The dash looks so nice. I want a spacious and fuel efficient car.

Finally a good review lol this is like the 20th I’ve watched. I just found a 2016 impala 2lt with 7k miles on it 😍 I’m picking it up this Wednesday cAnt wait. Mines that the tech package with the boss sound system 😬 thanks for the good review dude.

Awesome. I'm sure you will enjoy it especially since you got some of the bells and whistles. Most people overlook Impala's but they're great cars! Enjoy!

Nice review! I own a 2015 Impala LT and I've been pretty happy with it. Here's my thoughts: The seats are quite good, with well designed controls, and they're comfortable. The MyLink system is fairly well designed and works reliably. Bluetooth phone pairing and functions work great. The engine is excellent - very smooth with a nice power curve. 305 horses is nice (although I live in Colorado, and the altitude means we only get about 240 of those horses because physics, but that handicap applies to all cars at altitude except electrics). The transmission is surprisingly good for a 6 speed. No complaints. Manual mode ergonomics aren't great, but I don't use it, so meh. I have had zero reliability problems... and my car used to be a rental car. The trunk is enormous. I can fit so many bodies in my trunk I don't know what to do with them. Handling is good... nice and predictable. Not very dynamic, but if you want that, buy a WRX or something. Suspension is fine - somewhat floaty at times, but this sedan leans towards a combination of power and comfort, so that's OK. Things I don't like: The headlights... at least in the 2015 model, they're just badly designed. Bad side-throw, and poor focus. I slapped a set of aftermarket LED bulbs in there, and it's much better than the stock halogens. Rear visibility is poor, which doesn't matter if you bought blind spot monitoring and rear camera. Unfortunately, mine has neither of those, requiring more neck twisting than I'd like (especially after I got hit by a car 4 years ago while riding a bicycle... the neck doesn't turn as easily as it used to). The hard-plastic on the dash (the long thin middle piece) sometimes makes noise against the softer plastics. Not a big thing, but noticeable when it happens. Giving the hard plastic a poke always shuts it up. One thing you mentioned... torque steer. I've had very little, and I often accelerate hard (gotta use those 305 horses!). Having said that, the stock tires (Firestone) weren't very good, and I've replaced them with ContiProContacts, plus Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter. I've found the better tires definitely make hard acceleration much more stable; the Firestones would slip on one side or another. All up, I bought a 2015 2-LT (3.6L V6) used, and would definitely do so again. Comfortable, spacious, surprisingly fast, and well appointed.

One more thing... fuel efficiency is better than EPA ratings. I'm getting 22 mpg city, and around 29 mpg highway.

I completely agree with all of your thoughts. Even though I've sold that car, it was just a good all around sedan. Personally I liked the looks of it more than others in the segment.Thanks for your comment!

I really like mine. It’s a 2019 with 7500 miles I got for barely over half of sticker price thanks to COVID taking out the rental car industry. 1LT trim but with leather, panoramic roof, spoiler, and the real camera is standard plus heated steering wheel which is essential where I live. Same colour.. wasn’t really set on silver but it’s growing on me.

Great review. I currently own a 2012 Impala, same engine but only 300 HP. No issues within 4years and 100k miles. Currently looking at a 18’ Charger RT and 18’ Impala Premier. Can’t go wrong with Chevy though
@KingN8Boogie
@KingN8Boogie 6 лет назад
Kenyon Hicks just wait about 30,000 more miles. It’ll start burning oil at a ridiculous rate, transmission problems, and throttle body issues. As much as I love the impala, the previous model (which I have) has serious issues. Even after keeping up with scheduled maintenance.
@KenyonH

KingN8Boogie I just got rid of it after I posted that comment. It had 137k(had 37k on it when I got it) miles on it. It did burn oil like crazy but that was the only issue. I actually miss that car. The brakes were horrible though

How did You add the sub to the factory Stereo ?
@seductivepoetryinc

Good Question!
@stuffwithStephen
@stuffwithStephen 4 года назад
I have an amp and subwoofer installed. The LEDs are wired into the output of the amp. The power being sent to the sub controls how bright the lights are. This can also be accomplished by plugging into the speakers that receive the most bass from the factory stereo in any car although you will have to turn the volume up quite a bit to get the full effect.

I still love it! I also haven't had any problems with it. I just keep on on the maintenance and that's about it. I think Impala's are underrated. You can find one for a pretty great price and it has tons of features. I say go for the LTZ trim level if you can. It has all the bells and whistles.

I love my 2016 Impala but I’m having issues with something electrical keeps killing my battery. I bought a new battery and something in the wiring is killing it where the I can’t unlock the doors, with the keypad, battery dies, radio restarts, theft deterrent light comes on and I took it to the dealership they claim they fixed this problem and now it’s happening again. I can’t go anywhere without fearing I may get stuck somewhere because the car won’t start

I ran a wire from the battery for power and used a line-output converter to tap into the front door speakers which provide the low frequencies for the factory stereo.

Stephen! Thank you for a thorough review. Thumbs up. I am very very interested in picking up a used 2016 LTZ with 21K miles so this review helped alot. I am personally amazed that the Impala, beginning with the 2016 model, is not more popular! It's a gorgeous and dependable vehicle. I do have a question. Does your model have the 'automatic engine stop' (I forgot the actual term), but where when you come to a long red light the engine will shut off? If it does, any complaints? Also, what mpg are you experiencing, and is the interior noise still as quiet as when you first did this review? Thank you!
@stuffwithStephen
@stuffwithStephen 5 лет назад
I've actually sold this car however I think I can still answer your questions. The auto stop feature was limited to 4 cylinder models if I remember correctly so I didn't have it with the V6. The interior remained quiet. I only ever experienced one rattle in the front doors from all the bass that comes out of the speakers installed there. I was able to fix this using some basic sound deadening materials. Road noise was never a problem. Fuel economy was around 20 city, 30hwy. I am a conservative driver for the most part though.

@stuffwithStephen
@stuffwithStephen 6 лет назад
This particular trim didn't come with those, but the Premier/LTZ trims do. I added a backup cam and had my dealer add the factory remote start. There is a module that they replace which adds the feature.
@Lamarrdarron
@Lamarrdarron 6 лет назад
stuffwithStephen how much did it cost to do that
@stuffwithStephen
@stuffwithStephen 6 лет назад
Adding the remote start is about $400 which includes the cost of reprogramming new keys. I added the backup cam for about $150. The backup cam I put in shows up in the rearview mirror rather than on the infotainment screen.
