Sometimes a critter is just fat I suppose. Lol

I had a vet suggest switching my big boy to an all wet food diet, and he lost weight (he was also pretty lazy). The only caveat to just eating wet food is oral hygiene, so make sure to brush her teeth. Or...make her work/play for her food? Don't feed her in a bowl; instead, portion out what you'd feed her, and make her come to you or follow you to get food, a couple pieces at a time. And, try grain-free cat food, as well.

That means she's taking in more calories than she expends...that's over eating.

I don't understand how that is possible? If he was left alone in a locked apartment he would have died & if he was in a shelter for 12 years they wouldn't be overfeeding him. Guessing the real story is the owner died of obesity related issues/ended up in care & he was taken to the shelter & adopted by this family pretty fast.

@T-hs2qm thank you I'm a huge animal lover even if I know I personally couldn't keep the animal I'd do what I could to help them cause seeing certain videos about abuse and abandoned animals kills my heart greatly 💔 😢 😔 🤧 it's like person I know your life maybe rough and your struggling but seriously those animals did nothing to deserve your pain and suffering they don't know what your going through my grandma always said it costs nothing to be kind but it cost you everything you have to be cruel. I live by that everyday for both animals and people sometimes animals get us more then people do and sometimes it's easier to like animals then people but he seriously would've died in my yard had I not found him thankfully the other stray who later would be his mate twice knew he was in pain so she who we already let go in and out when she pleases started to help him recover to her name was Tekka (ti-ka) like tikki masks we kept there babies as well well ok a few of them but he's still here and his kids but Tekka.....is not she when't out to hunt one day and didn't come back we knew she always came back so she didn't abandon us but a year later we found a cat skeleton behind our outdoor air conditioner unit and there was no way to tell but somehow to pit our worries at rest we figured it was her body so we buried the bones and had a funeral.

@T-hs2qm they have greatly I would say across my lifetime so far and I'm only 27 now I've grown up with a few dogs but mostly cats parents say there easier to care for espacially if your going on vacation all they need is to be checked up on a few times food water a clean litter box and there good. But I'd say maybe 12+ cats across my life so far and the 1st 2 I remember growing up where like my moms babies they where her kids before her and dad had me and my brother so they where like our cat sisters but being kids and not really knowing what to do we toke the route most did and pulled there tails and the whole 9 yards and they hated us as kids but we grew older and where educationed more on proper handling they grew out of that I hate you phase good thing to cause they where already old ladies to begin with and towards the ends of there lives they grew to enjoy our company tho as my mom had such a bond with them when each died she stayed in the basement all night long crying waterfalls well ok for Bradie (female spelling) she was able to but Lexie died unexpectedly one night in the basement without us knowing till hours later she died a year later due to loneliness as her and Bradie where always together since kittenhood even tho they weren't from the same litter my mom was a broken woman for a long time after that so it was harder for her to open up to new animals but she eventually did we've had many come and go over the years which we all buried in the backyard givin we should've marked the areas they where so we'd know but we didn't so now that the grass regret we can't tell our fault. We only have 6 now Sasha his daughters Rachel (named after a teachers child) and Chloe (named after the brats girl) Jade (brats girl and from tekkas litter before Sasha came along) my baby Mitchie (a black cat 🐈‍⬛️ named after Demi Lovatos character in Camp Rock she's an old woman to) and my deceased aunts cat Meowmeow who we adopted following her deaf In 2021 after effects of covid and my dad multiple health issues in 2019 my moms never been the same since then but we get by how we can with help from the cats.

@T-hs2qm thank you they truly are a great help they say animals have a better time understanding your pain and suffering then most people do so when we're sad they can tell there like emotional support animals without having the paperwork for it. Alot of times where it was really bad I felt like Mitchie was the only one who cares or understood me well aside from my boyfriend who like me and my brother us a fellow autistic adult growing up with it wasn't easy and really rough and hard making friends wise but thankfully my cats unlike people would never abandon me people come and go in our lives but animals are the ones that stay loyal to you I can't tell ya just how many times these cats have saved my life in some very dark moments mentally them and my boyfriend help me keep it together and carry on more then I give them credit for I honestly truly believe had it not been for him and my cats I really wouldn't be here right now
