And the reason it is hard to imagine these sort of patterns is because your brain limits your perception to a degree, filtering out unneeded or unwanted distortion, the whole brains processing is very complex and noisy. It's your brain trying keep input usable as a translation from ''real'' events, as seeing fractals isn't really helpful when trying to hunt animals. Unfiltered sensory imput can be incredibly tiresome, and will probably drive you crazy after a long enough time. People suffering from hypersensitivity and/or other disorders like HPPD will tell you it can be very uncomfortable over processing information, especially when you can't tell ''true''' information from noise or assumption. there are cheats and hacks, like optical illusions, that will show you, or trick you beyond these filters

@@Yobott I tripped so many times by now that I probably have something which can be classified as mild HPPD. It's more obvious when Im tired & shows itself mostly in light drifting and enhancement of symmetry (like when looking at a wall with a texture or a tree or drifting wood grain or shadows moving a bit when they dont). For me that doesnt per se feel like a malfunction of my brain, but rather the psychs having "opened" some locked places in my brain. Creating pathways to know how to see these things and enhancing them. Personally though, Im not bothered by it. Its not too intrustive and I think its rather interesting.
