It is there for everyone to see. It isn't a matter of perspective or opinion, It isn't a matter of public shaming, hounding or media circus, it is factual, clear and obvious, and it has shocked the rugby community worldwide
So yes he does "pinball" off of George into Farrell but Farrell reads that this is going to happen and literally jumps into the space where he is going, tucks his arm, hits with the shoulder and is upright. 100% red card!
His feet don’t leave the ground in any of the angles, what on earth are you on about.…I’m not overly comfortable with it being just a yellow but for god sake, don’t spout sh*t.
Geez, Farrell had ample time to drop his body height and make a dominant tackle, and simply didnt! It was like he was purposefully looking to hit the head! Bye bye Owen
This. All the sanctimonious bleating from the IRB about player welfare is just so much baloney when they can’t take the minimum steps to get the thugs out of the sport.
More than the tackle, the attitude afterwards says A LOT about the human qualities of Farrell. Did he even care or apologize to the concussed welsh player at any point? No.
And rightfully so. His intention was just to shoulder charge which is a yellow card. It isn’t a red. He needs tackling practice again and most likely again after that too 😅
I don't think it was malicious, but it was for sure dumb. Owen was caught expecting the welsh guy to be tackled, realises he is not, and wants to tackle to the left. Then he realises that Genge who just missed his tackle is to his left and doesn't want to collide with his own player, so he comes back up and by then it is to late and he shoulder charges the player. Dumb move, and i expect better from an international player, but not malicious
@@topcats7750you must be the only person in the world at the moment that believes that?? Farrell is a serial offender there is no attempt to drop or even wrap! Look at it for what it is
I think the only times a tackler shouldn't be carded is if they are committed to going in low, but the other player looses height too rapidly for them to safely react (such as slipping) or a player is pushed into them when they are not actively looking to make a tackle (ie intercept the pass / marking another player).
Unfortunately way too many inconsistencies in ruling wrt these head hits. These are the protocols to run through: (1) head hit = automatic red card because it is the respinsibility of the tackler to ensure player safety; (2) if there are mitigating circumstances, the red card gets downgraded to a yellow. Ref was correct. IRB, wow! What can I say??? I am speechless!
It is the equivalent of road rage, this is game rage at its very worst, you can see his anger and it's not the first time and his lack of concern for potential injury to Dan Bigger. Red card rescinded he sould be banned from world rugby. He is no better than a roided up thug.
Owen Farrell is almost completely upright. His right arm is also tucked. The Welsh player's height changes only marginally. Enough height change for mitigation or just blatant corruption?
Same dangerous illegal technique every time, what will judiciary decided taking into account the facts of a player being a serial offender having just recently in January being banned for the same offence. Another lenient let off?
He was making a standing tackle to attempt to get possession of the ball. Perfectly legitimate tactic. If you can't see that you dunno wtf you're talking about.
"He was making a standing tackle to attempt to get possession of the ball". How was he attempting to get possession of the ball - by knocking the current player in possession unconscious?
Michael Litch (Japan Capt) was red carded for the same shoulder on head and was given a lengthy ban.but What is so special about this English boy🤦not being treated the same.
Farrell has terrible tackling technique. For the whole of his career defence has been his weakness. Sadly his ego will not let him “retrain” and adjust/improve his defence skills. By his words and actions Farrell puts himself first and team second.
It’s a red card and a ban. Bottom line, I think Owen is a good, talented player and I’m not English. At his age, experience, going into a World Cup and playing a build up fixture, no one wants to loose. It’s a red 👎
No intention to go lower or even wrap his hands around the ball carrier. He simply chose to go high with the shoulder. I am surprised there are even any deliberations when there is a clear shoulder charge to the head. This is the head and there is no mitigation to that. A red card is a red card, full stop!!!
Even more unbelievable than people thinking he was a natty is that there are still people watching his videos and commenting asking him for advice, training programmes, keto diets etc. Some people just can't be helped, they just refuse to see the truth right in front of them 🤦
Downgraded to yellow because George pushes the player into Farrell's way. Not deliberate by George doesn't look deliberate by Farrell (for a change). I'd say fair outcome technically though Farrell was still far too high coming in.
I’m actually looking at this tackle more and more and it’s not as bad as you lot are making it out to be. The way he has gone into him it’s towards the ball. He has cluttered him head on. Maybe looks worse in slow motion but we all know how Farrell is hated and how many hate the English so I’m not really surprised with your reaction. No one is saying Owen Farrell is perfect, he should be playing in Dublin today as the high tackle was punished in the game. End of the matter for me
13 becomes 12, that is a true reflection of a team that are thuggish, a reflection of how a leader of a team brings down a team when they should stand up and play clean good rugby. No, he has a father who stands up for his pathetic behavior. A world cup that will see this again and spoil it at the highest platform if he is allowed in. This has been allowed for years, time it's resolved this week and set the greatest example before a player is hurt or placed in a wheel chair, then we all sit there, we should have , would have, could have prevented this nonsense
C'est un carton rouge contre le 20 Gallois qui jette sa tête sur l'épaule de ce pauvre Farrell, alors que le talonneur Anglais essaie de le retenir... Bannissement à vie!
It is interesting to look at this next to Anton Lienert Browns yellow card from nz domestic rugby a few months ago. Farrell s tackle looks worse coz he didn’t use his arms but Lienert-Browns tackle looks more dangerous..coz he hit the ball carrier smack in the face. Farrell s behaviour afterwards is pathetic ..he deserved a red card for that alone.
International players making stand up tackles have no excuses. He made no attempt to tackle properly and should be banded for the maximum term. The warnings have been there for many years English Captain.
World Rugby has appealed the overturn decision. Quite odd that it was even overturned, I guess that’s a fault of the hearing process somehow. Bunker got this call right.
Biggar what Ever you Said Well done Farrel Parrel Tweetie Tweetie. There is No Good Play in History of Farrell Useless player Waste of Space Run To Daddy Farrie Parrie Disgrace in Rugby becoming like Soccer JMSP
Absolutely love Owen Farrell! This man has fight, guts and passion! Ark at you lot coming on here crying about it! You do realise what Rugby is all about?? You hit hard and you go to war! I know your game, you want Rugby to become a pansy sport! Let me guess no contact soon as we don’t want anyone getting hurt or having their feelings left in tatters . 🎻
The comments are quite funny when you learn that the Red Card has been *_RESCINDED_* ! There is one camera angle here which explains why, Jamie George trying to tackle effectively pushes him across Farrell & makes the impact look totally different. A Yellow Card would have been more appropriate & having seen that angle they are clearly right.
