Scott Morrison lied about sending in emergency support in the weeks just past because he needed the fires to continue its path. The Government knew that the only way they could accomplish the project is if they forced all the farmers and rural residence to move closer to the City, so they can buy up land ravaged by the fires. Me too Entonis. Fire fighters see a lot and though they're not immune to it they're usually pretty good at holding onto their resolve. When they break down it shows how hopeless they're feeling, and it's frightening. I couldn't believe all those animals. It's an apocalypse scene.

Some of these fires are caused by arsonists, unsure of the motive but they've started some of the fires. Others were ignoring burn bans during fire season, it's a complex issue caused by many factors.

His party, and state counterparts have gutted funding for fire and emergency services in general, and the Rural Fire Service in particular. It seems that way because that's what the media is pushing. Natural fires aren't any more common now than they have been in the past. The majority of the problems in Australia right now is arsonists. Over 200 arrests for starting fires. Some of whom are eco terrorists who are starting fires to push the climate change narratives. And the governments are failing at land management. Especially in California. Need proper funding and planning to maintain fire brakes so wildfires can be managed.

We always had fires, but they're definitely having a bigger impact. Thank heavens it finally snows here and we can stop worrying about it for a while. But every year the fire season lasts a little longer.

Some years are dryer than others or some years happen to be warmer but there's nothing happening now that hasn't happened many times since we have started keeping records of the weather.

The smoke was choking and we three kids were huddled in the footwell of the back seat with wet wool blankets over us, and Mum was doing the same thing in the front. Dad just had a bandana over his face and left his window down as we drove at breakneck speed, so he could try to hear if any trees were cracking and falling across the road while we drove. It was the scariest thing and it left a lasting impression on my 7 year old mind. I admire these men and women for their amazing courage.

Somewhere like Brisbane or further north and Darwin is so hot now that our tight ass government is now forced to provide free aircon in homes that can’t afford to instal it themselves. Train lines are warping, roads are actually liquifying from the relentless heat... the most terrifying thing is that these fires in New South Wales they started in August... that’s our winter. We are all shitting ourselves, it’s not even halfway through summer... and all the while we are all running out of water... while the government gives megaliters away to foreign owned cotton farms and forbids farmers from touching it... this is only the tip of this iceberg too. There’s so much more.

I live in Brisbane and everyday is a fucken scorcher. But honestly as hot as it gets up here, that's nothing compared to the tragedies happening further south of Australia. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people and animals whose lives and ecosystems have been fucked because of these shitty fires

This is what happens when fire suppression happens for going on 100 years. Fact is most of the world used to burn off till advent of diesel etc allowing us to transport WATER to said fire and put it out. The whole "fire" problem is a complete lack of historical understanding by ignorant Joe public and bureaucrat Charlie. Doesn't have a damned thing to do with Climate change, but propaganda sticking their oar in.

Thank you. All the animals and firefighters will need help for years to get through this. Although I wouldn't ever give to Red Cross again. Totally disgusted with them. They are only releasing a quarter of the million raised for relief efforts, taking 10% for administrative costs, and then will leave a portion aside to "assess" what needs to be done in a year or two. I always donated to Red Cross but if this is how they handle their donations, then screw them. They are probably investing the rest for a long time and keeping the interest. Friggin' unbelievable.
