It was a pleasure fishing the 2023 Ho-Ho-Ho, Fishing for Dough Kayak Tournament at Ozello Keys Marina. I kayak fished this local charity tournament not only to connect with the Yak Tribe brothers, but to support an amazing cause.
The format of the tournament is 1 redfish, 1 trout, and 2 ladyfish. Most inches wins. I personally love the ladyfish added in because it makes it anyones game. It's that last minute weigh-in that makes the entire event interesting.
I focused on the redfish early in the morning, moving to trout, and then fining the lady fish towards the early afternoon. On pre-fish day it worked out great! Not so much on the actual day of the tournament. But that's how that goes!
