Oysterband is the epitome of folk rock. Period. Just as talented as any uber-popular rock band, their roots are solidly in the passionate dirt of folk. Check underneath their fingernails - you’ll see it. They have followed their musical instincts producing songs no other band can cover. Talk about original. I have so many Oysterband songs engrained in me. This is my highest compliment - I carry their music in my biological system.
Saw the 25th anniversary of Holy Bandits at Exeter Corn Exchange.. I was the only Socialist in the village.. and the only dancer! ace gig.. saw the original tour too.. at the Britannia in Plymouth.. fell in love with the band that night, thanks to my mate John Davis
