Watching this in a great deal of pain, but I just can’t wait to get back to cleaning with my rotaries. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

So I will give some back ground into the reason I mentioned the call to positivity in this video. I will not mention any names but I know some who are reading this are aware of who I am talking about. Please do not put any names in these comments as I will remove the comment to maintain the decorum and maintain the professionalism of this channel plus the individual I am referring to feeds off the drama. I was not aware of the drama playing out over the last few years that involved some of the more well known in our field but it came to my attention last year year when one of the prolific posters contacted me. He gave some insight into what he and others had learned and experienced regarding a particular individual and his partner who was actively creating discord on various carpet cleaner forums. I had some dealings with this individual and his partner in the previous year as I too had been on their Facebook page as a participant. I had joined reluctantly after an invite by them but only as I hoped I would be able to influence a higher standard of practice, image and chemical usage. This was not the focus of their content and I as well as many others who participated was suddenly blocked and no longer welcome. That was certainly no loss in my view and I continued on with my channel and often reiterated my concern regarding unsafe usage of certain chemistry. I have been around long enough to have seen quite a few carpet cleaners succumb to what was likely an untimely death and often wondered if exposure to unsafe chemistry and practices was the cause. The individual who contacted me was very gracious to reach out as he and I had been having a kind of feud regarding the use of potentially harmful chemistry but what he told me was quite alarming. The protagonist had been stirring the pot as it were in this matter and feeding false and misrepresented information to others often taking things said out of context and literally accusing me of hating the caller. We had a great conversation as he had realized he and others had been "played" and the individual who was primarily behind this drama was doing this purposefully as he said in his own words in a recent comment and was laughing at us and all the discord he was causing . The individual who called and others had been interacting directly with the protagonists in the past and they had even tried to help them succeed and even gifting items to them to be supportive as they were in a financially compromised situation at one time. This individual is contrary to all attempts to raise the standards as true professionals would. He strives for and delights in taking pot shots and often takes comments others make, usually out of context and then posts long rants mocking others on his own recently created Facebook group. He claims he is the most knowledgable and well respected carpet cleaner anywhere and states he is the most influential carpet cleaning poster on RU-vid. He has a great dislike for the idea behind the SETT program and the call to higher standards and nearly every time I post a video another rant will appear on his page where he criticizes and mocks everything I do. This in no way affects me other than to be amusing and slightly irritating but as I and the other primary individuals who have been under constant attack have understood the spirit behind all this we concluded we will totally ignore everything posted about us and we will not even expose ourselves by watching or reading anything he posts. We are professionals who desire to be the best we can be at all aspects of this business and the SETT program is a good idea and as we move forward we hope to continue to attract the best of the best in this field and the focus is quality and performance and encouraging and helping each other succeed. Our Facebook group is SETT (soil Extraction Transfer Technology) and if you are a carpet cleaner using pad extraction to clean come and join us as we encourage and help and learn from each other and succeed together.

Hi Robin. I did notice awhile back a paradigm merger between the ULM/SETT folks which pleased me very much, as I subscribe to all. It was almost overnight and I wondered if something went on so this makes perfect sense. I think there’s several issues at play with regards to VLM/ULM/SETT and an individuals perception of it. From my view, they are: 1. You and others are not saying SETT is the be all and end all. Many times you’ve mentioned HWE and when you would use it (Upholstery). It’s a method/tool to have in your arsenal where the pros outweigh the cons 10 to 1. 2. You are not saying, “You need to do X then Y”. You’re saying, This is how “I prefer do it”. I’ve heard you talk about different techniques (that are specific to a customers needs) however you encourage everyone to understand the basics first. 3. I have never heard you lecture viewers or given a TED talk about your chosen method and why it’s the best. It’s been the customer that determines the quality by voting with their wallets and reviews, bookings. I’ve lost count how many times you’ve said, “I’ve been here 12 months ago, I started with this client 4 years ago, I’ve done their lets and homes”. 4. You are not selling products (chemistry, bonnets). You actually urge viewers to try their own products they like and experiment (not at a customers). Nanomaxx and Suspend are the two you mention BUT that’s because you’ll be asked 100x if you don’t say and it’s incorporated into your method. 5. The technology associated with VLM/ULM/SETT has advanced a heck of a lot over the years. Products and tools have advanced, meaning it’s not what it was 10/15 years ago. It can be hard for those who are institutionalised with HWE. Even the general public don’t understand where the dirt goes. I didn’t when I first saw it, however after watching yourself & Corey (get well soon Corey) it became very clear. Ignore what those “See You Next Tuesday’s” say. You shouldn’t silence their comments. Let them ride and those who know, know.
