Zeus finally showed up. At 200lbs I'm similar to your stats but shorter. In turbo, fully charge, I felt the acceleration was faster than your speedometer recording BUT that might be in my mind. It's plenty fast. This is literally my very first Esk8, minimal long board experience, and I hit 55Km/hr the first day out. Breaks were fine. Dislikes that they won't hold a stop on a decline. From a run off, 90% battery, I maintained 37km/h on a substantial grade between 35-45 degrees, which blew my mind. Very very happy with the board. Thanks for the review and the discount code. I'll run this one until it blows up. Zero range anxiety, I just kept going and going without even thinking about it.
I love the Zeus. This board just keeps going. I have gone through grass, group rides, mountain bike tracks and roads and footpaths. The original wheels were unbalanced but I changed to evolve six inch red wheels. This board is a joy machine. If you snowboard.... Buy this board. You will be happy.
I was able to take a quick ride on this last night and OMG... What an awesome board!! Easily the nicest board I've ever ridden. I'll be going out Friday for a longer ride on it. Cannot wait! I definitely need to get this or the new Pro

This is the future. Production boards are starting to innovate and erase the line between stock and boutique, and this price point is amazing! This will be my next recommendation to my non diy friends. I would buy it if I knew about it a month ago, but I've just bought most of the parts to build my own 14s8p tkp truck custom board, but it will be double this price. The only small issue I might have is that it's hobbywing ESC and might not be able to upgrade or mod in the future....then again you might not have to! 😀 Really excited to see these companies innovate!
bro i said the sameeee thing. these GIANT botique boards r gonna be obsolete.. those machines arent even skateboards anymore. i 100% prefer the agility, power, range and quality in a smaller pkg. iv been sayin it for 8 months now.. 2 in 1 boards are gonna take off this year. im glad ppl are startn to see the VALUE they have. satisfies sooo many preferences.
@@esk8unity couldn’t agree more! It’s hard to beat the price to performance ratio of our boards. We don’t market as much because we put all that money to where it counts most and that’s into development. Sure you can buy a kit car if you enjoy endlessly tinkering with your set up but it’s hard to beat our reliability. Less time fixing more time riding!
We hope to bridge the gap between DIY and production boards. While we understand the need of customization it’s hard to beat the simplicity of our tried and trued set up. Honestly how often do you need to adjust the vesc settings? Again we understand the need for customization which is why we will be offering more options with regards to wheel colors and/or patterns and possibly different battery lid options in the near future. 👊🏼👊🏼
I'm definitely impressed with the Zeus. 13s4p is really good, I would still buy it with hobbywing (super minor issue), but I'm really hoping ownboard will also look into a 13s5p next year. No other production boards are offering 5p except for propel, and I think having that 50-70K option is the next level for those of us who can't get enough boarding. I want to skate longer than 1.5 hour at top speed. If you guys could consider that next I'd love to buy that sexy forged board alone!

Great review Scott I agree with you I would get the Ownboard Zeus over the Hadean any day of the week as well! Its about time that Ownboard got away from the double kingpin trucks I always thought they were garbage if you wanted stability at higher speeds!

It's great to see that ownboard have now created a 6 inches Pneumatic Wheels & 120mm Cloud Wheels combo when you purchase the board I wish they did from the start. Not interested in using the 97mm. Hopefully, 6” wheels will not but much more than $100 difference for the combo pack they now offer. They only really the decision was cloud wheels or 6”. Now it's a no brainer.

Ok, received mine about three weeks ago…first impression WOW! I tightened up the trucks a little, not much, and it really did wonders for my confidence at speed. I still have not stepped out of speed level 3, but I use the board to commute to work. I arrive with a smile from ear to ear, everyday! I travel down a trail at 31mph. It’s so stable! I did have one incident though. One of the bearings popped a plate on my morning commute, and I didn’t catch it until I arrived at work. That could have been tragic. Otherwise, it is AMAZING!!! Thanks again Scott for the great review that led me to this board!

