Bro your account has to reach level 5 before you get real players, you had bot lobbies because of that. The game doesn't fill the lobby with bots, it's practice at first to introduce you lol.

Paladins player base is big, but you need to get lvl 5 to play with them.

the game isnt dead, its just the first few games where u get bots, paladins has a constant 10 000 players at any time (not sure of the exact number)

for ur first 5 games you play with bots and then real people, there's prolly around 7000 ccu at any given time so it's not really "dead". paladins also has a really big ranked but since you're unranked and unqualified it's not going to display any information. you have to play 5 qualifying games before getting placed but ranked is extremely different from overwatch press k in game to see abilities, and always purchase items (they greatly buff you and help to offset late-game measures like cauterize)

Bots don't fill up lobbies, you were matched against bots because you were below level 5. It's supposed to keep you from getting steamrolled by older players I guess.

the paladins community isnt actually that small. But you just get to play against bots if you create a new account for your first couple matches

I looove Paladins its definitely one of my favourite games!! Its always my go to game when Overwatch is in a bad patch. But yeah be warned, Paladins has bugs and they're super annoying!! (Honestly I usually rarely get them but when I do...) I wish the developers would have capitalized on Paladins when Overwatch was going through the pve controversy. Lots of lost potential there! I would love to see you play a real game (vs real players!) It always amuses me to see people play Paladins for the first time because it's such a wacky game 😂 Honestly when you get used to it you realize its actually completely different from Overwatch, gameplay wise.

Most of people also play on Na mostly cause more fun besides the man compared characters when overwatch lack diversity of gameplay for characters

The video was great, but I'm getting tired of people trying paladins for the first time and not bothering to play past the bots stage or trying to claim that the game is anywhere close to dead while it has over 10k concurrent players and a pretty active community. The editing and jokes were fire, just the lack of care or research hurts to see.

Overwatch player does 0 research but confidently makes assertions that are practically all wrong.

lol u had fun because the lobbies were filled with bots and the projectiles are tripled in size compared to the visual representation; not because the actual gameplay was good. I think it could be good, but it definitely isn't made to be good. It's made to bait you into thinking you're having fun. Because if you're enjoying gameplay like that, why not just play single player games instead?
