It's left over from earlier versions of the game. Slime lung used to be deadly. And insidious. Like, wash the gold amalgam before use, or, accept that at least one of your dupes is gonna die. At least.

Slimelung probably slowed down game progression so badly, and likely demanded such mandatory resource allocation for early ventures into thise areas this stiffled the game to a degree (Demanded players stocked on metals to make Gas masks, built passageways SPECIFICALLY to kill off any germs stuck in the dupes from their digging into slime biomes, and then either set a METAL REFINERY into the Biome itself with a Chlorine chamber to store all materials for sterillization, or set a chore and time consuming ore scrubber checkpoint to do so for all collected materials). So in honesty, Modding, or if Klei thinks it is worth the work, set as part of the world settings the choice of how deadly diseases will be for the gameplay on that specific colony run. Odds are the nerf came more because it felt like BS RNG fucking you when a random dupe of yours just ups and decides to do the DUMBEST POSSIBLE thing that causes a Slimelung Epidemic in your 300+ cycle colony, somehow. Klei likely understands how broken the Dupe AI can be at times and decided to eliminate disease wipeouts from being in the list of "Ways the fucking AI can frick the player big time"

I'd also like for duplicants to have a lifespan. And a heart attack when you reach 200% stress. XD

@@andreweaston1779 That would make the game more fun indeed. The difficulty in this game is mostly gone by the mid game when you get food and oxygen running sustainably. Having to deal with germs would make for a hell of a time before getting atmo suits online. Which requires you to tackle slime biomes to get the reeds for it. They should rework germs in the future and make it so they spread from atmo suits and solid too. This would neccesitate having a decontamination chambers setup to get rid of them.

@@holycarcas8069 If they do that, I hope them at least make it added to a harder difficulty or a modifier because I can't even get past making a SPOM :(

i like setting up my drecko farm near the critter morph machine thingy with enough room for a critter fountain and condo to get maximum critter in the ranch. with a built in incubator, all the overflow eggs from the ranch is sent to the morph machine to turn it into glossies, which are then dropped into a shearing room. easy plastic tonnage

Well I have some more plants to cover and then a few more topics that I've thought of or have been suggested since I finished the main series. After that though I will have to move away from Tutorial Bites, but I still have lots of ideas for fun and hopefully educational videos for ONI so stay tuned!

nvm, i had latters 3 tiles below the plants, so the two tiles needed for the plant were provided, but this seemed to have cause the issue, so i removed them

If the pip overlay is green then I'm not sure what to recommend other than a lot of patience, they do sometimes take ages. You could also try move the seeds closer or reduce the pathable area of the pips.

@@GCFungusi tried all that, in the end they did not like the latters 3 tiles below the target tile. After removing them everything worked fine! I do not really understand why as the plant would have enough space, but i did not need the latters anymore

@chainslunatic They are 3 tiles high so that would be blocking. I did think the planting overlay caught that but maybe not.