Wow can't believe this was 6 months ago. Went for a ride on my viper last Sunday and saw the river walk was closed But went there anyway. Needless to say board won't drive through 4 inches deep river dust . Did my first superman LOL 😆
it would have been cool for you to take off and compare the tkp truck to rkp trucks and all that. heights widths and also maybe top down side by side of the steering action from RKP DKP to TKP.
Wow it's good to see that ownboard has elevated itself again. I'd be very curious to see how 150mm pneumatic wheels performs on this. Would still keep the board at a relatively low profile but have significantly more ride comfort than the 120mm could wheels.
Nice review, Scott! I instantly became interested in Zeus but have some questions. How well do these TKP variant perform? Does it perform better then DKP of Evolve? Those TKP trucks remind me Carver CX front truck which is more agile than any RKP truck and can be easily pumped/carved. Also, do Ownboard motor hit the tail of the board during deep carves? This was an issue on previous Ownboards for many users.

Know that car park at shorncliff well . That is a very steep incline. That board looks amazing. You said it last year "next year will be a big year for eskate ". You must be going crazy trying to work out what your favourite board of the year will be . Can't believe no one has said anything about the comp you have running with the ending of this one . So I'll leave it at that 😏

Board performance looks great! Although I’m hesitant because I prefer flex decks. Not a fan of a 6 month warranty, and with such a big battery the charge time of 6-7 hours is huge. Will a fast charger be offered? Can you buy clouds and a/t? Not interested in 97mm Edit: Oh well - it’s my birthday on Monday - ordered! How about some birthday lights? ;)
Get this. They told me I'm being sent the unreleased Zeus Pro. Apparently 922wh upgraded bash guard and other small tweeks it comes tomorrow I'll let you know.
I’ve got their whole new board. Zeus Pro, my guess is once the Zeus pro is on sale they will make the pro esc available for OG Zeus owners (hopefully at a discount)

Great review Scott! So many great things about this board. Hopefully, there'll be someone in SD that I can borrow one from to do a review! Would love to feel it, one of the first ones comparable to some of our DIY stuff, maybe not in acceleration, but everything else.

I've seen the hurricane reviews and it doesn't compare at all! Barley gets 30mph and about 18 miles range..... it's a big miss as far as what it says it will do. Everything the Zeus says it will do it does and more.

@@SeaEl__ Yep. Go look at their site and use the zoom feature for the photos. The two photos that show the top/bottom/side all in one for each, is the best. The 3k version is the traditional 'weave'. The forged deck has more of a cammo 'flaked' appearance to it. I thought I made a mistake getting TKP trucks as I like the manoeuvrability of DKP, but apparently this is a good balance.

Once at the speed you want hold that speed and tap the remote power button once quickly you know it’s engaged if your speed number has a square around it on the remote.

This is the best stuff man. Congratulations on the speed this thing is serious. Evolve 7" is going to be the way on that. 35mph is lit. Your riding is getting rally good. The top is going to be the way. Can you post some images of them?
Of similar size/shape boards (Haden, Atlas, Ownboard Bamboo etc) which is the smoothest/comfiest carver you think? Sounds like these trucks are the winner with little wheels? Wasn't sure of the carbon would feel too stiff like a metroboard for slow stuff and I would prefer the bamboo version. Great vid!
Yea man for our right best carver the Atlas 4x4 is actually the best, Followed by this Zeus But unfortunately the Atlas is so long it’s hard to “live with”

This certainly has me interested with my old gt showing Hella age. Was wondering why there is two different decks options advertised at the same price? Also seen the meepo hurricane releasing at a similar price, wonder how those two compare. Great video as always!
Hi mate the two deck types are purely to give the rider choice, some might not like the forged look, The price (after discount is a little cheaper) The hurricane looks nice but those speeds on DKP trucks could be dangerous.

HADEAN is a lot looser (but that’s their design) The Zeus feels a lot faster and way way more stable. The range I think will also be better on the Zeus but I’ll film that in a few weeks. The HADEAN does have more torque over the first 2-3 metres but that’s just down to dumping a heap of amps at the lower acceleration curve (this leads to the boards feeling “jerky” “touchy” etc “) Hope this helps
Unfortunately no, I won’t show Evolve anymore due to their patent issues they have forced onto other brands. The Zeus is a fantastic board especially with its 13S battery and TKP Trucks
