Really very cool Dan watching Denver Holt uncover the owl's nest. I can easily see how hard it is for the survival of the eggs, let alone the Short-eared owl population. I guess you guys stayed far enough away from the skunk. Thanks for the video!
It's funny Joel, the skunk, and I are getting to be good friends. I've seen him twice since the nest raid. He hangs out in the same area and I've followed him for a while. Every now and again he bluff charges me. Super funny to watch. But then turns around and starts looking for bugs and other edibles. I'm headed back up today to help Denver with banding great gray owl chicks. Will be doing more of these Owl Notes for the Owl Research Institute. Hope you're safe and healthy.
