turning the flywheel after loosening with hammer and jamming against handlebars is also how you take the flwheel off, just keep turning the flwheel by hand and it comes off. This gives access to points, coil, condenser etc.
Please note. The shears cut straight away when engine starts. do not stand in front. The clutch on the handle bars has to disengage the drive. On this model to disengage for starting and stopping movemnent has to sit in notch, beware it can vibrate free. to engage drive the lever drops down. On later models a safety feature was introduced i.e. lever down to start, lever up to engage drive and move off - definitely a safer way.
Other written material that I have says 5/32” BTDC so was surprised to hear 3/32” in this video. I tried both but the begger of a thing won’t run at either setting. I have excellent spark but just won’t fire up.
