The VW 2.8 V6 motor may not be the fastest thing (it's not slow either!) but it won't ever go wrong. The are bullet proof. They respond well to supercharger and turbo conversions, that really wakes them up! Good work btw always enjoyable to watch. 👍🏻
I just bought a V5 2,3 Bora, 170 HP. Its my first car...so naturally I fell in love whit it, I really like yours as well, I lowered mine, blackened the backlights, gonna get some xenons on front, and some rims, can't wait to be done whit it.
Your channel is a breath of fresh air mate. Keep up the good work! And I've always liked the Bora. I'm glad your mate didn't slam it that much that he wouldn't be able to enjoy the V6, most Bora's round my way have thier arse's scraping the floor lol. Also my mates dad had a golf V6 4motion when I was a kid and that was a great car!
Just found this bora looks great, the v6 4mo for me was massively under rated, got the mk4 v6 myself providing you fix the boaty ride there brilliant maybe one day il see if jamie is interested in having a look 😂
love all your vids mate! always looking forward to new ones as you're in my opinion the best channel on YT atm, subbed for life! you deserve alot more subs so definitely recommending to mates etc.
i always thought those v6 badges were a bit unfitting for these cars. it's a vr6, a little different than just your typical v6. pretty much the one engine that vw has been most notably famous for.
Nah it's a VR6, basically a 24v version of the MK3 VR6 engine. The Bora and Golf 4motions were good test-beds for technology that would be improved and introduced in the Golf R32
great job again! great choice with the 2.8 V6 and it's the one I would have took but I think the 1.8T is so easily tuneable and better on fuel hence the popularity, here's to 1k sub's coming soon!
Nice car. I had a Golf mk4 110kw 4motion tdi, and am looking to buy one again, or a Bora, since basically, its the same car... Ye 4mo is great, but the fuel consumption is higher, and the loss in power output is noticable in comparisson with the same engine without the 4mo... I subbed... You are a really pleasant, nice guy... Keep it up. Cheeers m8 :)
Alrighty, I'm looking to buy one of these now and a bit concerned about reliability. What advice can you give me? Do they break down alot? And are they expensive to maintain and live with?
I have a fully optioned, manual 2005 V5 Bora as my daily. They are great cars, very comfortable and a nice place to be. The seats are my favourite thing about the car, they are heated and are very comfortable with great bolstering. I bought a V5 instead of V6 because it is only my daily and I didn't want the added complication (and potential unreliability of the 4MOTION and VR6). Plus V5s are a unique engine configuration and they make cool noises. I was able to find the perfect V5: late model, low mileage and perfect spec. The only modifications to mine are speakers, a headunit and an exhaust. I won't modify it any further, it is my daily and there is no point in spending any more money to make the car less drivable for daily duties (that's what my track car is for lol). But the manual gearbox and the cool V5 noises make it fun and entertaining enough for a daily.
João Silva We only got the Golf estate too. Maybe the diesel 4wd is just really rare in the UK so I haven't seen any. I would love one though :) My PD130 spins way too much.
not as popular, due to tuning potential sadly, I have a 2.8 audi, and is the same story there, the 1.8ts where more tunable, theres not a lot you can do to the 2.8 motor.
Depends on your budget and love for the platform really, Lots of Turbo/Supercharger kits available for these engines. But you need to really love a Bora to want to drop £3k+ on a turbo kit I suppose, which is why I also went the 1.8T route (Cupra R) Regarding your Audi totally get you there, The amount you;d spend tuning it you'd be better off buying a B5 S4.
