You are forgetting Amanda Pays, Julian Sands, Cary Elwes - plenty of names in this. Also, I don't know any college or high school movie that has special effects.

@@TheKazadoodle In the first place, I did say NO special effects as is indigenous to this movie as there literally is no special effects. Second I am very familiar with the lovely Amanda Pays as I really liked her acting in this movie, Max Headroom, and the short lasting Flash as a researcher at Star Labs. Also I do enjoy Carey Elwes as he played an excellent role in the cult classic "The Crush" opposite of a then up and coming Alicia Silverstone. He was quite good as well in "Robin Hood Men in Tights". And finally Julian Sands, and while I did not see a lot of him I did find his acting solid in I believe it was "Warlock" as he played a warlock looking for the grand grimoire. I also liked him in the Steven King's adaptation of the book Rose Red. So to make my point, while all the actors mentioned are good actors, capable in their craft, and quite entertaining, they are not well known, household names like Rob Lowe and Ally Sheedy. Both were A list actors and at the time, both were part of the famous "brat pack" comprising names such as Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, and Robert Downy Jr. It's no disrespect to Amanda Pays, Carey Elwes, or Julian Sands, they just weren't as prevalent in American cinema and while Oxford Blues does take place in England, it is still American.

@@deathstrike I guess as non American, who was prevalent in American cinema at the time wasn't relevant to me at the time, although, having said that, Julian Sands did have his place. As to the special effects, why mention them in the first place then if they had no place in this movie and it's ilk?

@@TheKazadoodle I mentioned no special effects because many of us who grew up in the 80s remember when movies did not need effects and CGI to actually be good. Look if you are going to keep nitpicking over what was said, then perhaps it is not a simple opinion you want to read.

@@deathstrike Ahem, the 80s was filled with computer effects, it started with Star Wars in '77. Not nitpicking and you didn't give a simple opinion. There's plenty of good movies around now that don't rely on special effects etc. The 80s were, in fact, the height of relying on special effects.
