I think it should be noted that the Sirocco is different than the other foam helmets mentioned. The older version was made completely out of expanded polypropylene and is rated for multiple impacts. Also, extremely light.

I've got a CT Stark which is absolutely brilliant. EPS webbing hybrid with great adjustability and ventilation and really comfy. Bonus points its bright orange with fancy metal mesh because swag.

Great video. I got the 3M X5000. I like the fit of the helmet, but hate the slim plastic parts that you need to detach everytime you like to pack the helmet. Maybe you could do a review.

Ok, forget the x5000. The helmet is a complete waste. The plastic fitting came apart recently during a rope rescue training, The helmet slipped into my neck and the chin strap nearly strangled me.

Great video would you consider doing a special on CAVE DIVING and SCUBA diving helmets. I realize many divers in the past have gutted helmets of all the buoyant foam as they are looking for bump protection in caves and swift water applications. Please provide more internal photos of modern available helmets on the market. Its very sad that a company like Team Wendy with its EXFIL SAR Backcountry and SAR Tactical helmet are totally inadequate for underwater use without ripping out all the foam! I'm not a diver so I probably won't be able to produce an informed video on helmets for this application. I'm aware that buoyancy is a consideration for divers and will try to show different angles as I produce individual helmet reviews.

Cave divers generally only wear a helmet if they expect to be also traversing air filled passage. Removing the foam from a cheap bike helmet is an option, but remember that the diver will also be wearing a hood while in the water. I use an Ecrin and even with that I can barely fit it with a thin hood. But it's nice because I can adjust it back down to fit my head when I get out of the water and take the hood off. I haven't found the other helmets to be large enough to fit, even with a bare head. So sizing is definitely a consideration as well.

You can also gut a cheap helmet of the foam, but leave just enough to provide standoff with your head. If you're mounting lights, they may be enough to help offset that.

Not sure about availability in the US but in my opinion Singing Rock Flash is a good alternative to the Ecrin Rock, it is a ABS/PC hard shell helmet. It is more compact than the Vertex and better looking than the Ultralight. www.singingrock.com/flash

That's interesting. Here in Japan 1/2 of climbers prefer white or original material color, with NO cosmetics. As they pretend such as 'We are so much focusing on real performance, no time allowance to pay attention for cosmetics' , Sure this is also a style or kind fashion maybe
