1:50 *Casually places noodles in* *Dramatic shot of Robi lifelessly staring while the camera shakes* *Robi is fed up* "Robi sent you a message:" _Robi is tired of your shit._
I ordered the english version of Robi, and I am very excited :). l like the things he does, especially the fact he can be used for a timer. Supposedly , he's does more commands than what the commercial shows.
Kawaii! Can't say that enough. He's a walking, talking dancing wonder! Impressive how he balanced himself on one foot. I think he also serves as a surrogate son for the young couple in the clip.
Ah, I heard about Robi on a forum recently and just watched this video. This little guy is adorable beyond belief, it's a shame that I didn't learn about it until after all of the subscriptions had been sold, although I doubt they were offered to the US anyway.
xXRodrigoPlaysXx It is indeed too expensive for its functionality. This is especially the case for the English model, which knows only about 200 words out of the many tens of thousands of words in the English lexicon. That being said, a robot/AI as cute as Robi that understands natural language as well as a human would probably be worth billions of dollars, which is a bit beyond my budget.
***** For 18 months. It takes a year and a half to receive the full robot. The worst part about DIY robots is that the programming does not account for user error, so RU-vid is replete with videos of Robi falling over or burning out -- I've seen a video where smoke came out of his arm during a dance, and then he basically died. 18 x $80 = $1440 too much for something that does not function as intended.
i want a robot companion. the robots that i make are quite basic, just simple minded insect type robots, but one that actually interacts on a human level, would be awesome
For him I invent - towel overalls - for 'wrestling' kittens - which is playful and simultaneously cleans 'moisture' from their fur A tiny projector inside the robot's head - could project a moving mouth (lips, teeth and tongue) - as well as all the lights in its eyes - even changing patterns for the iris - blushing cheeks - freckles / blotches (beard mode) - eye makeup - moving eyebrows - etc., etc.
The movements in that thing are AWESOME!!! My question is wether the voice is actually coming from the bot, or is someone reading lines off-camera? The sound seems too clear to be coming from the bot.
I don't know why my comments keep getting flagged as spam. I don't work for the company that makes these. I am a robot fan that really wants to see these released in the U.S., so I can buy one myself. The company that makes them is considering releasing them in the U.S., and I am encouraging people to contact them to show their interest to help ensure this happens. If RU-vid is flagging my comment as spam for that, I would like to be contacted and informed what policy I am violating.
...OOOH GOD I WANT ONE SO BAD IT'S SO CUUUTE ; v ; Although, I don't know how to speak Japanese, plus that thing is from Japan. Oh well. Still an adorable little thing to watch. ;v;
If you ever get one and you have a phone that can use siri, Then you may be able to have the phone communicate for the both of you. It's tedious but look at the robot it would be worth it :3
Four days ago you said "It is very well done but it is fake", and now?!! What you are seeing at 0:40- is the change from struggling to walk to dancing with both feet on the ground. Robots are shown dancing and doing karate moves because making them walk smoothly is difficult especially when the software is is ZMP based or written as if the robot was a screen animation.
Wow!!!!!!! I need to buy all of the magazines! This would be a great exhibit in my humanoid robotics display!!! Also, I like the new intro plasticpals1! :)
It look cool but I'm wondering if its somewhat sentient. For example does it map out it's surroundings and wander around them. I would be awesome if it could learn speech patterns as-well which it probably can't.
Nothing is self aware that is based on computer programming or ever well be, the ingrediates are anti-thetical to sentience, no matter how much more of the ingrediates you throw into the design or how complicated it becomes, though one day it might get complicated enough to fool a lot of people into thinking it is. Many think it will be possible one day, especially atheists because they have a inferior definition of sentience based on doing things rather then being and awareness, and its why we have not produced any true sentient artificial intelligence to this day, and if we throw billions and billions of more dollars at it, if that funding is for making a self aware being, those dollars will be better off spent or used as toilet paper, though said computers might be very very useful for many things. Though to be honest that toy is, really cool. >_< I want buy one for my niece.
Dreyeth Cordaine Of course machines will become self aware. And they'll become much smarter than biologicals. It's not something to look forward to, but it's stupid to think it's not going to happen.
No, it isn't. I've written about hundreds of robots on my website (check it out), believe me that this is 100% real. The final cost of the robot will be close to $2,000.
I can't stop thinking of what if my little robot like, dies, and it knows it's dying and it's cute ass says goodbye and just slowly goes offline. I'm crying now. What if its final words is just it giving me a special promo code to get a replacement robot for 10% off omigod
I am not doubting that this robot is real, I am just saying that it looks as if they used CGI to help sell this product. For example if you look at 0:40 - 0:50 there is a dramatic change in how this robot moves. It goes from slow jerky moments to all of a sudden fast and smooth ones... That is what makes me question this video. I am not just being a jackass and going FAKE like all the other people trolling on youtube.
