WOW......I was 8 yrs old when this movie was released and this song and now I'm 17yrs old...Oh my gosh...Time really passed by like it was nothing...LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH
Still my favourite even its 2020. Here's the lyric. Just before the dawn When the light's still gone Shine, shine your way And you may not know, where to go Shine, shine your way Open road but it's still dark Build a fire from a spark And shine, shine your way Feed the feeling in your heart Don't conceal it then you'll start To find, find your way No one can stop, what has begun You must believe when I say All of your tears will dry faster in the sun Starting today Shine, shine, shine Shine your way There's an open sky And a reason why You shine, shine your way There's so much to learn And now it's your turn To shine, shine your way There's a feeling deep inside You can let it be your guide To find, find your way And there's no time for us to waste Got to take a leap of faith And fly, fly away Don't have to walk Now you can run Nothing can get in your way All of your tears will dry faster in the sun Starting today Shine, shine, shine Shine your way Morning is breaking Darkness is fading We found a way to the light It's such a beautiful sight Any time, anywhere Turn around and I'll be there To shine, shine your way Like a star burning bright Lighting up the darkest night I'll shine, shine your way Now I can see You are the one Sent here to show me the way All of your tears will dry faster in the sun Starting today Shine, shine, shine We're on our way Shine, shine, shine That's what we say Shine, shine, shine Shine your way There's a reason why You shine, shine your way All of our tears will dry faster in the sun Shine your way
I used to watch this movie a lot with my family, my mom would play this song in the car all the time because my little brother loved to sing along. I guess I’m 15 now and this song truly makes me think of family when I hear. I don’t listen to it much, but when I do, it makes miss being 10, or at least makes me miss the past when that’s what we all were. A family.
Disney has made a perfect choice for choosing Owl city for their soundtracks.. this is as great as When can I see you again on Wreck it Ralph. And Yuna's voice is amazing!
Aku ingat lagi dgr lagu ni 1st time waktu 2013. Aku excited gila sbb dgr Yuna buat lagu dgn Owl City!? like whattt.. Artist malaysia and one of my fav childhood artist buat lagu together excuse me???? hahahahaha. I still love them until now!! What a nostalgic song.
It would be even better if The Crusades would finally be over. This whole war that was supposedly over oil was in reality over religious differences. Merely one nation thinking it's better than another, and religion versus religion is like a fairy versus a troll they are both made up, so nobody can ever win.
Kris Bright If everyone was more like my high school friends and I, the world would be a much better place. We were all different religions, but we never tried to convert each other. We respected each other's beliefs and never argued.
First Wreck it Ralph credits scene, then the Croods? Everytime I hear his songs, it makes me emotional due to all the coming of age memories that I see.
The croods is a great movie, and this song it actually makes since with the whole movie. I'm 18 years old and it has been the one movie besides frozen that actually helps me believe, "hey I'm not afraid."
I can't belive it's been 9 years since the first movie was released. I was only 6 years old at the time, and sanged this song. I come back and I feel so much joy.
In today’s world, where it seems like everyone bonds over negative experiences and trauma, some of us need that reminder that you don’t have to feel bad. “It’s okay to be okay.”
Today in P.E. we put Uptown Funk on repeat, as we were to make a dance choreography with it, but all of a sudden this song started playing, and I was basically like "wtf" and "omg, Adam, my precious, you go boy"(as I am a true hootowl) at the same time. I was in shock as Owl City songs usually never are a part of playlists in my country(Norway). It played once, and I was in heaven for 3.36 minutes, knowing every word to it, wanting to sing out loud, but being too shy, I was like "act casual, Hannah, neither of these dull people have heard of it, and have no clue as to who's singing". But then when it went on repeat, a few of the "popular guys"(we're 18) shouted out "turn that lame song off", and he and another guy tried to change back to Uptown Funk, but they couldn't do it no matter what they did and how many buttons they pushed on their phone, so the first 4 seconds of "Shine your way" kept replaying like 10 times and they were desperate to turn it off, and it was hysterical, omg. I literally screamed internally at the sight of them. For me, this song lightened up what would have been an otherwise boring and wasted hour of my life, spent with lame people. That's just the power of Owl City songs.
Oh God, that's awesome xD This basically happens when "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World plays during P.E., and my classmates start screaming for their modern trash (usually Uptown Funk as well.)
