Overwatch 2, but getting elims CHANGES your hero 

This is like team based gun game, would love this to be in the arcade or something

Another fun idea: mystery heroes style respawns, but whoever you kill you swap to that character. So when someone gets a kill they swap to the character they killed and the person they killed swaps to a random character!

I like that feeding is actually a strat. When you are close to your spawn, you can feed to force the enemy on to a less advantageous hero.

This would definitely be a lot better if the kill feed worked right now it's just too weird trying to keep track of who's switching to what

I'm picturing this with some high rank strategies. Like getting 2 tanks to stall and not kill. 2 supports that focus only on heals, and one random that cleans up the scraps, constantly changing hero's.

I agree that I'd love to see a team of you seagull flats Karq and somnus or marble vs. a Jay3 team of top 500's.

I like the idea of getting a kill to change. It prevents intentional deaths to swap like in mystery heroes.

I want the custom settings so bad for this

As a fan of Mystery Heroes I just know I'd love to play this so I'm hoping to see more. It's a shame that the scoreboard doesn't work properly but maybe something like a popup message saying "X swapped to Y" could help Emongg.

This was so fun to watch, and I really, really want to play this style of game. The really fun part is trying to decide if you'll use the ultimate or wait and hope to get a better one after an elim.

I personally think this is a better game mode than mystery heroes (competitively speaking) because instead of rewarding you for getting the person you are best with like in mystery heroes, it actually rewards you for being good with a range of heroes. I loved watching this and I crave higher ranks playing this.

they need to ad this as a competitive gamemode. It would be so much fun.

That was so entertaining to watch, would love to see more of it. My biggest problem was that the killfeed was either bugged or just won’t work with the hero switching.

I would love to see a version of this where instead of a random hero you clone the hero you killed BUT when someone dies, they get a random hero. So mystery heroes on death, but some choice or at least heads up on the swap when you get an elim.

Ult gun game is my go-to custom game when i'm waiting for matches

Mystery Heroes Mayhem : - Swap if you got an elim or did 1000 damage - Swap if you die or take over 1000 damage - Swap if you have stayed on a hero for 45 seconds - Swap EVERYONE if the objective reaches a tick/checkpoint - Anytime someone swaps, gain 5% ult charge

This is very strategically interesting. I think one thing that happened is the teams kind of forgot that, unlike mystery heroes, you can still swap in spawn. Also, I think there is some interesting strategy with ultimates like Mei ult where you actually want to not shoot anyone except like a tank until the ult is over because if you get any kills the ultimate disappears. This is even more true with ultimates like grav, kitsune or flux and is also true for stuff like tree and valk but not doing damage is less of an imposition there. This also buffs ultimates that instantly deal their damage or apply a status like shatter, Illiari’s ult, emp, self destruct, tire (especially because the swap can save you), pulse bomb etc. this also really nerfs channeled/transformation or slow acting ults that rely on doing damage to get their value. Stuff like Bob, mines, tac visor, torb ult etc. are potentially just not worth using since you can just ult after you swap. Then there is dragon-blade, which relies not just on doing damage but GETTING ELIMINATIONS for dash resets. It basically becomes a glorified pulse bomb… at least it provides you the opportunity to maybe swap off genji without having to die or go back to spawn.

This was HUUUUUGE, i loved it. This could become a true arcade mode, it's insanely fun.

It might be interesting if you had some small delay when swapping to a new hero after an elim, maybe 3 seconds? that way you leverage most of your ult's value, the kill feed is more accurate, and you can prepare. (maybe it could even tell you what you're about to swap to)

I feel like this is better than mystery heros in some ways because if the enemy team gets a really good team comp in mystery heros, you can't do anything. But if they get a good comp in this, the team switches around pretty quickly!

This is complete chaos and almost impossible to follow but it’s exciting!

This would be great as 1 GM vs 5 bronze / silver / gold etc. The GM swaps hero on kill and has 2-2.5x buffed stats. The other 5 don’t swap on kill.

it was fun to watch, for sure. can see how it would be impossible to commentate. it might be interesting and maybe easier to follow if the random swaps were role-locked, e.g. the tank switches randomly to any other tank?

I feel like the strat is just to roll into 2 mercies and let the rest worry about damage tbh, confirmed healing at all times

Would enjoy watching you participate in this mode with 2 teams of GMs (maybe some masters or whatever on each team too if needed to fill teams). Think would be fun watching from the one players point of view. This was great to watch though.

I wonder about the Cas ult - from the sound-effect, High-Noon shoots in sequence, so if it was locked onto 3 player and would get 2 kills - would the first kill switch them off Cas and cancel the remaining shots?

You could keep it this way, but it could also have it be role based and the hero you switch to is in that role to keep it fair or competitive

they should turn this into a real game mode like 5v5 gun game type shit

I wonder what would happen if you get a kill while an enemy echo used her ult to copy you, since normally you can't switch off if she does

I want this to be an actual game mode in overwatch it would be called Mystery Swap instead because instead of dying and getting a new hero and losing your ult charge you keep the ult charge and swap the character if you get a kill but I think what would be fair to balance it if you die you lose your ult charge but keep your character. I would play it 100% idk about anyone else but it is not only different but it definitely looks really fun tbh.

I just want to see a pharah get a kill from max height and fall down because of new character lmao especially if over edge of map

i think this game mode would do a lot better as a play series rather than a spectate one. that way we could stick with watching one hero go through all their switches, and hear the team comms calling out strats to get everyone playing what they want. when trying to spectate two entire, ever changing teams we end up not seeing anything, so if this does get continued as a spectating series, i would prefer we spend more time spectating a single player and not constantly switching around while the characters are also switching. cant follow anything that way. REALLY cool game mode, though. would love to play this now since official mystery heroes got butchered by hero/role caps

Is this Better Mystery Heroes? It's awesome, you might get stuck on a hero you cant play, but at least its not like you cant counter anything for long. Just let them kill you and they are off the hero. Also Ult stays, that is great. This seems so much fun, i'd love to see a flying Phara get a kill and be a Reaper from the sky. :D
