Owning LAND // How we MAINTAIN 5 Acres of Land - Ep. 16

We’re back up at our land. The purpose of this trip is so we can be at our property as the foundation to our A-Frame Cabin is being built and hopefully poured. However, we have a little bit of extra time when we arrive up at the land so we get to work on some of the chores we do during each visit to the land that make our stays much more comfy, and the chores that just keep our land in working order.
Follow along as Sara maintains our composting outhouse. People are always asking us about it so we always enjoy going over the ins and out of how our composting toilet system works. Then, Sara shows how we are supplied with our drinking water during each of our stays at the land.
Lastly, Ryan gets to work on his favorite part of having our property - chainsawing downed trees. We recently had a LOT of trees taken down around our cabin build site so Ryan had a LOT of cleaning up to do. Check out the tools he uses to make this chore a little easier.
And now a little back story on us, in case you just found us on RU-vid. We’re Sara and Ryan. We are your average suburban family, but 8 years ago, we purchased a raw piece of land in the Hood Canal in Washington. We’ve been developing this piece of property slowly, and this year we knew it was time to go all in. So we purchased a log cabin kit home and decided that 2020 would be the year we built a house on our property. We plan to build this cabin (as much as we can) on our own.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a delay on our cabin kit being produced and delivered in the time frame we had originally planned. While we could have just waited it out and pushed back starting on the build of our home, we decided to shift gears and change our course for the time being. We purchased a 30 foot yurt, and will be setting it up as additional living space when we begin to build our cabin.
Follow along with us as we build our dream in the Hood Canal.

Thank you. This is probably the hardest part. Pushing though the times we can't control is hard. But we have learned to be flexible and roll with the punches.

Hopefully, you checked the fuse first. The majority of the time when trailer lights go out, it's the fuse.

I've never seen someone stop mid trip to fix some trailer lights before.

Well it's illegal to drive without trailer lights and I really didn't feel like getting a ticket, or worse getting into an accident.

What is the green round structure for?
@OneFootOfftheGrid

That is our yurt. It is additional living space while we are building our house. We will use it as office/studio space once the house is finished.

You had me until the beauty of the environment and work was marred by all the music. I don't know anyone who doesn't prefer the sound from wherever a video is taken. And adding it seriously reduces the accessible audience. Your audience either has to love it, too, or be incredibly tolerant to Majesty it through to the end. The last one was all at the end I think and could skip it and forgot all about it, but I am blatantly truthful, I can't physically be pussyfootin' so it necessitates I make my points as quick as possible. But just kind of some food for thought: it might be worth seeing how your views and shares, likes, comments, &/or subscribes change. First you have to measure them for a period. We would need to see what the stats are currently and if you can't track that over time in this or some other app, you can screenshot your data every day for some time, but minimum should probably be no less than 3 full weeks to get a good range (6 is better) Your next step is to include your music-free videos for 3 weeks (Shorts and these) and screeshot those results. After which you will want to perform some simple statistics. Bb We need the mean, median, and mode for each set of data. Only because just the average doesn't give a good picture for comparison if you are assessing measurements like this. I just also sometimes have poor reactions to music, but I also have a type of synesthesia. So, I'm sorry if you thought i was coming some kind of way at you ,it esp wasn't at all my intention to make you feel any bad kind of way. My apologies. ~ Be, Get, & stay Blessed yall. ~ the groom will soon come for His Bride!!! SHALOM!! 🙏✡️🙏✝️🙏✡️🙏 MARANTHA, ABBA FATHER!!

Aw, I was still editing my message to make it more appealing but I've written too long. I've run out of spoons for the time being at least. But I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. I'm sorry if you read me differently. I don't expect people to be perfect, like, AT ALL!!! I'm the last perfect person probably there is. I'm disabled and can't do more than write the occasional message. I was changing I to sound more supportive though but had to respond to this because I truly meant no offense. I'm too disabled to be wordy. But I was working on the initial message. I'm sorry if my comment hurt your feelings. I appreciate all the effort I know this all must take. Now, just imagine, please, writing by text us probably equally challenging and incredibly painful. Be blessed, y'all. It is coming together fabulously!
