Fun fact. Those who don’t abide by the rules of the survey are chained up at Blizzard HQ and are forced to work on the PVE. I was one poor soul but I escaped
The whole survey clip is crazy, and the fact they asked people not to share it is insane. the survey isn't available anymore even if you load the old announcements lmao
Only one thing to do: print hundreds if not more copies of it based on what the guy showed us and sent it via postmail straight to the offices of Blizzard
Because it influences the survey if the OW hivemind start talking about it. Flats could put in some answers on the survey on stream, and then half his fanbase would go do the same.
13:50 - 14:00 Yeah. Biggest tip I've ever gotten in fighting games was to refuse to do any combos or try to apply damage. There's nothing scarier in a PvP setting than someone who can crush you before they even start trying to make it hurt.
Fighting games are truly the only genre where you can completely suffocate the opponent with sheer skill - or at least the fighting games that let you.
@@nivyan Yeah. There's one (updated into the ground) game I used to play that allowed users to boost damage, attack speed, MP regain, et cetera, and I used that advice there. Lost a TON at first, but that's technically the best first step. I dumped it into attack speed to the point where I was kinda harmless hit-for-hit. Shit was fun. Managed to reach +111%, which effectively made fights 2v1 so long as my fingers didn't give out.
@@moon-gv4ol I haven't played the more recent MK titles, but they do seem to take the traditional route instead of the more casual one Street Fighter and Tekken is going. I'll be skipping Tekken 8 and SF6, so maybe MK1 is the fighter of choice this time around :)
I LOVE your breakdown about why people don't stop playing their main game. I'm part of the Destiny 2 pvp community and we are dealing with literally the exact same shit.
Oh nice, I also do the "try to guess the next play" method of learning, especially lately. Really helpful to be consciously deliberate with positioning, ability use, etc.
I think the survey is only asking stuff like that is to avoid bias, brigading, and otherwise influencing results of others who listen to you based on your own feelings or reactions.
blizz probs broke the game more. i didnt really notice cause i can still see the numbers. just because i dont see a comma, dont mean i cant see the 6k damage i got.
The comment about plat widows reminded me of an old jayne video that was a widow tournament. If i remember correctly there was widows from every rank in the game and alot of them were masters+ but the widow that won the whole tourney was high plat. I could be remembering wrong but im pretty sure thats how it played out. High plat widows go crazy with aim but got no brain.
I think Widow HS only lobbies are great for getting used to your mouse and movement, they're perfect to do for about 10-15 mins to warm up before games when you wanna play her. Otherwise, there are other very good aim practice warmup custom games for other heroes. Play for about 10 mins until you feel more comfortable moving your mouse again and get those W's! EDIT: forgot to mention if you're messing w your mouse sens or in game sens, Widow lobbies are good to test things in.
6:37 This is exactly why I'm terrified of FPS. I got Little Sister'd out of playing the core FPS games early and now there's a massive knowledge/fundamental gap just to get my foot in the door that I just shut down when I see games like Halo, CS:GO, Apex, or whatever.
Actually so true what you said about trying a new PVP game, veteran players are so toxic when they shit on new players, they'd rather rage at people post game then give good advice mid game smh
Fighting games have consistently been amazing and with so many great new releases coming, new games adapting “modern controls” for new players, etc. Now is the best time to get into fighting games
6:00, to continue on with what Flats is saying here, if you're into a certian genre, MOBAs, MMOs, FPS, you kinda have a couple flavors to choose from but it's still always gonna be chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Like if you play MOBAs you have, League, Dota, and like Smite I guess, that's it. If you get annoyed with one you swap to the other, until you get annoyed with it and swap back. Same thing for FPS, it's like COD, Battlefield (though I've heard the new one sucks), and Halo for traditional shooters. Warzone, Apex, and Fortnite for BR. Val and CSGO for whatever you call that type of shooter. And then OW is kinda on it's own with maybe TF2, all the other games that tried this style kinda flopped. Even if you move between shooter types it's like 10 games tops that we've being playing for the last decade. Like I've been playing league for nearly a decade. I play for a couple months, get burnt out, swap to something else or play a single player game for a bit, then go back (currently playing OW for like 2 months on a league break). The only other option for that type of gameplay is Dota but I don't want to learn a whole new set of characters and stuff, and be a decade behind everyone else in the learning curve, so I just go back to league.
The Finals is the first game I've played in years that gave me new PvP game feels, seriously when it comes out of private play test make sure to give it a go.
The part about the plat widowmakers is 100% true, i was one of them and i could only hit shots against other widows, playing widow in a normal game you can't hit shit
Man even if it’s not active cheats like aimers and hacks I’m fucking tired of playing against XIM players on console. Holy shit is it annoying knowing that I’ve been artificially plateaued because I can’t out perform XIM.
Flats explanation of the barrier of entry was excellent. I have this exact feeling whenever I try to play R6 siege. I love the way it looks but I just CANNOT learn all that shjt in a reasonable amount of time
The entire argument flats had about staying with a single game is why I like single player games so much. Or at least niche multiplayer games like The Isle, Starship Troopers Extermination, 7 days to die, Ark, and some Co-op games like B4B, Aliens Fireteam Elite, DbD, Predator Hunting Grounds. ETC.
I’d fully agree with 5:51 if it weren’t for the fact that omega strikers came out this year and it’s fire. Even if it’s not as big as those, there are still good pvp games coming out
Here's the thing these streamers are part of the issue if they did just bite that bullet jump to a new game they would take a large portion of their fans along for the ride and you would see these companies change their tunes at lightning speed
@@michaelkeha your exactly right and flats admits that. Though those people can still play those new games regardless of if their favorite streamer is. Realistically you could go ahead and blame anyone. All I Care about is that I like omega strikers :)
@@mirkinator2221 true but the people who already try these new things are people have left the cave before what the streamer doing this does is it will make those who haven't leave the cave they have far far more influence over player's than they understand as they are the cave's entertainers
7:53 you get endless pvp games with fighting games though and outside of like tekken, smash, and some smaller games, most of them are fairly new/have something new coming soon. Sure fighting games aren’t for everyone and there’s lots of legacy skill from being good in older version of a franchise or other fighting games, but the same could be said for shooters. Overwatch was my first shooter and I managed to get into it with literally minutes of actual shooter experience of going to friends’ houses and playing cod on their Xbox.
What you said around 7 minutes hit me home. I quit fortnite 1 3/4 years ago when I grinded it for over 4000 hours in 2 1/2 years. Could not find a game that I enjoyed that was a shooter bc I was getting dogged on. Came back and sadly I am nowhere near the current level. I relate with sticking with one game because of this. Thank you for being so down to Earth Flats
Here's the thing dude yeah people gonna dog on you and it sucks but if you find the new game better frankly just mute and learn cause you will eventually get good and have more fun than suffering in the old game you are comfortable in learning to accept change and not just wallowing in the giant sunk cost hole you dug will be better for you in the long run
I took that survey a while back i have an hour plus screen recording of the survey on my phone because I took it serious and not serious but i can say one thing it’s a survey that boils blood
On the survey clip, youtube, as well as tiktok and whatnot are video streaming services. A stream does not have to be a livestream, that is why it is called a 'livestream'
