refuse to sell up and move out. Whenever I walk out my front door, instead of seeing familiar faces I have to struggle through crowds of Harry Potter fans (no, it WASN'T written here!) who don't look where they're going because they're staring constantly into the google app on their phone to follow the bright blue line that guides them to the selfie spots that all fly-by-night tourists congregate at. Our community has been here for centuries and it has been hollowed out to the point of destruction within the past decade.
North Georgia is getting pretty close to overtourism. Our roads are literally crumbling outside the resort & vacation home communities, and our actual population is so small that we don't have a big enough tax base to absorb the cost of damages. This is mostly being done by Floridians and folks from Atlanta who keep crowding into "the woods" to get drunk in a cabin, or drive here in droves to look at apples twice a year. Apples! It's ridiculous. Not to mention that it's darn near impossible to find parking downtown on weekends, which is awful for locals since several of our churches and favorite cafes are downtown. I went to our local grocery store today, and was shocked to see Floridians buying ALL the eggs to take back home with them, because "they're so much cheaper in the sticks!" Ugh. I do hate them. I try to be kind, but they're rude and destructive. I don't want them here.

In India overtourism is literally everywhere.. specially the famous temple sites,sea beaches.Here in Durga puja,a lot of tourists come in Kolkata to see the festival.
Barcelona. Biggest tourist trap in Europe. Can barely move for tourists. Locals unfriendly (though don’t really blame them, seeing as their home town has turned into a theme park for foreigners ). Horrible city I never want to go back to
