Hi Paul, on new builds( Ply/OSB) reinforcing the joints with the tape it is sufficient but of course if using Matting it is a much stronger overall surface! Using matting would normally take a bit extra material as well. Both options are Acceptable!
My 1960s house is flat roofed and has burnt on felt as its covering. Would it work priming that, putting the fleece down and 2 coats of Lava 20 on top?
Hi Rhys, where exactly are you based? Depending on the location you may purchase directly from our website www.globalcoatings.eu or even contact us directly on Watsapp 00353860786096 and we can advice.
Need advice After first coat -reinforcing matt is applied and here is the problem -the strains are pulled out of the Matt and looks like hedgehogs when you try to press it with roller or even worse when you try to give second coat .
First you ll need to make sure you are doing a wet on wet application, you only work on a few meters at one time( 2- 5 m) .Apply Lava20 then follow right away with the matting , work the matting in the product then follow with more Lava20 to cover it. There is a video on our page here with Lava20 being applied on Felt and it shows the exact application. Depending on the type of the Matting you are using, if it is the lighter powder coated Eg225g this would start disintegrating in the Lava20 in order to take the shape of any surface so you ll need to work it for a short time only. Contact us directly on Watsapp 00353860786096 and we can video call as well. Any of the imperfections in the coating can be sanded when Lava20 is dry and then you just follow with another lighter coat of Lava20 to level it all up.
Yea absolutely, Lava20 system is suitable for applications on new builds as well as refurbs(felt, asphalt, fiberglass, metal etc). On asphalt you would require to use matting over the entire surface. Send us your project details (size, surface ,location) and we ll advise and price for you.
If you can let it dry for a few days yes but otherwise no, concrete tends to hold moisture , a good stiff brush and dust off well. Careful with the application of primer on concrete not to soak the surface, take any excess of the roller ! Give it 30 mins to dry
Yes sure, Clean and dry the surface, any cracks can be filled with PU Mastic and Reinforced with Tape( Lava+tape+ Lava), Prime the surface then apply Lava20 in two coats or one heavy coat but add catalyst for uniform curing. Depending on the porosity of the concrete surface you may require anywhere to very minimum 2kg to 2.5 to 3kg/m2 of LAVA20 .You can email your project to us( size, location and maybe a couple of photos and we can price that for you. Regards Global Coatings
You may use GRP Trims and then apply Lava20 to coat them or Tape the joints and apply Lava20 in a few coats to build it up to a 2 / 3mm thickness. Also you may use Lava Vertical(higher Viscosity Lava20)
At the moment US /Florida would be the closest location to purchase the products! But yes it is suitable for Traffic when the TopCoat is applied as well for protection!
Yes sure but we would recommend to also use Matting in the coating of the Lava20, so basically instead of taping the joints you will apply chopstrand matting over the entire surface, optional but recommended you can add the topcoat for a bulletproof job! Send us size of the surface you are looking to cover to orders@globalcoatings.eu and would happily send you a products requirement for your job.
Realistically yes you can but you will need to use LAVA Vertical( higher viscosity Lava20). Normally it is designed for flat surfaces or with slope up to 10 degrees
Yes,Lava sticks to Lead Valleys. First give the surface a key, dust off, fill any cracks/gaps with PU Mastic, prime the surface, tape all joints ( wet on wet with Fabric Tape) then coat the entire surface with Lava20 ( approx 1.8kg/m2 require) All products in stock and available for collection or next day delivery. ...
What do you cover adjoining edges to a building with? So instead of lead? I’m considering using this for a flat roof and lean to directly onto the osbs
There are different shape GRP trims that would suit the application. We have a full list of trims on our website GLOBALCOATINGS.EU there is even a simulated lead flashing trim
I'm really keen to use this on the roof of my workshop. It's covered with some corrugated material - I don't think it's asbestos but not sure. The roof is 5.5 x 4.7 metres and my son is happy to do the job. Would you be happy to provide me with a materials list please? Very many thank, Anne (old lady on the isle of Mull 🙂)
You could no problem at all but grinding the surface before is recommended to remove any contamination! You can also contact us directly with more information about your project( size, location maybe a couple of photos of the surface) and we can recommend the right installation steps and quantities required . See globalcoatings.eu
Thank you for your enquiry, why would it not be legal? We actually just opened a small warehouse on that side of the world. Contact us if you require further information .
FACT- We have 9 Vans on the road only USING this System and 70% of the time we Refurb Felt Roofs which are leaking due to Loose joints,Non UV resistant, not ponding water resistant, we are in 2024!
@@GlobalCoatings show me your product that’s lasted 30plus years. I can show you plenty of roofs we have done over 30years ago and still going strong. 65 years roofing in Ireland. Haven’t seen a liquid product work yet…
@@Jim-s7l1s Liquids are not the same!!!! This is were the non professional and general people are fooled and they just buy a liquid roofing product from their local builder provider and think it's all the same, also people think that a product warranty is given only after the 25 Years have Passed! Education is key!
It is not PAINTING, this is Coating-- a big difference! Do not confuse this with a product you fing in your local business provider. The System is BBA and CE certified in excess of 25 years Product Warranty! We hope this helps but if you require any further information do not hesitate to contact us.
