Love the throwback reference to the early days of Tape-to-DAW synchronization and the challenges that came with that. Keep up the great work Matty. Awesome!!!
Ever since they got bought by landr they are just rehashing. I got revoice 5 pro now they drop this shortly after without a decent crossgrade. It should be free if you own voc ultra and revoice pro
So glad i have cubase pro… you can now do (multi) warp right on the arrangement page. Alignment ist just a single click away. Pitch match is a great idea though.
Imagine adding up a analog Modular Synth/Sequenzer to your System, back then. It was a nightmare ! As much as i like Vocalign Pro and Revoice, its just to expansive.
I’m glad I was a session player and not an engineer at that transitional time.. but I do remember waiting around for alignments! Omg.. I did however have to stripe VCR tapes with SMPTE TC fir scoring which I dreaded!
@@mixedbymatty had u started 10 years earlier you wouldnt be so injured..ok maybe some late night razor blade editing sessions but mainly just roll the tape LOL!
What a great story! I remember those old crazy synch days. All the kids fascinated by tape have got to hear this. 😂 Also I worked at Opcode! Didn’t know you were a Vision guy. 😍 VocAlign is
You describe the latter part of my early studio life, except substitute Oberheim drums and Cubase... I still have the Steinberg SMPTE box and it still works!
20 yeas in this business 15 years pro meaning nothing more than this is how I make my living that’s it. I don’t know a lot, I didn’t go to college for sound and I know many pros that know a fraction of what I know which is mind blowing . Shot out to the must of been literally insane to even think of being an engineer back then. You kept this art alive when you guys should have shot it dead so long ago. How many years must of that been. Because 20 years ago and producers where knee in protools and logic when I started. But that Let me fix your title for the newbies and youngins out there. And don’t delete this they need to hear it if you truly care about this art, because you still have a responsibilty to not destroy our future now that you’ve saved the past. There will never ever ever never be a time where there is even a slight possibility or a little truth as a possibility the this title of the video will ever be true. A plug in will never transform you from who you are now to what you aspire to sound like and the same goes to a plugin will never save your career. Know the difference between a promotional title and altruistic advice with no other motivation. Not to say promos are bad I love watching them. Just know what then as they are and learn all you can about this ever changing and growing what I now put under the umbrella of techart
Hey Matty, I appreciate you sharing your prowess with VocAlign, and it's great that you and others make these helpful videos. But remember, you fully understand it, and some of us just got it and are looking for someone like you to help us navigate and understand it. When the delivery is a bit speedy like this one, and I have to rewind a lot, and can't see what you're mouse is clicking on, that's annoying. It feels like you're just showing off and not really caring if your are being understood. I feel most of the viewers are Newbies and would like for you to slow down, and add a bit more teaching/tutoring. We know you know how it works. Just wanted you to think about that.🙂
I think it’s more a question of him trying to keep things tight as everyone seems to be wanting short videos these days. Nice of you to give him feedback that you’re ok with longer videos. 👏🏻
@@KordTaylor I hope he knows that was constructive criticism. Many, many people have informative videos but, the delivery matters. Are you teaching or showing of your knowledge? And you're not alway talking to intermediates. I'll bet 85% are Newbies. Thanks for the reply KordTaylor.👍
Would be cool if they could make one of these for guitars, and instruments in general (with lots of slightly loosee variations... Didn't want everything perfectly perfectly timed or you lose dimensionality and depth)