A long time ago.. There were more haters than lovers. And I was there. And it was sad. To see so many people. Hating a beautiful song. I come back. Now I see the lovers Shined the way through them. *_Shine on Lovers. Shine on._*
A decade ago, I was three years old when this movie came out, and looking back now, we really getting old, this song brings back the nostalgia in pre-school. The croods was one of the US’ biggest child movie hits in 2013 and the day this came out, everybody was in theaters and the nostalgia of the usage of the DVD player was very common, and we were at my moms best friends house and all her kids and I, we all grew up together and so we were all in the basement with our own tent, and we played this on the dvd and remembering a moment like that seems like yesterday, but now we hope for a tomorrow instead of a today to happen (movie reference). I loved this movie when I was little and I remember how on DVD you could always have the option of playing any movie everyday and now, ten years later, that option is still available. I’m so proud for the development of technology and proud on how this movie is finally gaining attention again and being reminded of the early 2010’s era. The early 10’s was were all the fun had begun and I was proud to be a three year old in 2013, enjoying the movie and the song itself
You have no idea how much I love these type of songs. Just movie songs. Like the wreak it ralph one. Called When I Can I see you again? I love Owl City sooooooo much!!!
There are very FEW videos that Adam allows people to comment on his videos, so its heart warming to see so many people who are just as big of fans and in love with his music. Wish he'd allow more videos to receive the love they deserve. Adam Young is a rare gem of humanity and especially in the music business. He's got a unique gift of taking sadness/pain and raising it up to where you feel like you can shine like a golden star. His calming relaxing vocals, sweet harmony and well thought out lyrics bring you to tears but also makes you smile and makes you want to be a better person. Please LIKE this comment a lot so that Adam can see how much he's loved!!!

I was painting Yuna's "Stay Where You Are" cover for the DIY MV and my spotify playlist shuffled this song. That's why im here today. Eid Mubarak btw everyone :)
Hey, come on. Instead of complaining about autotune and shit, just enjoy the music. I respect both singers and in my opinion, they're both awesome in their own way. Said and done.
my friend passed away due to cancer during lockdown and this was one of his favourite songs I still have a video of him dancing to it a few years back ❤️
I don’t remember the first time i saw this film but god this song makes me miss my life as a kid really thank my parents for getting a bunch of films to watch even without internet lol
I truly think this movie is much to under appreciated. When people say kids movies are dumb or that Dreamworks doesn't always make good movies Id like to disagree with them. This has a gorgeous and valuable message, its especially done in a beautiful, unique way with incredible animation as well as voice actors! Even this song by Owl City & Yuna is outstanding! This movie hit me in the heart in so many ways you couldn't even imagine, even my Father, Sister, and Brother were so freaking touched and blow away by this amazing film. Seriously, take some time and go watch it. Its unlike any other family movie Ive ever seen, and Ive seen plenty - but this was phenomenal! Very under appreciated xx
+Animation Hub DreamWorks didn't make this song. It was all Adam Young and Yuna. I get giving them credit for making the movie, but he deserves a little too.
Omg did you know that Yuna is a singer from Malaysia. Today i saw her on youtube with Owl City omg Yuna you made it. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of being malaysian. I just can't stop breathing about you...one word : AMAZING
damn, i remember watching this with my cousins. we were a little kid back then, now we're a grown man so we didn't really have much time to sat in front of the TV and watch some movies together. kinda sad, but it feels really good to remember those days😊
The fact I still come back to this song after all this time... It's just heart warming and wonderful knowing this was my childhood. I will never forget this, thank you for this masterpiece!
After being listed among The TOP 20 Artist To Start Listening To In 2014 by THE HUFFINGTON POST, Yuna has recently being named again as one of the 8 Asian Entertainers Who Are Making Names For Themselves In The States 2014, also by THE HUFFINGTON POST, The #1 US Most Popular Digital Media & The Most Powerful Blog In The World.. Congratulations YUNA!!
Way to go Yuna. Wish to see more of your collaborative projects with big names of the music industry, ie Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars (to name a few). And please don't stop mentioning you're from Malaysia!! (the ugly truth is, many Americans didn't know where/what Malaysia is)
This is not the matter of me degrading my country. Of course I am proud with it. But you guys (if you're American) don't really bother to know about other smaller countries. I know it is not good to generalise but this is based on fact from street random survey done by Malaysians in the US at LA.
Some people not like this song because they think it's too soft or it's too childish but they don't understand that this song is telling you to find yourself to "find your way" to "shine your way" love this song💜
This song will always have a special place in my heart. My sister used to practice singing this back when she was in 6th grade because it was their graduation song so it grew on me. I just love the feels and the vibe that this song is giving. It's as if saying that it's okay to have bad days because we will see rays of sunshine in the end anyway.
