I've been doing night security at the Lyons event in Cave Junction, Oregon. For the last several years I have been training in all things related to firearms and medical. Things that the military didn't train me for. Working a security night shift is simply a natural thing for me so why not use my skills to keep everyone safe and secure during the event. Liberty Watch is who we are and volunteer work is what we do.
Busy time of year harvesting the garden, saving seeds, drying herbs, butchering and smoking protein, making sausages, putting honey into jars, bottling beer, mead and wine, making jam, jellies, extracts and tinctures, pickling and fermenting, loading bread mix in jars, making soap, storing Mylar bags in bins, splitting wood, pressure canning and dehydrating, collecting the jars of water glassed eggs, wrapping up beeswax candles, sewn and knitted baby blankets for the winter. PHEW 😮💨
Thanks Travis! Even though we weren't there, it is inspiring to see that others were and that people with knowledge, skills, and aptitude are available and willing to share. Even if someone is not likely to develop a particular skill, it is good to have a passing knowledge, and an appreciation, of what is involved. Again, thanks for sharing a bit of your experience.
The goat milk ice cream was perfect on the hot afternoon! Many of the people who had booths also gave classes, so next year be sure you bring a notebook. I learned about foraging (Bo Brown), hoop house farming (Mindful Farmer), homesteading for seniors, medicinal herbs, and more about long term food storage. I was also able to buy nonalcoholic tinctures. Best of all, I was able to catch Travis on the last day and get some one on one advice about raising ducks! So Travis, the Cattleman is finally on board with prepping and I have hope for a spring flock! Thank you so much for your help!
My gal just harvested mint to dry for tea, we are planting potatoes in the "cellar garden" along with cabbage, which recently went up from 59cents a lb. to 89 cents. The coffee went from $11.99 to $14.99 now $17.49 in just 6 months , so I am becoming a tea drinker....what a great event !!
We were there, my wife and I. Lots of things to implement... We are on 1 acre, and have an 11.69 acre propetty we are buildibg currently. I looked for you, but didnt see you.
I've been seeing the "This product contains a bioengineered food ingredient" statement on more foods lately. I think they contained GMOs all along, it's just now they (are required to?) label it.
That goat milk ice cream was amazing!! And their cheese, especially the sundried tomato basil!! They are at the Springfield (MO) Farmer's market every Saturday.
Interesting video Travis! Now I have a better understanding of what you're talking about sometimes on your channel. It's nice to see you in motion at the expo. Good job! Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job. It must be neat to live in the Ozarks.
I don't make knives but I make the necklace that hangs a knife from out of paracord I sold every one of them I made last year they went fast for an extra $20 I added a cheap knife for it didn't make a killing but everybody was happy with it
I cut down around 40 trees.A guy with portable saw mill came in and made lumber out of them for free.He took half and I kept half.I helped him with the milling by handling the boards as they were cut and helped move the logs into place. Many people have put a well in by hand using a well point and driving it in. There are yurts, wall tents, pallet sheds.
@@christinelamb1167 in 1991 the Angel of the Lord spoke to me and said. I am going to bring a great judgement upon the earth. We are headed for a comprehensive judgement. No one will escape. Even the prince of this world will be judged. A new age is forming. With new rules and a new paradigm. We need to seek the Lord for wisdom to navigate what's coming.
@@michaeldunigan1067 Amen brother! We need to seek the Lord God for His wisdom, not our own. How many times have I thought I was doing the best thing, based on my own thoughts? And how many times has it ended in disaster? I pray every day that God would transform my mind and heart, that I might be conformed to the mind of His Son, Jesus. But as much as I pray this, I still keep falling prey to the flesh, which leads me in the wrong direction. Yes, we need our Lord God's direction and wisdom to navigate what's coming! New rules and a new paradigm are already in place, and events are happening quickly.
@@christinelamb1167 the Lord bless you and keep you and fill your days with His peace and His joy. Pursue His promises. It is the only way to get through what's coming. Psalm 41:1. Blessed is he who considers the poor. The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
@Michael Dunigan let each build according to his/her calling. If God is calling you to a battle ship then help build it. Noah was called to build an ark. In the end only his family (and could we consider the animals a home stead?) Many are called to build what you consider a dinghy. Their calling is to get their family through the flood as Noah did. Let us not judge the calling of others. May we each follow our own calling.
